I guess the enraged, infantile behavior in the White House has hit a new low with this disgusting remark by Donald Trump, attempting to duck responsibility for his miserable administration's leaking embarrassing reports like a sieve: "President Donald Trump said he believes former President Barack Obama has been behind the leaks within his administration and the sizable, angry town hall crowds Republicans have faced across the country.   Trump was asked in an interview on Fox News' "Fox and Friends" if he believed Obama was responsible for the town hall protests against Republicans this month.   "It turns out his organization seems to do a lot of these organizing to some of the protests that these Republicans are seeing around the country against you. Well, here comes one of Green Eagle's favorite kinds of posts.  First, however, I've got to deal with this: Ha ha ha. Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha. Ha ha.  Ha ha. Ha ha ha. Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha. Anyone who cares may have noticed that it has been a while since my last Wingnut Wrapup.  I just want to say that this is not because I have given up on them, or that I haven't been looking at the wingnut sites.  Something very strange is going on in the right wing world.  I'm not sure why, but I'm going to guess that it is likely because even they are stunned by the childish behavior of the monster they elected.  In any event, I've seen a real listlessness over there; an inability to rise to anything close to their normal level of laughable viciousness and delusion.  I'm sure they will recover their hateful mojo soon, and I'll be there to report it, but at the moment, there's just nothing there to take much interest in.

Listen, Trump's treatment of the press us abominable.  But really, let's have some perspective on things. A typical response to his excluding some mainstream press outlets from a briefing, from Dan Rather: "The time for normalizing, dissembling, and explaining away Donald Trump has long since passed. The barring of respected journalistic outlets from the White House briefing is so far beyond the norms and traditions that have governed this republic for generations, that they must be seen as a real and present threat to our democracy...This is an emergency..." An emergency.  As, apparently it is not an emergency when Trump acts to steal health care from thirty million people or so, or when he destroys Social Security, casting perhaps fifty million or more people who are too old to work into abject poverty, or when he begins the process of creating a national police force responsible only to him, or when he casts his eyes abroad, obviously looking for a war to st...

So, our President has now banned the New York Times, the Washington Post, the Los Angeles Times (the three best remaining newspapers in the country) and CNN from White House press briefings. This is an act of such unbridled viciousness, lawlessness and stupidity that it is bizarre even for the traitor who currently lives in the White House.  So why did he do it? I'm going to make a big prediction here.  I could be dead wrong, and Trump could be even more crazy and out of control than I've given him credit for, but I believe something else is going on here. I am going to predict that, in the next few weeks, we are about to learn things that make it impossible for any rational person to deny that Trump is a willing tool of Putin.  He and his people know this, so there is only one strategy left open to them: to attempt to so discredit the press that, when things really go south, they hope that the people who put him in the White House will simply deny the truth of anythi...

He's being nice to Jews! He's being nice to black people! Is there anyone on earth who thinks that this is how he really feels? For once, the guy has figured out that he is hanging on to his job by his fingernails, and the crocodiles are waiting below.  It'll last two or three days or so, and then his outrage at being challenged will get the better of him; or at least that's the way that it always has gone before. We've got the bastard on the run.  Keep digging into him.  It's going to be a fun ride. Traveling today, so I am not going to give this story the attention it deserves until tonight or tomorrow, but this is an explosive development, the significance of which will be ignored as much as possible by the mainstream press. We learn that agents of Trump, including his personal lawyer, have delivered a proposal to Russia that the current government of Ukraine be removed, in favor of one led by a pro-Russian party created by Russia, which will enter into an agreement allowing Russia to stay in Crimea.  This would, in some perverted reasoning, provide a justification for claiming that there is no reason to maintain the sanctions on Russia which were imposed when it invaded Crimea. Russia and our absolutely not self-serving Secretary of State Tillerson get their $500 billion dollar deal, Putin gets the big payoff from Trump, and the only losers are the people of Ukraine and the United States.  Winners all around!  Are you tired enough of winning yet? I listened to a few minutes of Trump's speech at his Nuremberg rally down in Florida today.  It is virtually an endless succession of lies, except when he promised to do things that benefit the rich, like doing away with regulations against oil and coal companies or unilaterally violating existing trade agreements.  Just every single Trump lie, one after another. Well, what do you expect?

Hey, I guess it doesn't mean very much, but Donald Trump is not only taking his third weekend vacation in three weeks, but this time, by virtue of giving a few minutes' speech about two miles from the airport in Charleston, he's managing to expand to a three day weekend.

The people who have seen the real evidence of what Trump and his toadies have been up to with Putin, which includes a large number of intelligence officers, and many members of Congress, are faced with a painful dilemma.  On the one hand, revealing this information to the public will be treated as a monstrous crime, for which they will be savaged.  On the other hand, their clear duty to the Constitution, and any concern they have over the survival of our country, demand that what they know be made public. At some point, we are going to need a Daniel Ellsberg, who was initially charged with conspiracy, espionage and theft of government property, for revealing information which every American needed to know about the conduct of the Vietnam war.  As the monstrous nature of what he revealed dawned on people, the charges were dropped, but that does not mean that the far more corrupt Republican party we have today will have the same concern about the horrors perpetrated by t...

In a very dark cloud: I think that the utter, brain-dead fools who make up the Republican base were going to go on for eternity, denying what was obvious to anyone who can put two thoughts together.  Maybe the only way to put a stop to it all was to let them have exactly the government they have been screaming for, and let them see what would happen. They didn't even get it when their halfway lunatic Republican Bush government brought them a three trillion dollar war of aggression and (but for the grace of Barack Obama) a massive depression.  Well, this time they went whole hog. And let's give a big thank you to Donald Trump, who showed the world in just four weeks what Conservative government is all about.  This way, we won't have to wait four years to return to sanity; or twelve years and fifty million deaths, as was the case with the Nazis.

I think that, as cynical as we have become, we really need to take stock of just how surrounded we are with traitors, and just how many strings Putin was pulling in the last election.  Was even the supposedly left wing candidacy of Jill Stein a Russian/Republican dirty trick?  How screwed are we?

I want to write briefly about two aspects of the current Trump nightmare that I have not seen discussed, or at least two predictions of where this may lead us. First, consider this:  The Trump administration has now reached a point of no return.  The damage they have done to themselves will never be fully healed, even if somehow they hold on to power.  No matter what happens from here out, there are massive numbers of Americans who will never trust them, and (legitimately so) will never give them the benefit of the doubt.  It took them only four weeks to go from the normal honeymoon to this abysmal position. Well, okay, but here's the problem: one more incident like the several we have already seen, and they will be wounded beyond cure.  At that point, there is exactly one thing, and only one thing that could keep Trump in power: a war.  So, we need to be vigilant for any signs that they are preparing for war, which in this case will not consist of mili...

A bunch of stuff from the last few days that I need to shovel out there, in preparation for the Flynn freakout that is going to get into high gear any moment now. Well, this has certainly been an interesting 24 hours. There is so much talk about this that I am not going to recount all the details here.  I just want to note that Michael Flynn is the third high level Trump associate to have to be disappeared because of ties to and payoffs from the Russians, the others being former campaign chairman Paul Manafort and Carter Page. I don't recall any President in history to have people in this position forced out because of ties to a hostile foreign government.  And Trump, only three weeks into his Presidency, now has three.  Is there anyone on earth naive enough to believe that Trump himself is not involved in this treasonous relationship with Russia? Well, that's it.  The problem is that the American people have been so propagandized all of their lives to believe that our form of government is immune to corruption and betrayal on this level, that most Americans cannot emotionally process what is going on right in front of t...

Well- three weeks and two vacations.  Glad Donald is taking his job seriously.
