The Shadow of Death

T

What you are looking at is the "crowd" that showed up to see Donald Trump today, in Florida.

This makes the Tulsa rally look like a free Rolling Stones concert in Central Park.

This is what he has come to.  I cannot see how he can recover from this, short of massive criminality and subversion of the law.  He is, of course, getting around to that already, but if this is the famous "enthusiasm" that he claims his base has, he had better get going on the cheating.

Rage

In lieu of a wingnut wrapup today, I would like to focus on a single article from Town Hall, one of the most widely read right wing websites in existence.  It is by a guy named Kurt Schlichter, whose writings have appeared many times here.  Today, though, something has changed.  Here are some excerpts:

"Democrat Liars Are Barely Even Trying to Fool Us Anymore"

Because we all know that it is the Democrats that are doing all the lying.

"You watch the freakish Rep. Jerry Nadler mouth off to AG William Barr"

Democrats asking questions of a Republican Attorney General in a Congressional hearing is "mouthing off," because they have no right to speak in public.  And they are freakish.  More freakish than Donald Trump or Mitch McConnell?  Hardly seems possible, but whatever.

"The next question is how someone as lumpy as The Nad ever managed to pull off his escape from Willie Wonka’s factory. Maybe he hid in a dumpster of garbage and it worked because no one noticed him nestled inside, perfectly camouflaged"

Nothing like focusing on the issues there, Kurt.  Note that, among the schoolyard taunts, there is not one word about what Nadler said when he was "mouthing off."

"But truth is still a thing, despite the efforts of Rep. Class Act and that witch Nancy Pelosi, who called our cops “stormtroopers” with a straight face – though in fairness to her, after all that Botox she no longer has any other kind."

More pure childish taunting, with absolutely no interest in the substance of that hearing, which is the massive evidence that Barr is a crook like his boss.

Believe me, Kurt is not done yet:

"Remember that all this disorder is an information operation designed to make us normal people think that chaos is descending upon America..."

Which is not at all what Donald Trump is up to, sending troops into American cities, to attack peaceful demonstrators.

"...and that Donald Trump will be unable to protect us when these barbarians issue from the cities like Sauron’s hordes from Mordor and march on our suburban and rural homes. The unspoken deal they offer is that if we only elect the gropey old weirdo who lives in a basement then all this trouble will magically stop and, as a bonus, the Bat Soup Flu will be cured."

Barbarians...Sauron's hordes from Mordor.  That's you, readers.  And Uncle Joe is a "gropey old weirdo."  More meaningless playground insults.

"As for the “Wall of Moms,” a hackneyed bit of performance art that might fool dim bulbs like the flatulent Eric Swalwell but no one else, it’s unclear whether those hefty harpies even identify themselves as women."

More vicious taunting which is utterly irrelevant to the issue at hand.  And of course, Kurt has the solution to all that:

"When those creatures slither into our communities, it’s stick time.  And that’s not even accounting for all the Second Amendment enthusiasts in the hinterlands."

Just beat them to death, or shoot them.  That'll shut them up.

There's lots more, but that is enough.  This article is not even an attempt to discuss issues.  It is nothing but an inchoate scream of rage.  And we all know what brought it on.  Mr. Schlichter sees not just defeat in his future, but the stripping away of all illusion that he and his readers cared for one second about this country, or anything but slaking their own most base emotions.  It is distilled hatred.  Well, that is what Conservatism is about in this country today, and this is how they sound now that they see that hatred is not enough to get them what they want.

And let me add one other comment from Town Hall today:

John Kass, Town Hall:  "What Happened to an America Where You Could Freely Speak Your Mind?"

Apparently, Kurt's "opinion piece" wasn't speaking his mind.  If that was holding back their real opinions,  I wonder what they actually have in store for us if Trump steals the White House again.

Change in Tone

This little video, from Media Matters, is one of the greatest illustrations of the sycophantic irresponsibility of the mainstream press in regard to Trump (and for that matter, all Republicans.)  I suggest you take a look at it.

Note: for some reason Blogger is refusing to recognize the embed code for this video.  Here is a link to the youtube video:  https://youtu.be/ihuOXs8FLgw

In fact, we have all known, since early in his Presidency, that Trump is never going to change his "tone."  He is a mentally deficient bully filled with hatred and self-love, and he is incapable of being anything but the subhuman monster that he is, except when the people surrounding him manage to get him to focus on the danger he is in of ending up in prison.  And that never lasts more than a day or two.  But still the press is trumpeting his "change in tone," while he sends unmarked troops into cities to attack peaceful demonstrators and kidnap them off the street, and a judge has just ruled that he had a man thrown in prison to prevent him from telling what he knows about Trump's criminality.

I guess they will go on providing cover for Republicans until the day they are all hauled away and disappeared.  Which may be coming in the next hundred days.

News That Doesn't Matter, I Guess

We hear this today:

"A federal judge on Thursday ordered President Trump's ex-lawyer Michael Cohen released from prison to home confinement, saying the Justice Department's move to take him back into custody earlier this month was retaliation for writing a book about his former boss."

Within one week, we have now seen unmarked men in full military equipment abduct innocent protesters in the streets of an American city, and now we are treated to the sight of a man being thrown in prison to prevent him from revealing criminal information about the President of the United States.  Add this to the concentration camps full of children, the perversion of the Presidency for personal gain, using the Presidency to allow convicted criminals to go free in return for keeping their mouths shut, fabricating false charges against political opponents on a regular basis and savaging the rule of law to prevent the President's crimes from being revealed and punished.

In whose mind are we not now living in a dictatorship?  And if you want another question to think about, what are we going to see next week, and the week after that, and every week until this maniac is removed from office and put in a prison cell for the rest of his life?

Wingnut Wrapup

For a few days there, it seemed like the wingnuts had fallen into a deep depression.  They didn't even seem to have the energy to come up with new lies, and were just repeating the same old boring ones.  Well, I guess inspired by Donald Trump's campaign of unprovoked violence against protesters, they seem to be snapping out of it, and are all of a sudden trying to make up for their recent failure.  So, there's a lot today, although once again, there is much more I didn't get to.

Before it's News:  "Engineered Llama Antibodies Neutralize COVID-19 Virus"

Amazing.  And the answer was right in front of us the whole time.

Before it's News:  "Find Out Who This Snake Messiah Is Who The Jews Worship And Who The Jews Are Expecting To Arrive Very Soon To Set Up Their New Jew World Order. Great Video!"

And to think that Green Eagle, who regards himself as fairly well informed, never knew that Jews worship a snake.  I'll tell you what: Given what the "Judeo-Christian" God has steered the world into, I think the snake might have done better.

Well, at least Jews don't worship a toad.

"The book is now one of the very few that is forbidden in the entire world for people to buy and read."

Gee, I can't understand why.

Larry O'Connor, Town Hall:  "Trump: The Incumbent Outsider"

See, he's been President for almost four years, but he still is a man of the people with no contamination from Washington politicians.  Just like him being a rich predator who steals from children with cancer, and the working man's friend at the same time.

John Stossel, Town Hall:  "Too Much Faith in Models"

Is this going to be a story about Donald Trump's dating history?

Michaela Burrow, Town Hall:  "U.S. Withdraws from Five Military Bases in Afghanistan"

A free gift to Vladimir Putin described in the article as "bringing peace" to Afghanistan.  The peace that comes when one dictator controls everything.

Katie Pavlich, Town Hall:  "EXCLUSIVE: President Trump Defends Armed McCloskey Family Against the Mob"

And how did he defend them?  By telling Katie this:

"They were going to be beat up badly if they were lucky. If they were lucky. They were going be beat up badly and the house was going to be totally ransacked and probably burned down"

A complete lie, of course, which both Trump and Katie knew perfectly well.  The demonstrators were never a threat to the McCloskey house or to them personally.  But when you don't have any real left wing violence to speak about, you just have to make some up.  Look what is happening in Portland.

Tyler O'Neil, PJ Media:  "What's Behind the Left's Insane Push to Blame Trump for the Riots?"

The facts, Tyler.  Something you wouldn't understand.

Before it's News:  "The CDC has been operating as a criminal agency inside the United States for a very long time...I promise you, Mr. President, if you send a hundred FBI agents into the CDC and remove millions of their files as evidence, you’ll discover this federal agency is entirely corrupt, and has been for decades.  Sending in the FBI to seize records, indicting and prosecuting hundreds, at the very least, of their employees and top executives, and cutting the agency off from any input whatsoever concerning COVID, would mark a tremendous service to the nation.

The economic war against the American people is backed up and justified by massively fraudulent data and fake science.  A MAJOR source of that data-cascade emanates like putrid swamp water from the CDC.

Take them out, Mr. President."

This is the "news" that forty percent of the country is getting.  The Centers for Disease Control are nothing but a criminal gang.  Donald Trump, on the other hand, is as honest a man as ever lived.

Before it's News:  "Adrenochrome in Hollywood | 800,000 Children Missing a Year"

According to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, there are 800,000 cases of missing children in the United States every year.  Apparently every one of them was eaten by movie stars.  In fact, only 115 of those cases on average are children taken by strangers.  So I guess those Hollywood movie stars are pretty much only eating their own children, which should be a relief to everyone in America who doesn't live in Malibu.

Joe Cunningham, Red State:  "Donald Trump Booted Brad Parscale, but It Is Not Enough"

Of course not.  It won't be enough until he boots himself and the entire rest of the Republican party.  Well, at least he is working on it.

Bonchie, Red State:  "Trump Goes Full Master Troll In Response to Goya Boycott Nonsense"

Because that is what they hired him for.  Not to solve the nation's problems.  To be a troll.  To own the libs.  Screw all the rest of it.  It's just fine for him to advertise a product while sitting in the Oval Office, in return for financial support from the company's owners.  Selling the Presidency to the highest bidder- just what the founding fathers had in mind.

And now, how about some Conservative humor?

A little less funny than it might be, seeing as how he is a racist, liar, fascist and buffoon, but there you go.

Sister Toldjah, Red State:  "Watch the Look on Chuck Todd’s Face as MSNBC’s Katy Tur Morphs Into a Democratic Spokesperson on Live TV"

Funny he never had that "look" on his face in years, as he invited endless Republican shills on his program to lie to him and the American people.  That was what he was paid for.

Robert Spencer, PJ Media:  "Iran Imprisons Christians, Then Showcases Book on U.S. 'Islamophobia'

An article by one of the most notorious anti-Islamic hate spreaders in the world, but just fine with PJ Media, which will not, by the way, have any articles about about the US imprisoning Muslims and then its leader blabbing endlessly about how Christians are persecuted.

Joe Hoft, Gateway Pundit:  "TGP’s Joe Hoft “The Man Who First Exposed the COVID-19 Hoax” says NY Gov Cuomo “Should be Investigated and Looked at for Murder” on Infowars (VIDEO)"

Joe Hoft!  Writing a "news report" on...Joe Hoft! and something he said on Infowars!  And he is “The Man Who First Exposed the COVID-19 Hoax!"  And every word of the report is true, I promise you!  Joe Hoft, the brother of Jim Hoft, who founded Gateway Pundit, who is widely known as "the Stupidest Man on the Internet."  And also as one of the biggest liars on earth.  Joe Hoft, who surely did not get his job writing for one of the most widely read right wing lie factories in the world, just because he is Jim Hoft's brother, no.  Joe Hoft, who writes the news about himself.

Lisa Haven, Restricted Republic:  "Emergency: Pelosi Says She’s Removing Trump & Making Herself President Under COG Martial Law"

Did Nancy Pelosi say that?  Of course not.  But so what?

Dennis Prager, Town Hall:  "The Dehumanization of Blacks"

Carried out entirely, of course, by liberals:

"If you take black and white left-wing rhetoric seriously, blacks are not human beings like members of other races."

God, I hate Dennis Prager, the most disgusting, vile excuse for a Conservative thinker the world has ever seen.   And that may include Hitler.

Matt Vespa, Town Hall:  Should Conservatives Prepare for Civil War?  Liberals hate us. Conservatives have yet to reach the levels of hatred our enemies have for us. It's maddeningly annoying that, to this day, there are still a few on the right-leaning spectrum of politics who think we can still be friendly with these liberal vermin."

We don't hate liberals, no, they are just disease ridden subhuman animals.  When we exterminate them it is just out of love for our white kids.

"The Marxists are here, folks. Fix bayonets. Dare I say, forget about being decent and fair. It gets you nowhere if you lose. Conservatives need to be willing to do anything to win this election."

And they are, too.  Just don't forget, doing anything to keep power is not "winning an election," it is destroying democracy.  They aren't done talking about civil war at Town Hall today, however:

Mark Nuckols, Town Hall:  "What a Second American Civil War Could Look Like...I fear that there is a looming civil war on the horizon. It is not yet inevitable, but all true American patriots must be prepared for the coming battle. And the costs in blood will be heavy. This war will not be fought like the American Revolution or the Civil War of 1861-65, where disciplined armies observed the laws of war and respected civilian lives.  This war will be waged by far-left radicals and their deep-state puppet masters. For them, civilian casualties and massacres will not be moral evils, but merely part and parcel of their larger plan to “reconstruct” America. Their objective is simple: overthrow our constitutional order, destroy our way of life, and deprive us of our freedom, our liberties, our property, and our honor."

And how will this civil war occur?

"In similar fashion, I believe one likely spark for the Second American Civil War will be the result of a coup d’etat carried out by anti-America extremists...The shock troops will come from the ranks of Antifa and radical anti-white elements of the Black Lives Matter movement. These fascist stormtroopers will be augmented by the even larger numbers of veterans of Occupy and other far-left movements. And jihadists from across the globe will flock to support this coup."

Mark goes on and on, but I guess that is enough for now.  Just a note:  I had never heard of this guy, but Town Hall proudly announces that "Mark Nuckols teaches law and business in Moscow."

Ellie Bufkin, Town Hall:  "The Polls Say One Thing, America Says Another...the unscientific survey of America – the real America, the one outside of the bubble of politics and rhetoric – tells an entirely different story."

The unscientific survey, i.e. the one Ellie just made up.  But, whatever they need to get out of bed in the morning at this point, I guess.

Nick Arama, Red State:  "The Utter Gaslighting by Media About ‘Unidentified’ Feds Detaining ‘Protesters,’ ‘Trump Occupation’

Don't like the utter face of fascism your administration is showing?  Just lie about it.  Claim that these armed thugs all have uniforms that clearly show who they are, despite hundreds of pictures showing that they don't, and claim that kidnapping innocent people is just standard police procedure.  Well, at least Nick can fairly claim this about his second statement:  It may not be standard police procedure yet, but apparently it soon will be.

Streiff, Red State:  "President Trump Directs That Illegals Not Be Counted for Redistricting and You Can Imagine the Reaction"

Yeah, you can imagine the reaction:  that what Trump is trying to do is an open violation of the United States Constitution, which explicitly requires that all people within the country be counted.  Got a problem with that, Streiff?

Tyler O'Neil, PJ Media:  "Portland MOMTIFA Sets Leftist Narrative: 'I Don't See No Riot Here.' Don't Believe It for a Second."

Who you going to believe, someone who is there, or a paid Conservative liar?

Mario Alexis Portella, American Thinker:  "Will There Be Another Trump-Kim Summit?"

Oh God, no.  The perfect distraction from Trump's problems: another gratuitous humiliation at the hands of Kim Jong Un.

"Kim’s dictatorship continues to fail to protect or promote the rights of numerous at-risk groups, including women, children, and people with disabilities."

Well, at least the two guys have something in common.

"It is true that Trump has forged a relationship with North Korea, unlike any of his predecessors."

Well, that's for sure- the relationship of a sucker and his master.

"At the same time, Kim knows that he will unlikely have the success he has had if Joe Biden gets elected."

Presented by Mario as a reason to keep Trump in the White House.  Go figure.

Dark Outpost:  "The Reptilian Elite - Is Kamala Harris a Reptilian?"

Probably not, but I guess this shows who they are really afraid of running against.  Here is their evidence that Kamala Harris is a Reptilian, which is absolutely, certainly not photoshopped:

Coast to Coast AM:  "Several Million People are on Mars, All Part of the German Breakaway Colony"

Mars Nazis!  Millions of them!  Worry about that instead of our home grown Nazi in the White House.  That's a good idea!

"Michael Salla has concluded that major war operations presented opportunities for huge amounts of money to be siphoned off for secret projects, such as what went on at the Montauk Air Force Station from 1971-1983. Based on whistleblower testimony, he believes they perfected portal or stargate technology there, which allowed people to be instantly transported to far-flung destinations such as Mars.

Over the years, the Germans continued their covert technological and spacecraft projects out of Antarctica, he cited, and “right now, I firmly believe there are several million people on Mars that are part of this German breakaway colony.”

Convinced?

Bronson Stocking, Town Hall:  "Critics Clobber Biden For Calling Trump the First 'Racist' President"

The only "critics" mentioned in the article come from the Trump campaign.

Walter Williams, Town Hall:  "Confederate generals fought for independence from the Union just as George Washington fought for independence from Great Britain. Those who label Robert E. Lee and other Confederate generals as traitors might also label George Washington a traitor. Great Britain's King George III and the British parliament would have agreed."

Those who do not label Robert E. Lee a traitor are racist liars, whether or not they are black, as the turncoat Walter Williams is.  I guess Washington might have been a traitor to England, but not to our country, which is probably why there are no statues to Washington in England.  There are statues to the traitor Lee in this country, which is an abomination.

The Heartland Institute:  "Why Congress Should Not Extend Federal Unemployment Benefits"

Because then there is more money for the Koch brothers, who fund the Heartland Institute.

Bonchie, Red State:  "Latest Chicago Mass Shooting Could Be Mistaken for Parody, but the Mayor Can Only Mouth Off to Trump"

The black, female Chicago mayor.  Funny, when she criticizes Trump it is "mouthing off."  Get where Bonchie is going with that remark?

Jim Hoft, Gateway Pundit:  "Three Federal Agents May Have Been Blinded Permanently by Antifa-BLM Lasers in Portland"

This is another of those stories that appear out of nowhere at dozens of right wing propagnda sites on the same day, without a single mainstream source reporting it.  Let me note, by the way, that three Federal agents may have been eaten by the Easter bunny, for all we know.  Not saying they were, but they may have been.

Joe Hoft, Gateway Pundit:  "Intel Expert Bill Binney on Live Stream – Evidence Shows DNC Was Not Hacked (by Russia) – Evidence Points to CIA Involvement"

Bill Binney, huh?  Never heard of him?  Well, here's a little from his Wikipedia entry:

"In August 2014 Binney was among the signatories of an open letter by the group Veteran Intelligence Professionals for Sanity to German chancellor Angela Merkel in which they urged the Chancellor to be suspicious of U.S. intelligence regarding the alleged invasion by Russia in Eastern Ukraine.[17][18][19] In the open letter, the group said:

[A]ccusations of a major Russian "invasion" of Ukraine appear not to be supported by reliable intelligence. Rather, the "intelligence" seems to be of the same dubious, politically "fixed" kind used 12 years ago to "justify" the U.S.-led attack on Iraq...Binney claims the U.S. intelligence community's assessment that Russia interfered in the 2016 presidential election is false, and that the Democratic National Committee e-mails were leaked by an insider instead.[20][21][22] He appeared on Fox News at least ten times between September 2016 and November 2017 to promote this theory... He has been a frequent guest on RT (that would be Russia Times, a Russian state propaganda factory) and Fox News and has been frequently cited on Breitbart News.

On January 23, 2018, Binney made an appearance on InfoWars[25] in connection with the Nunes memo, a Congressional document alleging irregularities in the application of the FISA Act"

Which was, as you may remember, a total lie.  Well, Breitbart, Fox News, InfoWars, Russian state propaganda outlets...and thus is created a right wing "intel expert."

And, how about a little more Conservative humor?
Isn't that cute?  What is interesting is the notion that, if one person somewhere commits any of these acts, it is okay for Federal storm troops to rampage all over the country arresting anyone they want.  I'm just not clear that behavior is protected by the Constitution.

Joe Hoft, Gateway Pundit:  "HUGE! Polls From Battleground States Show President Trump is Crushing Sleepy Joe Biden...Breaking huge news – President Trump is crushing Sleepy Joe Biden in current polls in the swing states where it matters.  President Trump is running away with the lead in polling where it matters."

Oh my God, what are we going to do?  Real Americans hate Democrats!  And where do these "polls" come from?

"Last night President Trump’s Media Director released polling numbers in the swing states where the President is showing sizable leads."

Oh, Trump's media director.  And where did he get those numbers?

"Dan Scavino tweeted results from recent polling at the American Principals Project "

The American Principals Project.  Hmm, and what might that be?  From Wikipedia:

"The American Principles Project...promotes human dignity in public policy, supporting the respect for human life from conception to natural death, marriage between one man and one woman, the reality of human beings as divided into two complementary biological sexes, religious freedom, and the thorough preservation of constitutional values.  They have also led efforts opposing the Common Core standard and advocated for monetary reform by suggesting a return to the gold standard."

Well, there's an unbiased source.  Note what the American Principles Project seems to have absolutely no involvement with:  polling.  There is no sign that they have ever conducted a poll before, or have the ability to do so.

Media Bias/Fact Check rate them as extreme right, low factual reporting and a source of propaganda and conspiracy theories.  Their funding is not clear, but a significant part of it seems to come from Robert Mercer, who may be the most sociopathic right wing billionaire in America today.

Tauren Dyson, Newsmax:  "Jewish Group: Pelosi's 'Stormtrooper' Quip 'Offensive to Jews Across World'

A "Jewish group" called the Conference of Jewish Affairs, which seems to pretty much consist of a single person, long-time right wing "rabbi" Aryeh Spero, whose other very Jewish concerns are reflected in articles like "President Trump Restores the Original Intent of the First Amendment,"  "Socialism Extinguishes the American and Biblical Ideal," "BIDEN’S U.N. CAMPAIGN AGAINST ISRAEL REVEALED AGAIN," and "We invite you to sign this petition calling for an outpouring of support for our men and women in blue!"  Well, there seems to be a theme developing here of Conservatives manufacturing their own "experts" to broadcast whatever lies and smears they want.  And the following is no exception:

Tauren Dyson, Newsmax:  "Alan Dershowitz to Newsmax TV: 'McCloskeys Holding Guns in Front of Home Was 'Completely Legal'

Pointing assault weapons at innocent people in their neighborhood- completely legal.  From the great legal mind that assured us last year that a President cannot be impeached for doing something that he thinks will help him win re-election, if he truly believes that only he can save the republic.

World Net Daily:  "Millions of Americans not buying official coronavirus death count"

Yeah.  They're the same millions of Americans that believe racism doesn't exist in this country, that global warming is a hoax, and that Hillary Clinton eats dead babies.

Mary Rose Corkey, The Daily Caller:  "U.S. should 'create alternatives' to Chinese forced-labor manufacturing"

Yeah?  Great idea.  That would require getting corporations to agree to pay workers more than Chinese forced-labor workers get.  I'm sure the same American corporations that went to China in the first place because cheap slave labor wages meant more money in their bloated pockets will get right on it.  Thanks for the creative thinking, Mary Rose.

Ilana Mercer, World Net Daily:  "Bring in the feds! Protection of natural rights trumps federalism"

Natural rights.  Like the right to beat black people for wanting freedom, I guess, because here is the example Ilana gives:

"Whether you thought those riots right or wrong, back in 1964, state police officers were a forceful presence for law-and-order."

You betcha.  Law and order like this:

It is almost incomprehensible to me that someone today could be as degraded as to use the beating of civil rights demonstrators in the sixties as a perfect example of the government doing its duty, let alone to do it in the week when John Lewis, who was almost killed by that behavior, just died- the last living link to the leadership of that era.  But here we are, America.  I think this truly is the most loathsome comment in today's Wingnut Wrapup, and at this point, I have no interest in seeing if I find anything worse.

A Wingnut Flash from the Past

Well, perhaps the greatest idiocy in world history.

I came across this article a few days ago.  It was written during the height of the Mueller investigation.  I thought it might interest some people, representing as it does one of the seminal stages in the development of the insane QAnon theories which are more influential in the Republican party every day, as its grip on reality decays.  Sixty Republican candidates for Congress this year have indicated at least a partial support for QAnon idiocy, so this is no longer something to laugh about.  Well, here it is:

"How Mueller & President Trump are Pulling the Biggest Sting in History

"Trump made a shocking promise to Clinton in the event he got elected. “If I win, I’m going to instruct my attorney general to get a special prosecutor to look into your situation…we’re going to have a special prosecutor,” Trump said. Clinton responded, “It’s just awfully good that someone with the temperament of Donald Trump is not in charge of the law in our country.” Trump then interrupted and said: “Because you’d be in jail.” Trump’s statement was met with cheers and thunderous applause."

Promising before he was even elected that he would put innocent people in jail for the "crime" of opposing him.  Well, look at Portland; that is one promise Trump intends to keep.

"Fast forward to May 16, President Trump is now in the White House and meets with Robert Mueller...So what was the meeting really about? I believe Trump was finalizing his decision to appoint Mueller as his special prosecutor to investigate Clinton. Don’t believe it? Keep reading."

Well, of course I don't believe it.  It was nonsense from the beginning, but it was the only way right wingers could explain away Trump's clear acts of treason.  It didn't need to make any more sense than the story that the earth is six thousand years old, because sense isn't really their thing.  Hatred and racism are their thing.

"Trump is a man of his word..."

Ha.  Except for those twenty thousand documented lies he has told since becoming President, or that charity money he rose for children with cancer and veterans, and then just kept, or his claim that you could get an actual education at Trump University if you just paid enough, or all those subcontractors over the years he cheated out of their pay, or paying prostitutes to keep their mouths shut about paying them for sex, or about ten thousand other things.

"...and he’s making good on all of his campaign promises..."

Well, he has built three miles of that wall.  And he's balanced the budget- easy, just like he said.  What? He has tripled the budget deficit left to him by Obama, and this year it is exploding like a hydrogen bomb?  No, that can't be true.  And he sure has fulfilled his promise to come up with a far better health insurance program, or at least he will any day now, and he brought peace with North Korea and...oh well, enough is enough. Otherwise, this could go on forever.  Now, back to our show:

"...so why wouldn’t he keep this one? The left and the media has been so blinded by their partisanship that they’ve failed to see that the greatest bait and switch in the history of the world is going down right before their very eyes. They’ve naively assumed that since Mueller had been a part of the swamp, he’d protect the swamp."

They naively believed that Mueller would make an honest effort to do his job, whereas Republicans never expect that from anyone, having no intention of ever wasting their time doing the same, and just assuming that everyone is as corrupt as them.

"However, just because he’s associated with corrupt politicians like the Clintons for years does not mean that he likes them or has any interest in protecting them at this point. After all, the Clintons did go to Trump’s wedding and you know what they say: keep your friends close and your enemies closer."

The Clintons went to Trump's wedding, so that proves they are corrupt.  Hmm...might be something to that reasoning.

"When Trump was asked if he’d consider firing Mueller, he responded by stating he was confident he’d be absolved of wrongdoing."

And Donald J. Trump would never state anything he didn't believe to be true.

"If Mueller is so corrupt and intent on protecting the Clintons, like so many on both the right and the left believe, why isn’t Trump sweating?"

Because he has a corrupt Attorney General who will see to it that the truth is buried deeper than Cthulhu's grave.

"He alluded that he’s not even thinking about firing Mueller. Not only is Trump a man of his word..."

Except for those twenty thousand lies, and...oh wait, we've been through that already. Sorry.

"...he’s rarely ever wrong and his instincts are killer."

His instinct to inject bleach into your lungs to cure Coronavirus?  Well, that instinct sure was a killer.

"It also should be noted that Mueller is a decorated Marine who served in Vietnam and has received many medals including the Purple Heart."

And?

"Mueller was hired to investigate Clinton, period. If my theory proves to be correct, this will go down as one of the most brilliant sting operations in history."

Well, it didn't go down as one of the most brilliant sting operations in history.  It went down as one of the stupidest right wing delusions ever.  Unfortunately, it has been topped over and over again, as one after another of QAnon's lunatic theories has proven to be false, and as Trump's deranged, criminal behavior has required ever more preposterous explanations to wish away.

And yet the QAnon idiots go on, predicting that the 160,000 sealed indictments of Hillary, Biden, Tom Hanks, Oprah, Chrissy Tiegen, the Queen and God knows who else, which are sitting on Trump's desk, are going to be unsealed any day now.  And they seem to believe it, that belief being far more palatable to them than admitting what suckers they have been.

Just To Be Clear About Trump and Ghislane Maxwell

Because once again, no one seems to be willing to state the obvious truth.  Trump was not being unaccountably nice to Maxwell- he has never been unaccountably nice to anyone in his life.  He was sending her a clear signal that, as with Roger Stone, if she just keeps her mouth shut, he will take care of her.  Just one more action of a mob boss want-to-be.

Update:  Just to be fair, since I wrote this I have seen a couple of other people stating this obvious truth, such as this example from Susie Madrak at Crooks and Liars.

Edmund Pettus

John Lewis leading the Selma civil rights march that almost cost him his life

There have been suggestions in the last few days to rename the bridge in Alabama where John Lewis was nearly beaten to death by sheriff's officers, before he went on to an almost legendary life as a Congressman and fighter for civil rights.

The bridge is currently named the Edmund Pettus bridge.  I have heard that name practically my whole live, but never had a clue who Edmund Pettus was.  Today I decided to find out.  Here's a historical account from The Smithsonian Magazine:

Edmund Pettus

"Pettus was regarded as a hero in his native state and adopted hometown of Selma, a lawyer and statesman who served as a U.S. senator."

Well, that's nice.  Naming bridges after heroes, a long tradition.  And what did he do as "a lawyer and a statesman" to earn the respect of his people?

"...he was also a decorated Confederate general and a leader in the Alabama Ku Klux Klan."

Oh.  Not quite so good, I'd say.

"His father was a wealthy planter and his mother the offspring of a Revolutionary War veteran. After passing the state bar in 1842, Pettus moved further south to open a law practice in Gainesville, Alabama.

Pettus’ family profited enormously from the economy of the Deep South, owning slaves and producing cotton. But it was Pettus’ belief in white supremacy, and not pure economics that drove his support for the Confederacy.

“His fanaticism is borne of a kind of pro-slavery belief that his civilization cannot be maintained without slavery,” says (Alabama historian Wayne) Flynt.  "He’s not a reluctant pragmatist, brought to secession to go along with the people. He’s a true believer.”

"In 1896, at the age of 75, Pettus ran for U.S. Senate as a Democrat and won, beating incumbent James L. Pugh. His campaign relied on his successes in organizing and popularizing the Alabama Klan..."

Just saying here, but in my opinion it might be a reasonable idea to rename this bridge.  The Satan Incarnate on This Earth Bridge would actually be a better name than the one it has, but I think the John Lewis bridge would be the appropriate choice.

Your Mainstream Press

There are three stories that represent the major threat to the American people these days, as far as I am concerned.  One, of course, is the Coronavirus.  The other two both involve Donald Trump.  The first is his knowledge that Vladimir Putin is paying bounties for the murder of American troops, and not only doing nothing about it, but continuing to take action to aid Putin while hurting the United States by further damaging our relationships with our allies, and pulling troops from Afghanistan. That is giving aid and comfort to the enemy, i.e. treason.  The second is his using unmarked, unidentified thugs in full military gear to seize peaceful demonstrators from the streets and abduct them.  That is fascism.

I just looked at the Washington Post.  Plenty of stories about Coronavirus; so many that you get sick of hearing about it.  As for the other two?  Not a word.  These revelations about the betrayal of our country by the President of the United States are already well on their way to oblivion.  Few if any people will even remember their details by election day, in the face of the blizzard of mainstream press coverage of whatever phony atrocities the Republicans dream up to tell about Biden.

That is the true story of how Hillary lost four years ago:  Press collusion in seeing that Republican smears totally blocked out the truth.  And that is what it seems we are about to get again.

Rehearsal for the American Gestapo

The original Gestapo

You've all heard the news from Portland by now.  But once again, Trump is relying on people's inability to face what is really happening, and dismissing this as just one more stunt to enrage his base.

From the Washington Post:

"When several men in green military fatigues and generic “police” patches sprang out of an unmarked gray minivan in front of Mark Pettibone in the early hours of Wednesday morning, his first instinct was to run.

He did not know whether the men were police or far-right extremists, who frequently don militarylike outfits and harass left-leaning protesters in Portland, Ore. The 29-year-old resident said he made it about a half-block before he realized there would be no escape.

Then, he sank to his knees, hands in the air.

“I was terrified,” Pettibone told The Washington Post. “It seemed like it was out of a horror/sci-fi, like a Philip K. Dick novel. It was like being preyed upon.”

He was detained and searched. One man asked him if he had any weapons; he did not. They drove him to the federal courthouse and placed him in a holding cell. Two officers eventually returned to read his Miranda rights and ask if he would waive those rights to answer a few questions; he did not.

And almost as suddenly as they had grabbed him off the street, the men let him go.
Pettibone said he still does not know who arrested him or whether what happened to him legally qualifies as an arrest."

“Arrests require probable cause that a federal crime had been committed, that is, specific information indicating that the person likely committed a federal offense, or a fair probability that the person committed a federal offense,” Orin Kerr, a professor at University of California at Berkeley Law School, told The Post. “If the agents are grabbing people because they may have been involved in protests, that’s not probable cause.”

It's "not probable cause."  As if this behavior has anything at all to do with "cause."  It is in fact not arrests, but military rendition, i.e. kidnapping by armed men of unknown origin on the streets of an American city.  It is not law enforcement; it is open fascism absolutely indistinguishable from the behavior of Nazi Germany, with the exception that the Nazis were proud of who they were and always wore uniforms with appropriate insignia.

Note the reason that I call this a rehearsal:  The kidnapped victims were all let go within a short time.  This was a tryout to see if unknown armed men claiming to be from the government can actually seize peaceful citizens on the streets and get away with it, which at this point they seem to have accomplished.  Next time, or the time after that, their hostages will not be let go so quickly, and then soon enough they will not be let go at all; they will just disappear.

Newest no-bid contractor to the Trump administration

And at this point, you are a fool if you think I am overstating the case.  As Donald Trump realizes how strongly he is being rejected by the American people, he needs to escalate the means he employs to stay in power, and out of jail.  Now, three months before election day, the escalation has already reached the use of tactics that are universally associated with the worst dictatorships.  And we haven't begun to approach the peak of Coronavirus deaths that is going to come before election day- at least one responsible source now sees a possibility of 800,000 deaths by the end of the year- nor have we seen the social and economic carnage that is inevitably going to result from Trump's forced reopening of the schools.  Meanwhile, Vladimir Putin continues to pay for the deaths of American soldiers, without a hint of a response from Trump, and the Federal government is doing absolutely nothing to deal with the racial tensions that have overwhelmed the country.

Can anyone imagine that Trump is going to make it to election day without a couple more grotesque failures to lead the country?  We know his reaction to that will be more hatred and more repression.  And having deployed the Gestapo already, where does he have to go but to concentration camps, mass murder and all the other trappings of Nazi society?

And a little more:  From Charlie Pierce, who is always worth listening to:

"...if we know one thing, if this president* and his administration* get away with this, it will only get worse. You’d have to be out of your mind—or comatose since the Fall of 2016—not to suspect that this could be a dry run for the kind of general urban mobilization at which the president* has been hinting since this summer's protests began."

Any news organization that doesn't run this story under something resembling the headline:  "President brings open fascism to the United State" is betraying its role.

Happy Talk

I'm not suggesting we get all giddy about this, given the absolutely unbelievable amount of vote rigging and smearing that is going to be coming from the Republicans and their sociopathic billionaire supporters this fall, but it is still a fun read.  From an article at Daily Kos, the results of a new Quinnipiac University poll, showing Trump losing to Biden by 15%, and now behind Biden on the last issue he was still ahead on, his "handling" of the economy.  Quinnipiac is a highly rated polling operation, which in my memory tends to favor Republicans by a point or two, so it is not to be taken lightly.

As I say, the next four months are going to be possibly the most ghastly in our political history, so nothing is certain, but for once I am recommending that people read an article because it is happy, not scary.  Go ahead, you will enjoy it.

Trump's School Gamble

Donald Trump has always been one to make the big gamble.  It's why he started out with an inherited fortune and went bankrupt six time.  It's why his "university" and steak company and winery were failures, why his diplomatic efforts with North Korea and Iran were such total disasters, and it's why he ended up in deep debt to the Russians.

But in a way, of course, what Donald Trump does is not gambling, because his whole life has taught him that he never has to pay a price for his failure.  He always has found a way to climb back out of the muck, and in a society that values money and celebrity more than anything, he has always been a winner, even though he always loses.

Now, Trump is taking another gamble that may be the biggest one of all, in absolute confidence that as always, he will never pay a price.  Trump pretty well sees that unless the economy doesn't mount some significant signs of a comeback before election day, he is doomed, and will soon be trading in the Oval Office for a six foot by nine foot "office" which he will share with a 280 pound rapist.

We all know that Trump is the most solipsistic person anyone has ever seen.  The descriptions we see of malignant narcissm fit him so well, but don't seem to adequately reach his mental state, in which, as far as I can tell, he does not even recognize the existence of any person outside of himself, let alone care about them.  So any amount of damage he does to others is insignificant compared to the least gain to himself.  It's as if you or I had to kill off a character in a movie in order to save ourselves; of course trading nothing for our own lives would be a good deal.

Well, now we come to the gamble that Trump is now taking; trading the lives of others for his own survival.  Here is what I believe Trump is up to.  The major way he can goose the economy at this point is to allow all of the kids' parents to go back to work, and here is his vision for how that will play out.

Let's say that Trump succeeds in getting schools to reopen across the country this fall.  Say most schools open right after labor day, which would be September 8th.  Now, of course, not everyone who is going to become infected at school will do so the first day; lets say that it will take three weeks for infections to really take hold.  That would take us to the end of September.  We also know that hospitalizations, the first sign that something is really wrong, lag by about three weeks behind infection, which would bring us to about October 21st.  And the beginning of the spike in deaths from Coronavirus lags behind that by about two weeks.  That brings us to November 4th- the day after the election.

Trump, who always has a delusional belief that, as the smartest man in the world, everything he does is a brilliant strategy beyond the comprehension of ordinary mortals, would gladly adopt this plan, with complete confidence that he will once more pull off the great con.  In carrying out the plan, he will milk all of the economic benefits of ramping up the economy in the months before the election, while the deaths of children and the inevitable utter societal collapse will not happen until after it is too late to change the country's fate.  And this is his real plan to win re-election.

Let me be clear: This is not merely a cynical election ploy; it is committing mass murder in order to remain in political power.  It is a crime against humanity, exactly the same as the the slaughter in Rwanda, or the behavior of Assad in Syria, or the Nazi death camps or the Stalinist purges.  It will in one move place him in the category of the worst monsters in history.

And Trump is absolutely confident that, like everything else in his life, he will get away with it and emerge the winner.

This time, he will be wrong.  I don't believe that the American people, as degraded and propagandized as they are, will be willing to trade thousands, or hundreds of thousands, of dead children for a temporary bump in the stock market.  Listen carefully through the fall mists in Washington DC this year, and you may just hear the tumbrels rolling through the streets.

Wingnut Wrapup

Boy. I can't wait to see how these idiots try to spin Trump's commuting of Roger Stone's sentence- maybe the most overt corrupt act ever committed by an American President.  But first, let's take a look at a representative of the mainstream press, the Washington Post.  I don't mean to single them out; they are getting so much attention today because I subscribe to them, but they are indicative of the way the mainstream press has covered Presidential elections in this country since Ronald Reagan, and despite all of the damage Trump has done, it looks like they are gearing up to do it again.

Eugene Scott, Washington Post:  "Trump’s defeats at the Supreme Court could help shore up his support from evangelicals"

Remember "Good news for John McCain?"  Everything was good news for John McCain until he lost.  Well, here it is again, 2020 version.  Even defeats mean that Trump is winning.  Expect this to be a major mainstream media theme from now to election day.  This will accompany the totally predictable stories about "Democrats in disarray," which are already prevalent to explain how a candidate that has a twelve point lead despite their ignoring him almost every day is still right on the verge of a landslide loss.  We will show no favoritism here at Wingnut Wrapup; when mainstream outlets parrot the same garbage that our usual sources do, we will include them too.  But wait, there's more:

Sean Sullivan, Washington Post:  "Liberals want more from Biden than an anti-Trump message.  Some liberals question Joe Biden’s lack of specifics and an abundance of caution on certain policies. One said she is unsure what a Biden presidency would look like beyond “Trump is gone.”

This is their Biden coverage.  Biden, of course, has a fully developed set of policy proposals, but the Washington Post decided to ignore all of that, and just lie about it, the same way the mainstream press did with Hillary Clinton.  No similar article, by the way, about "some conservatives question whether Donald Trump, who has repeatedly been unable to explain what he would do in a second term, had to offer beyond racism and hatred."  Maybe that's because there are no conservatives who care about anything but racism and hatred.

Ashley Parker, Philip Rucker and  Josh Dawsey, Washington Post:  "Trump has always exhibited a healthy ego"

No he hasn't.  He has always exhibited a deeply diseased and malignant ego.  It took three Washington Post writers to come up with this grotesque lie.  And it's only July.  Get ready for what is to come, when they decide they just have to report whatever smear the Republicans cook up about Biden, to "balance" the constant revelations of Trump's criminality.

"One senior administration official rejected the notion that Trump views himself as a victim, saying instead that he has repeatedly expressed his frustration over a virus that seemed to emerge out of nowhere and has ravaged the country, and that his only concern is for the victims of the pandemic."

You couldn't find a better specimen of blatant lying and repetition of the Republican party line at Town Hall or Gateway Pundit.

Hal Turner:  "ANTIFA To Desecrate Gettysburg National Cemetery on July 4 - Then MURDER & BURN White Suburbs under cover of "Fireworks...These groups will attempt to hijack one of this nation's greatest holidays and turn into a dark day in hell."

Just listing this item to show that Green Eagle is not infallible.  It's past July 4th, and I didn't even notice white suburbs being burned by Antifa.  The story must have been blacked out by the fake news media.

Before it's News:  "The Second Wave Of Covid-19 Will Be Laced With Bubonic Plague And Probably Ebola."

I'd be interested to know how you "lace" a virus with two other diseases.  I'd also be interested in the thought process that leads a person to tell lies like this without a shred of concern for the damage they are doing.  I've thought about that question for decades without ever being able to come up with an answer.

Cortney O'Brien, Town Hall:  "Pelosi Gloats Over SCOTUS Trump Tax Return Rulings"

I hope so.  She deserves a chance to gloat, after what she has had to put up with.

Kurt Schlichter, Town Hall:  "This Is A Great Opportunity To Destroy Academia...Let’s be clear: Academia today is a pack of rabid reds, and we need to put it down like Old Yeller."

And I don't want to let Kurt go so easily, so here's some more:

"We have no moral obligation to subsidize a generation of brats...If these bozos are considered “educated,” I’ll stick with the allegedly ignorant. At least someone without an Ivy League degree can give me a hand changing my oil or, you know, defending the Constitution with a rifle."

Defending the Constitution with a rifle.   They can't, of course, make any rational, decent argument for what they want, so they will just shoot their way into control.  Which, by the way, is not defending the Constitution. as far as I can tell.  And by the way, Kurt, if you are such a man of the people, why can't you change your own damned oil?

Loyd Pettigrew, Town Hall:  "Why Conservatives Must Vote in the 2020 Primaries and General Election"

Because the government they elected in 2016 has done such a great job of running the country that we need four more years of it.

Matt Vespa, Town Hall:  "Can You Blame Them? Legions of New York's Finest Are Submitting Their Exit Papers"

Yes, I can blame them, Matt; very easily.  They are a bunch of spoiled bullies who are going to take their ball and go home if they are expected to play nicely.  So, good riddance, assholes.  P.S.- exactly who are the snowflakes here?

Beth Baumann, Town Hall:  "Uh Oh: Sleepy Joe's Caught Stealing Policy Agendas... Again"

Oh well, that's still better than stealing actual money from kids with cancer, like Donald Trump did.  By the way, don't miss the implication of this piggish comment:  It is an abomination for a Democrat to see a good policy idea and adopt it.  No, better they should run everything by trusting their "gut" like Trump.  And this seems to be a theme recently:

Mike Miller, Red State:  "Biden Releases Recommendations for DNC Platform — After Copying & Pasting Right Out of Bernie’s Playbook"

Getting together with other Democrats to produce a platform that all Democrats can support is apparently a vicious, underhanded act.  Several articles in the right wing media lately refer to what he did, which is advocating for ideas that originated with someone else, as plagiarism.  If nothing else, this shows how little ground they are gaining with their smears of Biden.

Gateway Pundit:  "WAYNE ROOT: Was This Our Last Fourth of July?"

Grow up, jerk.

And here is how the two Supreme Court decisions, dealing Donald Trump a massive blow on the issue of his taxes are interpreted on the right:

Katie Pavlich, Town Hall:  "House Democrats Bring Their Sloppy Work to SCOTUS"

And won.  I guess Trump's justice department is even sloppier, what with firing all the real lawyers and replacing them with crooked toadies.

Jim Hoft, Gateway Pundit:  "BREAKING: SCOTUS Rules Congressional Investigators Not Allowed to Subpoena President Trump’s Financial Records"

This is, of course, a lie.  What the Supreme Court ruled was, first that the State investigators in New York can certainly have Trump's tax records, and second that Congress can have them too, but only in return for a more tightly detailed request.    In any case, this is a massive legal victory for those who want Trump to be held responsible for his crimes, but a total political victory for Trump, who can easily stall the actual turning over of those tax returns until after the election.

And Jim is hardly done with his piggish lying today:

Jim Hoft, Gateway Pundit:  "Biden-Sanders want...a foreign policy that funds the Ayatollahs for their terror projects in the region."

Democrats want to fund Ayatollahs and their terrorism.  Maybe like Ronald Reagan did when he gave the Ayatollahs two thousand missiles in the Iran-Contra scandal.  Or maybe like when the incompetent Bush appointees in Iraq allowed billions of dollars to fall into the hands of Shiite militias.

Peter Lemiska, Renew America:  "Defunding the police – An insane solution to a fabricated problem"

Because, see, police killing black Americans is not a real problem, since blacks are worthless anyway and have no right to live.  That's pretty much what Peter was getting at.

Sean Moran, Breitbart:  "Burgess Owens: America Will See a ‘Renaissance’ with Trump Re-Elected, GOP House"

And free ponies for all white people.  Burgess Owens is a Republican Congressional candidate and former Oakland Raider.  Sounds like he had a few too many concussions.

Jeffrey Folks, American Thinker:  "How Antifa and Black Lives Matter Compare with Satan"

Yup, that really is the title of Jeffrey's article.  It sure is.  Jeffrey explains:

"At the heart of today's protests is a refusal to accept authority.  It may feel godlike to swarm through the streets, smashing, burning, and assaulting the police, but that sort of criminality can only lead to worse things.  When Satan was defeated in his rebellion against God, he was condemned to spend the rest of his days in Hell.  He spent eternity as a bitter outcast, seeking revenge and plotting against God.

According to God.  For all we know, Satan did the sensible thing and forgot about the whole fight with that intolerable prig, and has spent the time ever since partying.

That gives us some idea of what's in store for the radicals protesting in the streets today."

Refusal to accept the "authority" of a racist would-be dictator who ended up in the White House through a treasonous collaboration with our biggest foreign enemy.  That is apparently Satanic.  No mention of the right wing assholes who showed up outside Statehouses with automatic rifles to force leaders to abandon health policies that have worked everywhere else in the world.

Civis Americanus, American Thinker:  "Could a good employment lawyer argue that an employer's or university's support for BLM constitutes an actionable hostile work environment or hostile learning environment?"

No.  But a bad lawyer could.  Luckily, the right has plenty of those.

Andrea Widberg, American Thinker:  "Flynn judge files a ridiculous request with the Court of Appeals...Judge Emmet Sullivan didn't like being kicked off the Flynn case, and he's filed a weak motion to have all the judges on the court review the earlier order."

It is, of course, absolutely standard practice for someone who objects to an appeals decision from a three judge panel to ask for an en banc reconsideration, which the court has granted.  What makes this one "ridiculous" is that Trump doesn't like it.  And this is a good time to point out that this decision was written by Naomi Rao, a judge just rammed through the Senate by Mitch McConnell, despite being found to be grossly incompetent to be a Federal judge, and who is nothing but a right wing religious fanatic.

William L. Gensert, American Thinker:  "Beating Trump will not go well for Democrats"

An advancement on the constant Republican claim that Biden's consistent double digit lead is a really bad thing for Democrats, another new version of "Good news for John McCain" journalism:  Now, even if they win, it will be bad for Democrats.  Well, at least William is one right wing liar who has a pretty good idea where this is all headed.

"Their desire to rule by decree in the variegated agglomeration of 50 different countries tied together in a federation that constitutes our republic will only intensify with the Democratic Party pulling off a national sweep in federal elections this November."

Leaving aside the fact that there is no President in history who has tried to "rule by decree" anywhere near as much as Trump, can I just point out that this guy is now claiming that the States are separate countries.  As if he doesn't know this, that claim was pretty much rejected in the Civil War.

Susan Stamper Brown, Town Hall:  "Why It Sucks to be a Democrat in 2020... the Democratic Party is in a death spiral of its own making."

Man, I can't wait to see this.  That is going to be some kind of death spiral, going from wiping Trump and the Senate Republicans out in the polls straight to hell.

"We should be thankful."

Well, Green Eagle is thankful that reality is hitting wingnuts so hard in the head that they have to pretend to believe things like this.

Ellie Bufkin, Town Hall:  "No Voter Fraud, Eh Democrats? A Dead Cat Just Got A Voter Registration Form"

Yeah, but in order for that to be voter fraud the dead cat would have to fill the form out, send it in, get on the ballot and actually cast a vote.  I wonder how many actual dead cat votes Ellie can point to.

Guy Benson, Town Hall:  "Biden Vows: If Elected, I'll Force Those Catholic Nuns to Violate Their Beliefs on Contraception Again"

I am sorry to be so blunt, but at this point, given the trouble this country is in, and the record of the Catholic Church in recent decades, while these nuns stood by and said nothing, who gives a flying fuck about Catholic nuns and their so-called "beliefs?"

And here it comes:

David Zublick, Dark Outpost:  "Child sex trafficking investigators from the FBI’s New York field office have conducted an interview with a victim who provided chilling details about allegedly being raped by Bill Clinton on a yacht in New England when the victim was a young boy. The interview and the allegations against Clinton are both detailed and disturbing.

Detailed, disturbing and an utter lie, of course.  David continues:

Dark Outpost has decided to share the video of the victim’s account in his own words which contain explosive details of the alleged assault and much more. Plus…an interview with a man who claims to have seen not one but two videos in which Hillary Clinton and her aide Huma Abedin commit unspeakable acts against innocent preteen girls. Leave the world you think you know behind and join us at the Dark Outpost!"

"A victim..."  A man..."  God, there are dozens of accounts of this "story" that you can find in two minutes with Google.  Not a single one of them, of course, from anything resembling a real media outlet, and in none of them are there any real details of the story. As bad as it is, I think I will stick with this world, rather than joining David at the Dark Outpost.

Before it's News:  "[Beware!] "Something Is Happening With Our Moon"

Well, at least now you know.

Jeff Charles, Red State:  "Top GOP Pollster: Trump Needs To Go On The Offensive Against Biden"

Well, running on his own record doesn't seem to be working, does it?

Paula Boyard, PJ Media:  "“There really isn’t any reason to not put children back in school since they are not the vulnerable population,” said (Melanie) Elsey, a former educator."

No, unless you care if they get sick and die.  Well, at least Melanie is a former educator, and is now undoubtedly in seclusion where she can do no harm.

Tyler O'Neil, PJ Media:  "Look Out, Joe Biden: Here Comes Trump's Second-Term Agenda"

And here it is...

And at this point, don't even try to tell me that I am exaggerating.

Rick Moran, PJ Media:  "Army Investigating Training Materials That Declare 'MAGA' Is 'Covert White Supremacy'

And Rick is right here.  MAGA is not covert white supremacy; it is overt white supremacy.  There; I saved the Army a lot of trouble with their investigation.

Jim Hoft, Gateway Pundit:  "A Salute to Roger Stone with a Song from Mint Chip: “They Wanna Get Me Like I’m Roger Stone”

Mint Chip, legendary composer of songs such as "Red Lobster Date with Ann Coulter," "EXPOSEANTIFA"  and  "KAMALA HARRIS IS A COP."  Yup, you now have his three other songs that have made it onto Youtube. Relax, Rolling Stones, your status as the world's greatest rock and roll band is not in threat.  And yes, I did listen to “They Wanna Get Me Like I’m Roger Stone.”  I don't advise following my example.  Not if you care about music anyway. Or have just eaten lunch.  If you really have to listen to something, try this:

See, that wasn't so bad now, was it?

And now, as promised, a few wingnut comments on Trump's criminal commutation of Roger Stone's sentence:

Jim Hoft, Gateway Pundit:  "Pencil Neck Schiff BLOWS A GASKET After President Trump Commutes Roger Stone’s Sentence"

"Blows a gasket" apparently being right wing speak for objecting to the President of the United States committing open crimes in the White House.

Streiff, Red State:  "Robert Mueller’s Whining About Roger Stone Not Going to Prison Is the Kind of Unmanly Behavior We’ve Come to Expect From Him"

It is unmanly to respect the rule of law.  It is, however, apparently very manly to whine in public about every thing that anyone says about him, and complain that, although he inherited $400 million dollars, life has been very unfair to him.

Joe Hoft, Gateway Pundit:  "We Now Know Obama and Mueller’s Teams Were Corrupt – Their Top Four Witnesses Included Liars, a Drug Addict, a Convicted Pedophile and a Pervert"

You go with the witnesses you have, not the ones you might want, to paraphrase a famous Republican.  We got that kind of witnesses, you idiot, because that is the kind of people who Donald Trump associated with.  I'm sure Mueller would have rather called on the Pope to testify, but unfortunately, the Pope has no personal knowledge of Trump's criminal behavior.

Nick Arama: "Pelosi Wants to Ignore the Constitution and Control Who President Can Pardon"

Let's be clear here.  The President's power to pardon is not absolute.  If he uses the pardon for an illegal purpose, he has committed a crime, period.  And pardoning or commuting the sentence of a convicted felon in return for his silence about the President's own crimes is bribery and subornation of perjury.  It is a crime.  Even when committed by the Greatest President Of All Time.

Matt Margolis, PJ Media:  "President Trump Just Commuted Roger Stone's Sentence, and the Left Is Freaking Out...Enjoy the outrage mob. There’s a lot more where that came from."

Well, we all know that is really what this is all about, other than keeping Trump's corrupt ass out of jail- owning the libs.  That's what Conservatives really care about, and anything that outrages liberals is a great thing, regardless of how much damage it does to the country.

Matt Vespa, Town Hall:  "Liberal Reporter: Yes, The Mueller Probe's ‘Hysterical Fallacies' Is Cause For Roger Stone's Commutation"

That liberal lawyer would be one Michael Tracey, whose main claim to fame is spending years producing documentaries trying to convict Jon Benet Ramsey's parents of killing her, only to have DNA evidence prove him wrong.  How that makes him a "liberal lawyer," or anything but a monumental asshole, I don't know, but I will point out that the jury in Stone's case found the 'hysterical fallacies' to be convincing enough that they found him guilty on all seven counts, by a unanimous vote.

Well, enough of Roger Stone.  Pretty weak beer there, but that's pretty much what they were able to come up with.

Dr. Luke Prophet:  "Cern is trying to tear the veil and open a portal and I expect that Cern will indeed be successful in 2021 when they ramp up production.  I believe Satan has the technology now to open the portal and tear the veil.  When the veil is torn, there will be gigantic monsters returning to earth along with more demonic zombies entering into our dimension."
An illustration from this article.

Well, don't tell us we didn't warn you.

"Satan is also trying to suck Jesus the Messiah into a black hole when He returns with His myriad (millions) of Angels."

Who knew Satan was so up on science?  And wouldn't it be easier to just give Jesus the Coronavirus?

And now, history, Republican style:

Brabantian, Henry Makow.com:  "Quite seriously, nuclear weapons have never existed. Hiroshima and Nagasaki were only two more horrible urban napalm fire-bombings, less devastating in fact than the one that hit Tokyo five months earlier – but re-packaged with a fake story of a ‘new awesome weapon’.

Ten countries in total have claimed to have nuclear weapons, and this is actually the scary part of the hoax, showing how major world governments collude."

A perversion of history, kept secret by hundreds of thousands of scientists, politicians and technicians for over seventy years, without one single person ever breaking ranks and telling the truth.  Finally, we have a right wing blog to break the silence and let us know what really happened.

Roy Spencer, Town Hall  If 2020 Is the Warmest Year … So What?"

So what if we all die, as long as rich guys make big profits in the process.

Tyler O'Neil, PJ Media:  "Lifting Lockdowns Not the Culprit Behind New Surge in Coronavirus Cases, Doctor Says"

The doctor in question being one Scott Atlas, M.D., a "senior fellow" at the Hoover Institution, which is a notorious right wing lie factory.  Just one more example of right wingers manufacturing their own "experts" to spread their garbage when the facts are so totally against them.

Renaming a Football Team

So, today, the team formerly known as the Washington Redskins finally gave in to pressure from rich people, and promised to rename themselves.

I have heard several suggestions for new names, most having a somewhat native American character.  However, Green Eagle thinks this would be wrong.  I suggest that the team pick a name that unites all people, regardless of race; a name that features something that all people have.  The name I have come up with is the Washington Assholes.

Bad boys, bad boys Whatcha gonna do?

The following is a blatant theft of mine, but it is, I think, so startling that I am showing it here anyway.  At least I can list the sources for the article, which was written by Indi Samarajiva  at Medium, who refers to the United States as a "plague state," and can be found here.  I got to it through a listing by M. Bouffant at the daily blog roundup at Crooks and Liars.

This is a map of the countries of the world (shown in green) that will still allow people with US passports to enter without a visa:

This map was virtually all green two years ago, except for China, Russia, and parts of the Middle East and Muslim countries in Africa.

So, if your travel plans this year include Turkey or Tanzania or Antigua, knock yourself out.  Otherwise, stay home in your disease ridden hellhole, sucker.
