Worth Keeping In Mind

From Disaffected And It Feels So Good, this trenchant observation:

"On this fake blessed day it's time to remember the one group of people whom even jesus hated and distrusted; Bankers."

Unfortunately, the people who need to remember this have a great talent for only remembering the parts of the Bible that suit their interests, and even then they usually remember them wrong.

Jesus despised the greedy who spat on the poor yet proclaimed to be godly men. So yeah he "hated" (he didn't really hate anyone) bankers. He'd "hate" washington today too.

There you go, Derek, putting words into the mouth of your Lord. Funny how you guys like finding things in His words that he never said, (like all that stuff about gays and abortion, while managing to ignore his clear words.

Really? Ever read the parts where Jesus talks about greed and corruption and why he disliked the religious leaders and rich of his day?

Why not post a verse or two, in context.

""Then he will say to those on his left, 'Depart from me, you who are cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels. 42For I was hungry and you gave me nothing to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me nothing to drink, 43I was a stranger and you did not invite me in, I needed clothes and you did not clothe me, I was sick and in prison and you did not look after me.'

44"They also will answer, 'Lord, when did we see you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or needing clothes or sick or in prison, and did not help you?'

45"He will reply, 'I tell you the truth, whatever you did not do for one of the least of these, you did not do for me.'

And Republicans and Christians alike give far more than their Democrat and atheist counterparts.

The rich also give extensively. Note that not all bankers today are greedy and kick dirt in the eyes of the poor as you insinuate.
