Another Victory for Republican Economic Policy

Republican control of government accomplishes their purpose:

"N.J. faces 'tough choices' after $800 million revenue shortfall in April ...The state's budget gap in New Jersey is widening, and lawmakers are trying to figure out what to do about it.

April's income tax revenues from the state's wealthiest residents are far less than expected, and the overall shortfall for the current fiscal year is $800 million below the Christie administration's projections.

Lawmakers will have to make some tough choices, said state Sen. Tony Bucco, the ranking Republican on the Senate Budget Committee."

Hmm...The rich people aren't paying their share, thanks to Republican government.  What a huge surprise!  Well, what do you think they will do to make up the difference, raise tax rates on the rich?

"Lawmakers said they don't expect the state to reduce its payment into the pension system to help make up for the revenue shortfall.

But Gov. Chris Christie said Tuesday that nothing is off the table to fund ways of balancing the state budget..."
Make the State workers pay!  and then go to work on other non-rich people!  Republicanism at work!

Thanks to Eschaton for the link to this article.

Dear Mr. Kerry:

In case you have forgotten who the bad guys are in the Middle East, maybe you should read this story:

"Beirut (AFP) - The jihadist Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant announced it had executed seven prisoners in its bastion in northeastern Syria on Tuesday, two of them by crucifixion."

In my mind, that is a little worse than building a wall, or allowing the construction of some suburbs in Jerusalem.  But then what do I know?  Maybe it is Israel's responsibility to make a "peace treaty" with Hamas, which remains committed to the extermination of all Jews worldwide.  Maybe wanting to live is apartheid, at least if you are a Jew.

But like I say, what do I know?

Banned for Life

So, the NBA seems to be doing all it can to ditch that son of a bitch Donald Sterling.  All I want to know is why they didn't do it twenty years ago when it became clear that he had no intention of fielding a competitive team as long as he could make a profit on a crummy one.  People in Los Angeles had to wait all this time for (through some kind of cosmic accident) the Clippers to start winning, and in the middle of their first serious playoff run since the Hoover administration, this has to happen.  Oh well, new NBA commissioner Gollum (shown below- and who knew they liked basketball in Middle Earth) is throwing the book at him.

Bundy- It Ain't Over Yet

I hate to keep harping on this, but in case you didn't know this, a lot of the militia members that ran with their guns to the "defense" of Cliven Bundy are still there:

"Concerns are growing about members of the militia surrounding rancher Cliven Bundy.

Democratic Rep. Steven Horsford, sent a letter to Clark County Sheriff Doug Gillespie about the safety of residents in the Bunkerville area. Horsford says his constituents have "expressed concern" over the presence of armed militia groups from out of state.

According to Horsford, his constituents say the militia have set up checkpoints where residents must prove they live in the area before they are allowed to pass and have set up a "persistent presence" along federal highways, and state and county roads. They also claim some have established an armed presence in the community.

Horsford told the sheriff that the militia are making people feel unsafe.'

These are violent, deranged individuals who are being egged on by many national Republican leaders and their spokesmen, and we all know that they are just praying for a chance to start shooting.  I must say, I don't know what the government can do at this point, but I will say that we are in the process of moving one step closer to an incredibly ugly situation in this country, in which a lot of people are going to be hurt.

A Prediction About the 2014 Election

Many people seem to have already written off the 2014 Congressional elections for Democrats, including Nate Silver, whose predictions that Republicans will retain control of the House and very likely take control of the Senate have received widespread publicity.

There is, however, one factor that Silver's mathematical models cannot predict.  That is the likelihood that, between now and November, in keeping with past behavior, a number of Republican adherents are going to do and say things that will prove a serious embarrassment for them.

I think Cliven Bundy was the first of these "gaffes" this year- gaffes which always consist in failing to conceal what Republicans really believe.  There will be others, and from people more connected with the party establishment.  Yes, it will be necessary for Democrats to take advantage of these Republican lapses, and yes, Democrats have proven sadly inept at doing so, but this year's Republican fools will be appearing any time now, and as in the past, they provide a chance to damage the massively financed Republican electoral juggernaut.

It has been my observation that polls, in general, don't really tell us that much before the September before an election.  I'll stick with that.  Now, bring on the clowns.

I don't need to add my voice to the chorus of attacks on the comments of this degraded asshole, but I would like to ask if there is anyone on earth who thinks that this woman is attracted to anything but Sterling's money, or that this geezer is attracted to anything but...well, it's pretty obvious. Is there anyone who could believe that she feels any emotional attachment to Sterling? This woman is not Sterling's girlfriend, she is a prostitute on a long-term contract.  Just one more sign of what a schmuck Sterling is.

Wingnut Wrapup

First, this great entrant in the "Scandals That Are Going Nowhere" contest:

Bowing to a robot.  No matter how stupid their scandals are, they never give up on them.  Do I need to tell you that this story is all over the right wing internet world today?

And another challenger appears:

Sarah Seaman, Town Hall:  "Dem Commencement Speakers Outnumber Republicans 57-to-26"

If it was based on how likely they were to tell the truth, Democrats would outnumber Republicans by 57,000 to 0.  But I guess recent graduates need a few lies to start them out in life.  Like the notion that they are going to get a fair break on anything in this country.  Otherwise they'd all slit their throats.

Bryan Preston, PJ Media:  "Emanuel’s Plan to Build Elite ‘Barack Obama High School’ in an Upscale Chicago Neighborhood Has Parents Enraged"

Naming a school after a President from your city: an abomination!  Well, at least if the President is a Democrat.  If the President was a Republican, it's okay to name the whole damned ocean after him.  When are these people ever going to grow up?

Jim Hoft, Gateway Pundit:  "Wayne Allyn Root: Here’s Why Reid Is Calling Patriots “Domestic Terrorists”

Because when you hide behind a piece of concrete and point a sniper rifle at  government workers, that's what you are?  No, it's because Harry Reid and Obama are MARXISTS!  It's all so simple when you understand things.

John Howard, Human Events:  "Akinization – the process of smearing every Republican with the words of any other GOP politician, or apparently even private citizens with high media profiles, named in honor of dumbass 2012 Senate candidate Todd Akin – has become a weapon of mass destruction.  The shock waves from an Akin strike in Nevada can hit a guy in Texas.

Of course, this process is never, ever employed against Democrat"

Maybe that's because Democrats aren't a bunch of hate-filled pricks.

"Leaving aside these one-sided political games, what do Cliven Bundy’s thoughts on slavery, or anything else, have to do with the incident that boosted him into the public eye?  The story was never really about him; it’s about what the Bureau of Land Management did."

What, asked him to pay his bills?  And by the way, since he opened his big fat mouth, the story is about him now.  Deal with it.

"If we accept the premise that the rights and privileges of citizens depend on political correctness – it becomes OK for the federal government to use stormtrooper tactics against someone, if the majority of Americans conclude he’s a jerk – we’ve embraced a core tenet of totalitarianism."

"Stormtrooper tactics" apparently meaning when they ran out of patience after he spent a decade running up a million dollar bill.  I wonder if that qualifies my bankers as Sturmabteilung troops when they expect me to pay the mortgage.

Bryan Preston, PJ Tatler:  "Cliven Bundy Utters Racist Remark, Liberals Everywhere Rejoice"

See? It's the liberals who are to blame.  Well, at least this guy admitted that the remarks were racist, instead of just declaring that Bundy was speaking the truth and had his words twisted by liberals (accomplished in a typical sneaky Democratic maneuver by quoting him verbatim.)  By the way, did you notice any liberals rejoicing? No?  Me either.  Rejoicing is pretty well reserved for Republicans to do when the economy craters.

The Editors, PJ Media:  "Hot Topic: Should It Be Illegal in the U.S. to Burn Aborted Fetuses for Electricity?"

Man, that's desperate, huh?

David Goldman, PJ Media:  "Gabriel Garcia Marquez: Beloved, For All the Wrong Reasons...Garcia Marquez lied about the violent causes of Colombia's civil war."

David, I hate to break it to you, but this is one more "scandal" that isn't going anywhere, particularly since not one American in two hundred has a clue who Gabriel Garcia Marquez is, or cares what he has to say about the civil war in Columbia. But he is a highly regarded intellectual, so I guess he must be a liberal.

Victor Davis Hanson, PJ Media:  "To paraphrase the ancients, sometimes we’d rather be wrong with Cliven Bundy than right with Harry Reid."

And that really says a lot about you, Victor.

Andrew C. McCarthy, PJ Media:  :Clemency for Drug Offenders Is More Presidential Lawlessness Disguised as Pardon Power"

No, Andrew,it's pardon power disguised as pardon power.  A neat trick on Obama's part.

Roger Kimball, PJ Media:  "No other recent president has worked harder at squandering the trust of the American people."

I was going to say, forgot about Bush again, huh, Roger, but then I realized that Bush didn't have to work hard at all to end up with a 22% approval rating.  It came naturally to him.

Wes Vernon, Renew America:  "The war on terror: whose side are we on?"

And here I thought this was going to be about the 1500 armed terrorists that showed up to threaten government workers.  No, it was about Benghazi.  What a surprise.

Bob Unruh, World Net Daily:  "Black leader says Bundy remarks not racist"

Whoopeedoo, Bob!  You found one!  You must be so proud.  And who is this Black Leader?  Alan Keyes, one of the most vicious liars in the whole Republican stable, and a sore loser who got the pants beaten off of him by Obama when his Republican masters sent him to Illinois because he was the only black man who would try this sleazy tactic to stop Obama, and has never stopped plotting his pathetic revenge.  Boy, that really proves something, doesn't it?

Joseph Farah, World Net Daily:  "New York Times sting entraps Bundy...Exclusive: Joseph Farah says paper hopes to sully public officials who support rancher"

Well, at least Farah is aware that it sullies public officials who support a filthy, open racist.  As for entrapment, as far as I know, the jerk moved his own mouth, and repeated the same views to Fox News and CNN. He "entrapped" himself.

Here is a little more of what Farah has to say:

"Here’s what Bundy allegedly said while driving past a public-housing project in North Las Vegas:"

Well, I don't need to repeat it- we've all heard what the guy said.  What I like is the "allegedly," which is like saying that the moon "allegedly" goes around the earth.  Of course, Farah claims Obama was born in Kenya, so maybe we shouldn't put too much stock in what he claims to believe.

Michelle Malkin, National Review Online:  "Obama's Whitewash Puppies"

Whitewash puppies.  Do you even want to know what this is about?  I sure don't.

Myra Adams, National Review Online:  "Bill Clinton: First Dude...Is America ready for another “two-fer” Clinton presidency?"

I've got big news for you, Myra.  If Bill Clinton could run again, the American people would snap up another one-fer from him in about ten seconds.  So watch what you wish for, because it turns out for some inexplicable reason that a blow job in the White House didn't bother the American people anywhere as much as Reagan and Bush screwing the whole economy.

World Net Daily:  "A... video revealed an African-American bodyguard promised he would “take a bullet” for Bundy.  On the CNN video, a reporter said Bundy was “wondering whether African Americans would be better off as slaves. How does that strike you.”  “It doesn’t strike me any kind of way."

There's a deep thinker for you.  Of course, when we want meaningful public discourse, we always turn to a hired thug.

Don Sucher, American Thinker:  "Does Cliven Bundy 'Matter'?"

Not since he became an embarrassment to right wingers.  Before that, he was the most important patriot in the country.

Well, enough, huh?  Now that Green Eagle is successfully settled in here in North Carolina, I hope to get back to a little more regular posting.  Good or bad news?  I report, you decide.
And another video revealed an African-American bodyguard promised he would “take a bullet” for Bundy.
On the CNN video, a reporter said Bundy was “wondering whether African Americans would be better off as slaves. How does that strike you.”
“It doesn’t strike me any kind of way.

No, I'm Not Going To Forget About Cliven Bundy

“I don’t recognize the United States government as even existing.” -Cliven Bundy

Cliven Bundy- the Jackass that claims the Federal Government doesn't even exist when it comes to owing it money, but who rides around with an American flag pretending to be a patriot.

Cliven Bundy, the (as we know now) unrepentant racist who has the nerve to blame his disgusting attitudes toward black people on Martin Luther King.

Cliven Bundy, whose notion of "freedom" consists in taking government services without having to pay for them, to the tune of a million dollars, while at the same time savaging non-whites for  their alleged consumption of services from the same government.

Cliven Bundy, the associate of terrorists who assembled to kill Federal agents, but who were so cowardly that they were going to hide behind their wives and children if the Feds shot back.

Cliven Bundy, the darling of the right wing media until he spoke his real views.

NOW HERE'S THE THING:  Sean Hannity, Rand Paul and all the rest of you worthless Republican jackasses, you can't walk away from Cliven Bundy, because BUNDY IS YOU.  Except for the unforgivable sin of speaking aloud the racism which every white Conservative holds in his heart, Bundy has exactly the same views as all of the rest of you.  Bundy is the perfect American Conservative, eaten alive with racism, entitling himself to anything he can take from the government while denying its very existence when it might cost him money, burning with fury if someone not like him gets a penny of government benefits, and scared to death of "terrorists" while he is ready to become one himself at a moment's notice the instant the government wants nothing more from him but to pay his share to keep this country going.

Greed and hatred- that's all that modern American Conservatism is about, and Bundy is their poster child.  We cannot forget Cliven Bundy because he has opened a curtain on the reality of the right in this country today.  He can ride his horse with his flag, but we need to ride Bundy from now until people face the truth, because he is more than a symbol.  He is Conservatism.  He is Republicanism.

Just One More

"(Reuters) - A white supremacist convicted of killing two people and accused of killing two more during a violent road trip across the Pacific Northwest pleaded guilty on Wednesday in federal court in Oregon to two counts of carjacking resulting in death, his attorney said."

They're coming pretty fast these days.

More Disgusting Revelations From Cliven Bundy

There is just no end to the dishonesty on the right.  It is driving me crazy, because the more we try to base our positions on demonstrable facts the more they decide that the truth means nothing, and they can do whatever they damned please.

Here is the latest from the chiseling crook/rancher Cliven Bundy who has claimed that the United States doesn't really exist, so  he doesn't owe them the grazing fees that every other rancher using Federal land pays.  He has publicly based his right to steal a million dollars from the American people on the claim that his ancestors were grazing cattle on that land since the nineteenth century, so he doesn't have to follow the law.

Well, this is nonsense on its face.  Imagine if you moved into a house that your ancestors used to own, but which they sold long ago, and then claimed that you had a right to take the house because of that.  But this is not what I am stunned by today- in fact, it turns out that Bundy's whole claim is a lie, which he just made up:

"Bundy says his family has rights to the land dating back to the 19th century, a claim that even if it were rooted in reality wouldn't change a damn thing about the fact that he's a deadbeat rancher refusing to pay his fare share who doesn't even have the support of his fellow ranchers in Nevada. But it turns out that not even that claim is true...

Clark County property records show Cliven Bundy's parents moved from Bundyville, Arizona and bought the 160 acre ranch in 1948 from Raoul and Ruth Leavitt.  Water rights were transferred too, but only to the ranch, not the federally managed land surrounding it. Court records show Bundy family cattle didn't start grazing on that land until 1954.

The Bureau of Land Management was created 1946, the same year Cliven was born."

And yet, right wingers all over the country, from the sort of loons that I feature here right up to many of the leading figures in the Republican party have declared that this made-up fact justifies Bundy's criminal behavior.  Not a single one of them bothered to check out his excuse for treason- the fact that it put the government in a difficult position was enough for them to support him.

So, what is the point in even bothering to try to record the truth, when our enemies in this country do not give a damn about it?  Nothing we can say or do will ever deflect them from their avarice and hatred.  Fifteen hundred loathsome maniacs turned up to support this lying criminal, and you know they were just dying to start shooting at government employees, and unbelievably to have their wives and daughters die in their place, while they go on raving about what great patriots they are.

There is simply no way to deal with these people, except to eliminate them like the mad dogs they are.  And they are getting closer and closer to the pathetic, petty apocalypse they are determined to incite.

These are bleak times for this country, and they are going to get worse, apparently, before anyone with any power takes the appropriate action- we've just seen 1500 armed terrorists assemble to threaten the rest of us, and there is no real reaction.

How Did I Come To This?

Green Eagle must sadly report that he is now working (and consequently living) in (Oh god, I can hardly believe it) North Carolina.

I'll be back to normal posting in the next couple of days.  Please, let me know if you notice any signs of infectious brain damage.

The End Draws Near

Here's a small taste of a new paper from professors at Princeton and Northwestern University:

"Multivariate analysis indicates that economic elites and organized groups representing business interests have substantial independent impacts on U.S. government policy, while average citizens and mass-based interest groups have little or no independent influence. The results provide substantial support for theories of Economic Elite Domination and for theories of Biased Pluralism, but not for theories of Majoritarian Electoral Democracy or Majoritarian Pluralism.

What do our findings say about democracy in America? They certainly constitute troubling news for advocates of “populistic” democracy, who want governments to respond primarily or exclusively to the policy preferences of their citizens. In the United States, our findings indicate, the majority does not rule -- at least not in the causal sense of actually determining policy outcomes. When a majority of citizens disagrees with economic elites and/or with organized interests, they generally lose.  Moreover, because of the strong status quo bias built into the U.S. political system, even when fairly large majorities of Americans favor policy change, they generally do not get it."

Need a translation of this:  Democracy in this country is dead, crushed out of existence in the three short decades since Ronald Reagan opened the Pandora's box of unreconstructed greed.  We are now ruled by an ever shrinking cadre of the super-rich, a situation which will end shortly in a few hundred people controlling all the wealth and power in the country, while the rest of us are left to struggle and die in poverty.

I have been predicting the likelihood of this happening since the mid-nineties.  It really doesn't feel that good to be proven right, but at least more and more people are starting to see what they have carefully averted their eyes from.  So sad that it's too late.

Just One More Greedy Ass

Cliven Bundy has this to say:
"And we are after freedom. We're after liberty. That's what we want..."
He's not after freedom.  What he's after just like every other "Conservative" in the country, is to not pay for the government services he uses.  Every other rancher in the West pays his damn $1.50 per head per year to graze his cattle on land that belongs to all of us, but not Cliven Bundy, because FREEDOM!!!! and LIBERTY!!!!

As I've said for years, despite all of the social issues claptrap and all the foreign policy belligerence, all this benighted species of humanity really cares about is not paying taxes.  While they spend endless hours raving about other people (you know who they mean) being moochers, they will follow any malicious, lying politician on earth as long as he promises to not make them pay for the government services they use.

Conservatives are the real deadbeats, and they are so good at it that the people in practically every liberal State pay immense amounts to the Federal government, which is then transferred every year to the Conservative States to keep their miserable societies afloat. That, of course, is just fine with them, but if a black person gets a cell phone, it's Communism! Cliven Bundy is just the latest poster boy for these miserable, greed-maddened people.

And Whom Does This Remind You Of?

Call me crazy, but this is more than usually disturbing news:

"Jews in the eastern Ukrainian city of Donetsk where pro-Russian militants have taken over government buildings were told they have to "register" with the Ukrainians who are trying to make the city become part of Russia, according to Ukrainian and Israeli media.

Jews emerging from a synagogue say they were handed leaflets that ordered the city's Jews to provide a list of property they own and pay a registration fee "or else have their citizenship revoked, face deportation and see their assets confiscated," reported Ynet News, Israel's largest news website.
Donetsk is the site of an "anti-terrorist" operation by the Ukraine government, which has moved military columns into the region to force out militants who are demanding a referendum be held on joining Russia. The news was carried first by the Ukraine's Donbass news agency.

The leaflets bore the name of Denis Pushilin, who identified himself as chairman of "Donetsk's temporary government," and were distributed near the Donetsk synagogue and other areas, according to the reports.
Pushilin acknowledged that fliers were distributed under his organization's name in Donetsk...masked men were waiting for Jewish people after the Passover eve prayer, handed them the flier and told them to obey its instructions..."
The leaflet...states that all people of Jewish descent over 16 years old must report to the Commissioner for Nationalities in the Donetsk Regional Administration building and "register."

The leaflet then described which documents Jews should provide: "ID and passport are required to register your Jewish religion, religious documents of family members, as well as documents establishing the rights to all real estate property that belongs to you, including vehicles."

Consequences for non-compliance will result in citizenship being revoked "and you will be forced outside the country with a confiscation of property." A registration fee of $50 would be required, it said."

I have been quite concerned lately that the mainstream press here in this country, anxious as ever to give the Republicans a jingoistic issue to rave about in the coming election, has reverted to the oldest one of all:  Russians are the great big horrible bears, and Democrats are just too weak to deal with them.  As I have seen the other side in Ukraine do more and more to reveal just what sort of people they are, and as I contemplate the twenty million Russians killed the last time this sort of race hatred was allowed to go unchecked, I'm beginning to see why Putin and other Russians insist on stopping it right now.  Is Putin a good guy? No.  But whatever he does in Ukraine can hardly be as bad as letting Naziism get a new start in Eastern Europe.

Wingnut Wrapup- Frazier Glenn Miller Special Edition

I've reported that the recent mass murderer in the heartland had a long history as a right winger- the KKK, militias, Aryan Supremacist groups, etc.  Well, one of the places he liked to lurk was on the forums at the viciously anti-Semitic "Vanguard News Service," where he apparently made over 12,000 comments over the last decade or so.  I thought it would be nice to see how his fellow Vanguarders were responding to his actions.  Not well, as I'm sure you can guess:

"Thank God people are finally fighting back against these vicious demonic parasites."

Methodists?  Catholics?  Because that's who he killed.

"3 ain't bad.  Heil Hitler brother!!"

It ain't too good either, idiot.

"Despite the thousands of years of destruction the Jew has repeatedly visited on the Aryan race, when someone finally gives a few of them a little lead karma, it's not just a murder, but a hate crime."

Lead karma.  Well, I guess he really taught the Methodists a lesson.

"Is KS a death penalty state?  If so, you can bet izzy's jewstice system is going to use it here."

You betcha.

"He meant it, guys. Surprised? Why?  The only legitimate criticism might be his score."

Let's consider that.  I figure that if you award one point per Jew, he gets zero points for the two Methodists, and maybe we'll give him half a point for the Catholic.  That's 0.5 out of 3.  Not so good.

"He needed to go on a more crowded day. It doesn't sound like it was too well thought out."

Well, just what we needed- a well thought out mass murder.  That would have been much better.

"You know they'll at least throw him down a deep, dark hole.  Probably Florence, or some place like that where he will be held incommunicado indefinitely."

Incommunicado?  What could he possibly have to say that wouldn't make you guys look like bigger jackasses than ever?  My vote is to let him shoot his mouth off as much as he wants.  Hell, I'd give him an hour a day on Fox News.

"The downside... one less pretty good spokesman for WN."

He spoke with his six shooter.  And let me make this clear to you:  There is no such thing as a good spokesman for White Nationalism.

"I really don't understand why he was even allowed to post here."

Because he believed exactly the same thing as everyone else who posts at Vanguard News Network.

"I was really hoping to see him run for office again as he has in years past."

He's not getting the Jewish vote, I can tell you that.

"I hope those in our ranks can just keep discussion regarding the incident here civil and not just bash the hell out of the man. He did something stupid, no doubt, but we all know what it is like to live in this rotten world the Jews have created for us"

Stupid.  Three murders.  I guess what is stupid is that he killed three Christians.

"It's funny, when I talked to my parents, family, friends or associates about the racial issue or jewish question, some of them called me "crazy"

I wonder why.

"If he killed a single White person then he is a fucking scumbag. If they were kikes, then he gets a round of applause."

Well, he's a scumbag, I guess.  And no applause for him.  Except here at Vanguard News Network.

"...he only does damage to the efforts of people who are trying to overcome media stereotypes about our ranks being filled with people on the brink of senseless violence."

You've sure got a point there.  Of course, a lot of people would say that it isn't just a stereotype.

"Glenn Miller in the end, can be classified as a well-intentioned screw up."

Well intentioned.  That should be his defense in court- Sure I deliberately killed three strangers, but I meant well.  Yeah, that'll work.

"I liked that guy, this makes me sorta sad, but also happy. I am glad he will go to heaven for sure now. "

Because that's where all the deranged murderers go.

"These bolshevik brats were rehearsing the play "To Kill a Mockingbird", which is about a scum lawyer who gets a black rapist of white women off, and is portrayed as a hero."

Uh, except that in the play, the black guy was innocent.  And the doctor and his grandson were not there for the play, the kid was trying out for a singing contest.  Other than that, right on, guy.  Oh, except for the "Bolshevik" part.  Hey, you went 0 for 3, just like Glenn Miller.

"i'm just taking a wild guess those kids were gonna grow up to be nigger lovin' pansies, jew enablers. Future traitors. Glenn did them a favor."

No comment needed.

"He has set a fantastic example of how an adult, informed audience should respond."

By murdering three of the wrong people?  Man, your standards of a fantastic example aren't very high, are they?

"I wonder if this could have had something to do with Obamacare, losing his coverage, or getting his coverage jacked up."

God, someone just had to go there.

"Even President Nigger is weighing in on this one"

And there.

"From what I can tell, the two Methodists were actively engaged in the promotion of White genocide"

Huh?  A fourteen year old kid trying out for a singing contest?  And a doctor?  well, just keep lying to yourself.  It must be a big comfort.

So there you go.  I hope you enjoyed this little glimpse into the views of the other side.

And let me just go out with a sage remark by the inestimable Jim Hoft, over at Gateway Pundit, one of Wingnut Wrapup's most frequent subjects:

"Like Clockwork… Vile Media Matters Writer Blames Kansas Shooting by Nazi Racist on Right Wingers"

Imagine that!

Brave Patriot Describes Their Strategy

This is almost unbelievable.  Here, courtesy of Crooks and Liars, is a short clip of one of the Cliven Bundy people describing their strategy to put all of their women up front so they would get shot first (no, really, that was the plan:)

So, I guess here was their plan:  Kill a bunch of government workers for doing their jobs, and then have your wives and daughters killed in return, so you have a new reason to be hateful and violent.

Actually, not so unexpected.  At Ruby Ridge, Randy Weaver shot at government agents and then left his wife and son to take the bullets, and at Waco, the only real mistake the government made was in not comprehending that people who called themselves religious would let their children burn to death rather than face misdemeanor gun charges.

Do I need to point out the obvious?  These are not the good guys.

Just a Little More about Cliven Bundy, and a Comment About Frazier Glenn Miller Too

So, of course, the government had no choice but to back away from a confrontation with the hate-filled militia leaders that swarmed to Nevada to protect Cliven Bundy's Constitutional Right not to pay a fee of $1.50 per head to graze his cattle on federal land, because to him THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT DOESN'T EXIT!!!  These jackasses had apparently worked themselves up into a state where they might start shooting any second, and even though the government could have wiped all of them out immediately, that's just not the way we handle things in this country; and it won't be until Republicans take over for real.  However, I wish to point out that it will be a very bad thing in the end if these irrational lunatics are allowed to have a victory over this.  It is essential that as soon as they all go home the government go back and carry out the appropriate action against Bundy for his twenty years of lawbreaking.  And may I suggest that he be charged for the standoff?  There has to be some sort of price for this kind of behavior.

Now, I couldn't motivate myself to write a post detailing the universal support for this threat of violence, which occurred throughout the right.  If you are interested, you can look here or here.  I do, however, want to point out that it has become standard practice among Republicans to constantly agitate their followers to solve their problems with guns.  As I have been warning for years, one of these incidents is going to explode into something truly horrible (as this one very well might have,) at which point the Republicans are going to blame the government, and not the subversive traitors who attacked government agents with guns.*  A fine example of the consequences of Republican behavior, although on a smaller scale, occurred this weekend in the case of Frazier Glenn Miller, a long time KKK and militia member who fell off the sane train and went out to shoot Jews, killing three people, two of them, incidentally Methodists.  If you want to read about this man's sordid history in the Aryan supremacist movement, you might look at this post from the SPLC, largely compiled before the current incident.

Well, anyway, the government and the decent people of the country are going to have to stand up to these malignant people before too long, and like any war, it is going to be a horrible thing.  But since the traitors on the right continue to foment this irrational violence, it is inevitable.

*As they continue to blame the government because agents shot back when they came under fire at Ruby Ridge and Waco.  They're all for law and order until they feel like killing a few police themselves.

Right Wing Quote of the Day

And a really piggish one from Mike Huckabee, who our hallucinating mainstream press continues to treat as one of the more reasonable right wingers:

"I'm beginning to think theres more freedom in North korea sometimes than there is in the United States."

Well, you stick with that, Mike.  Why don't you go over there and spend some time where you can wallow in their FREEDOM!!!!!!!  Just don't clap too softly for Kim Jong Un, or they might feed you to a pack of dogs.

What Do The Oligarchs Really Want

Here is an incredible find, dug up by Senator Bernie Sanders.  It turns out that, in 1980, David Koch ran for President on the Libertarian Party ticket (against Ronald Reagan, it might be noted, because Reagan could not be counted on to favor the rich enough.)  Here are excerpts from the platform of the Libertarian party that Koch ran on:

“We urge the repeal of federal campaign finance laws, and the immediate abolition of the despotic Federal Election Commission.”

“We favor the abolition of Medicare and Medicaid programs.”

“We oppose any compulsory insurance or tax-supported plan to provide health services, including those which finance abortion services.”

“We also favor the deregulation of the medical insurance industry.”

“We favor the repeal of the fraudulent, virtually bankrupt, and increasingly oppressive Social Security system. Pending that repeal, participation in Social Security should be made voluntary.”

“We propose the abolition of the governmental Postal Service. The present system, in addition to being inefficient, encourages governmental surveillance of private correspondence.  Pending abolition, we call for an end to the monopoly system and for allowing free competition in all aspects of postal service.”
“We oppose all personal and corporate income taxation, including capital gains taxes.”

“We support the eventual repeal of all taxation.”

“As an interim measure, all criminal and civil sanctions against tax evasion should be terminated immediately.”
“We support repeal of all law which impede the ability of any person to find employment, such as minimum wage laws.”

“We advocate the complete separation of education and State.  Government schools lead to the indoctrination of children and interfere with the free choice of individuals. Government ownership, operation, regulation, and subsidy of schools and colleges should be ended.”

“We condemn compulsory education laws … and we call for the immediate repeal of such laws.”
“We support the repeal of all taxes on the income or property of private schools, whether profit or non-profit.”

“We support the abolition of the Environmental Protection Agency.”

“We support abolition of the Department of Energy.”

“We call for the dissolution of all government agencies concerned with transportation, including the Department of Transportation.”

“We demand the return of America's railroad system to private ownership. We call for the privatization of the public roads and national highway system.”

“We specifically oppose laws requiring an individual to buy or use so-called "self-protection" equipment such as safety belts, air bags, or crash helmets.”

“We advocate the abolition of the Federal Aviation Administration.”

“We advocate the abolition of the Food and Drug Administration.”

“We support an end to all subsidies for child-bearing built into our present laws, including all welfare plans and the provision of tax-supported services for children.”

“We oppose all government welfare, relief projects, and ‘aid to the poor’ programs. All these government programs are privacy-invading, paternalistic, demeaning, and inefficient. The proper source of help for such persons is the voluntary efforts of private groups and individuals.”

“We call for the privatization of the inland waterways, and of the distribution system that brings water to industry, agriculture and households.”

“We call for the repeal of the Occupational Safety and Health Act.”

“We call for the abolition of the Consumer Product Safety Commission.”

“We support the repeal of all state usury laws.”

Well, there it is, teabaggers- the real agenda which you have been spending your time and energy for years to achieve.  A country in which the government is destroyed by doing away with all taxes, and in which no law is allowed that prevents the rich and powerful from doing anything they want.  A regime in which every scrap of this nation's resources and land is owned by some huge corporation, in which people have no rights, no protection against abuse and no future.

This is not even medieval in its scope- it goes far beyond feudalism, which recognized the responsibilities of the rich, to primitive despotism of a kind not seen since ancient Babylon.  It is the most nasty and brutish way in which people can relate to each other, and licenses the repression and indifference of the worst dictatorships of modern times.  Even Hitler did not dare to propose something this malignant when he wrote Mein Kampf- it in fact would license people like the Kochs to essentially treat everyone the way Hitler treated the Jews- right up to the edge of the final solution, which of course Hitler never mentioned in public and did not begin until years after he took power.

I hope you teabaggers are proud of what you are creating.  But of course, let us remember that this plan calls for THE REPEAL OF ALL TAXATION!!!!!!   And that is all you treasonous, greedy, hate filled sons of bitches ever wanted anyway, right?

The Ballad of Cliven Bundy

There once was a guy named Cliven
He probably hated Alinsky and Piven
He thought that the Federal Government owed him a livin'
But he...

Oh wait, this has gone far enough.  Back to the story:

So there is this right wing rancher guy and all around asshole, named Cliven Bundy.  No relation to Ted, as far as I know.  He's been grazing his cattle on Federal land for twenty years, and for twenty years he's been refusing to pay the grazing fees, because, know, Freedom or something.

"Two federal court orders issued within the past year called for the rancher’s livestock to be impounded from a vast swath of mountains and desert. That roundup began Saturday on almost 600,000 acres closed to the public during the operation."

Bundy doesn't agree with that:

"Why I raise cattle there and why I can raise cattle there is because I have preemptive rights,” he asserted, explaining to TheBlaze that this includes the right to forage, too.
Furthermore, Bundy has argued that it is the United States trespassing on Clark County, Nev., land, not he..."Since 1993, Cliven Bundy has been battling the agency, as well as the National Park Service, the Center for Biological Diversity and the courts, to graze his cattle on 150 square miles of Gold Butte scrub land in the Lake Mead National Recreation Area. He stopped paying his grazing fees back then, saying he “fired” the Bureau of Land Management as land manager."

Anyone familiar with the phenomenon will recognize the similarity of his "views" to Sovereign Citizen doctrine, with equally meaningless legal cant used to justify not holding up his end of the social contract.  Although, to be fair, so far I haven't seen any direct link between him and the Sovereign Citizen movement.  Anyway, it's not exactly the Sovereign Citizens he's mixing with now:

"Militias ‘mobilizing’ to support embattled Clark County rancher in clash with federal rangers

From near and wide, armed men are trickling toward Cliven Bundy’s ranch, where the rancher’s fight with the federal government has become a rallying cry for militia groups across the United States.

On Wednesday, that dispute teetered at the edge of deadly ...By late Wednesday, three militia members — two from Montana and one from Utah — had arrived at the ranch 80 miles northeast of Las Vegas. Other militia groups have inundated the Bundy household with calls and pledges to muster at the site. Their stated goal: to protect the Bundys from tyranny.

They say they are prepared for armed confrontation...Ryan Payne and Jim Lardy, members of the West Mountain Rangers, made the 12-hour drive from western Montana on Tuesday night. Payne is also a coordinator with Operation Mutual Aid, a national association that describes itself as a coalition of state militias.

“They all tell me they are in the process of mobilizing as we speak,” Payne said.

“We need to be the barrier between the oppressed and the tyrants,” he said. “Expect to see a band of soldiers.

Well, this is the sort of thing the militia guys have been begging for over the last couple of decades.  I'm not suggesting that this is the start of a holy war or anything, but I have been writing for a long time about my fear that one day one of these incidents, deliberately fomented by hate-filled, ignorant, armed maniacs is going to explode.  The constant incitement of these people, by a host of fringe characters and now the political leaders of the Republican party, is inevitably going to lead to something that, a couple of decades ago, we could not even imagine in this country.  And that will not be the end of it.  Then the Limbaughs and the Ted Cruzes and the Sarah Palins will come out of the woodwork, praising these evil jackasses as true patriots, and who knows how many people they will induce to fulfill their sick revenge fantasies.  We could see a wave of violence that few even today could imagine; violence that could destroy the little that seems to be left of our social fabric.  And as the economy gradually improves despite the sabotage of the right, as Obamacare does not fulfill their doomsday predictions, as Obama's term moves toward an end, they are going to become more and more desperate to have their colossal tantrum.

I know that the great majority of those who happens to read these words will write them off as grossly paranoid delusions.  I can only say to them that I have fairly consistently predicted our country's "progress" to this point, and I see little to make me doubt that much, much worse is coming.

Wingnut Wrapup

Let's just start out with the most preposterous Lie of the Week:

Jim DeMint, former Senator and current head of the Heritage Foundation:   “no liberal is going to win a debate that big government freed the slaves.”

No, they were freed by kindly Southern plantation owners who only wanted the best for them.  And here's the funny thing- here is a typical reaction to this story:

"They're destroying the reputation and credibility of the Heritage Foundation. The respect for their policy work has been greatly diminished."

Reputation and credibility of the Heritage Foundation?  They have never been anything but a lying, partisan propaganda factory, and anyone with a brain knows it.  Here, by the way, is a list of some of the major backers of the Heritage foundation:

"Heritage Foundation received $61,944,537 in foundation grants from organizations such as: the Lynde and Harry Bradley Foundation, the Scaife Foundations, the John M. Olin Foundation, Inc., Castle Rock Foundation, JM Foundation, Claude R. Lambe Charitable Foundation, the Richard and Helen DeVos Foundation, and (of course) the Charles G. Koch Charitable Foundation."

The biggest right wing lie factories in the country.  Well, not all of them, of course.  Just some of them. Think you're going to get credibility from them?

And another "scandal" that's going nowhere:

Christine Rousselle, Town Hall:  ""FaithVoters4Hillary" Verified Twitter Account Has Thousands of Fake Followers"

Fake twitter followers. I guess the point is that the hundreds of polls showing that Hillary is trouncing any Republican you can think of are just a bunch of hooey.  Just like in 2012.

Kevin Glass, Town Hall:  "College Isn't For Everyone"

Only for rich people.  Kevin makes his point more clear:

"a government that and subsidizes higher education has driven up costs"

Helping poor people afford college makes it more expensive for rich people.  The outrage!

John Ransom, Town Hall:  "What’s More Pathetic: Obamacare Success Stories or Big Foot Video Footage?"

When you have 7.1 million big foot videos, get back to us, John.  As usual, the suggestion that Obamacare success stories are "pathetic" is really only about obscuring the dozens of highly publicized Obamacare "failure" stories, every one of which turned out to be a lie.

Matt Barber, Town Hall:  "Why Are They Called ‘Homofascists’? Here’s Why…"

Do you really care what bogus reason Matt pulls out of his...well, you know.  No, we all know that the reason they are called homofascists is because people like Matt Barber are intolerant, hate-filled pigs.  So let's just move on.

Ed Driscoll, PJ Media:  "A decade ago, a simple question caused David Letterman to reveal his monstrous worldview."

And the world has never recovered.  Well, rest easy, guys.  He's going away.  And I'm sure you will like his replacement so much more.

There.  Satisfied now?

Frank Fleming, PJ Media:  "That’s No Moon: That’s Obamacare!"

The death star!  The worst right wing Obamacare analogy ever!

"Let’s say there is some intergalactic empire, and it makes a massive space station. The idea of the space station is that it will fire a beam at any planet, and that beam will rejuvenate and heal the planet’s environment. But the empire completely messes it up, and the first time they fire the beam at a planet, it blows it up. So do the people responsible for this just say, “This is a disaster! People hate planets being blown up! No one will want to listen to the Empire anymore!”? No, they rename the space station the Death Star and rule through fear."

Obamacare!  Rule by fear!  Oh well, at least it won't be fear of getting sick and not having health care.

Creation Moments:  "Hideous creature is for real- and it bites!"

This one?

Michael Bresciani, Renew America:  "Homo-lobby: Making children of hell in America"

I've got nothing to say about this- I just thought you'd get a laugh out of the title.

Tim Dunkin, Renew America:  "You can't spell "progressive" without an "S.S."

Because social security, medicare, the eight hour day, the minimum wage, the Civil Rights act and the Affordable Care Act are just like oh, say, the Battle of Stalingrad.  Yeah, yeah, yeah, Tim.  We've heard it all before.

Washington Times:  "Conservatives launch boycott of Mozilla after gays press CEO to quit"

When liberals announced a boycott of Mozilla, it was the Gestapo back in action.  Now that Conservatives are doing it, it's heroism!

Selwyn Duke, Renew America:  "Saving civilization means killing equality"

There's no end to the vicious piggishness of right wingers.  A sample of Selwyn's argument:

"The truth is that equality dogma is a fiction of modern times. As for the timeless, the word "equality" appears in only 21 biblical verses"

Here are a few words that don't appear in the Bible at all:  free enterprise, democracy, homosexual, racism, capitalism, original intent...I could go on and on.  And here are a few things that do appear in the Bible which people like Selwyn seem to have forgotten about:  caring for the sick, the poor, prisoners, the strangers among us.  So, Selwyn, if you are hip to internet abbreviations, please, STFU.

Reverend Austin Miles, Renew America:  "Noah's ark hijacked by atheist pirates"

Oh, for God's sake, Austin, grow up already.

And another doomed right wing campaign:

I guess this comes from the "honk if you love Jesus" people.  I don't think it's going to work.  Maybe it will bring Tinkerbelle back to life, though.

Scott Erickson, Town Hall:  " Anti-Gun Advocates Use Fort Hood Shooting to Advance Agenda"

What a horrible thing.  When a really ugly gun murder takes place, the only fair thing to do is to ignore it until everyone forgets about it, not point out what a tragedy it is.

Alan Keyes, Renew America:  "Fort Hood and the lies we cannot live with...The stories report that "officials" are saying that there was no indication that the second shooting spree at Fort Hood was terrorism-related. They say that "Lt. Gen. Mark Milley, III Corps commander at Fort Hood, said the shooter was a soldier who was under evaluation for post-traumatic stress disorder." They say that "the shooter, identified as 34-year old Ivan Lopez, is among the dead."

So they say."

They're lying.  It really is terrorism.  Will you be surprised to know that this son of a bitch cannot muster a single piece of evidence to support this malicious claim- just the usual raving about liberal communists?  But he makes the claim anyway, because somewhere, he hopes, there are still some ignorant suckers who can be conned into thinking the Obama administration is a pack of terrorists.  "Lies we cannot live with," indeed.

Alan Caruba, Renew America:  "Gay intolerance versus corporate integrity"

Corporate integrity.  I mean, really.

Laurie Roth, Renew America:  "For many years, I have believed that we have needed more than just a plan to try and impeach Obama or take action against him due to his obvious ineligibility. There have been dozens of lawsuits that have been crushed or been ignored by the courts so far. Does Obama own every judge and court in America? One wonders after awhile."

Here's another possibility you may want to consider, Laurie, when you have some free time:  his Hawaiian birth certificate is real.  I know it's hard for you to conceive of such a thing, but stranger stuff has happened. Like when the Supreme Court made Bush President.  Or like someone like you giving up her hatred and actually trying to tell the truth.  Oh, wait.  That never did happen.  My bad.

World Net Daily:  "Mexican soldiers draw guns on U.S. agents"

Hey, they were standing their ground.

Silvio Canto, American Thinker:  "We're sick and tired of Democrats complaining about 'too much money' in politics"

I bet you are.  Too bad.

Bryan Preston, PJ Media:  "Holder: DOJ Considering Forcing Gun Owners to Wear Electronic Bracelets"

This story has cropped up several places on the right the last couple of days.  Rest assured- it's false.  That won't stop them, now, will it?

Washington Times:  "Congressional Republicans press for arming Ukraine"

I think this should read "Congressional Republicans press for World War III."  Of course, put that way, it's hardly news.

The evidence for this dastardly act?

"At a House Judiciary Committee hearing on December 3, Congressman Trey Gowdy (R-S.C.) asked that if President Barack Obama has the “prosecutorial discretion” not to enforce all the laws he’s been ignoring, is there anything to stop him from enforcing election laws and, for instance, run for a third term?"

That's it, folks.  Is there anything to stop him for running for a third term?  How about all 50 States, which would not let him on the ballot? How about his own party, which would never go along with that?  How about the fact that he has probably had enough lies and smears directed his way by Republicans to last a lifetime, and he'd have to be crazy to run again?  This Gowdy guy is trying to give Louie Gohmert a challenge for stupidest member of Congress, and he may be pulling even.

Well, there you go.  Is there more?  As always, there's plenty.  But enough for today.  'Bye!

Stabbing Spree At PA High School Leaves 20 Injured

Notice anything about this story?  No one was killed.  A horrible event, but everyone is going to eventually recover.  Just sayin'.

800,000 Years

I know that this piece of information is totally irrelevant, but I guess I'll run with it anyway:

"The amount of carbon dioxide in the Earth's atmosphere has exceeded 402 parts per million (ppm) during the past two days of observations, which is higher than at any time in at least the past 800,000 years..."

Like I said, nothing to see here, let's worry about Benghazi instead, or how poor people are taking too much money from multi-billionaires.

Republican Politics in a Nutshell

From some Newsmax comments:

Great News for Democrats

From Newsmax:

"Romney's Recent Moves Fuel Speculation About 2016 Run"

We should be so lucky.  Maybe Dick Cheney could throw his hat in the ring too.

Leland Yee- Why Did He Escape Terrorism Charges? I Mean, Really, Why?

Most of you by now have heard about California State Senator Leland Yee, who was recently arrested on corruption charges.  I found this whole thing a little strange, since he seems to have people accusing him of dealing in arms with terrorists, but the article I read in the Los Angeles Times only managed to accuse him of one "crime-" accepting a $6,000 donation from someone and then sponsoring a State Senate resolution praising a charity which this person runs.  Not exactly the Koch brothers there.  The whole thing set off alarm bells for me, because by removing Senator Yee, the Republicans could eliminate the Democratic supermajority in the California legislature, thus bringing back the days of stagnation and budget deficits which Republicans love so well.

And what would a Republican-sponsored "scandal" be without TERRORISM!!!  From a wingnut website which shall go unnamed:

"Why Did State Sen. Leland Yee (D-CA) Escape Terrorism Charges?

Yee, whose arrest after an FBI undercover sting shook the California political world last week, would likely have been charged with aiding terrorists if not for a bureaucratic label missing from the militant Filipino group that he is accused of sourcing for an international arms deal, counterterrorism experts told this newspaper.  The group is not among the 56 foreign terrorist organizations designated by the U.S. State Department"

Yes, Yee would likely have been charged with aiding terrorists,if only the group he aided were terrorists.  But they are not. Maybe that is the reason that he was not charged with aiding terrorists.  But, of course, to people with a, shall we say, Benghazi mindset, Democrats are all terrorists, so who cares whether the people they aided are terrorists or not!  Charge the Democrats with terrorism anyway!  And if that didn't work?

"Yee could have still been charged with material support to an undesignated group"

Yes, he could be criminally charged with aiding "an undesignated group!"  Like, say, the Red Cross, or the Brownies.  He can be thrown in jail for aiding anyone!

Because to Republicans, aiding people is not what the government is about.*  Anyone who does that should be thrown in jail immediately.  The crime is in the aiding, not in who they aided.**

*Unless they are rich, of course
** Unless they are rich, of course.  Whoops, did I already say that?  Well, a good truth always bears repeating.

A little further comment:  I don't mean this, by the way, to be a claim that the guy is innocent.  For all I know he could be the last member of the Manson cult.  Still, I need to see some real evidence.

Just Take It Away

I am always gratified when I see an idea I have been pushing for years, which was regarded as little more than a joke, start to be taken up by mainstream commenters.  One example is my notion that we'd all be a lot better off if we just admitted our great mistake of 150 years ago and kicked the mooching Southern States out of the country.  Here's another one, this time taken up by Alex Pareene at Salon:

"Want to cut the rich’s influence? Take away their money!

Roberts’ specialty is “faux judicial restraint,” in which he achieves his radical desired goals over the course of many incremental decisions instead of one sweeping one. In this case, as many observers have noted, Roberts pointed to our current easily circumvented caps on political spending as justification for lifting yet another cap, without noting that the Roberts court helped create the current system to begin with. Our campaign finance laws have not quite yet been “eviscerated,” but the trend is clear. Roberts and Justice Clarence Thomas, who penned a partial dissent calling for all regulation of political spending to be eliminated, have something close to the same end goal, but Roberts is willing to be patient in getting there.

The Supreme Court is clearly not going to meet a new spending restriction that it likes any time soon. Instead of attempting to dictate how the wealthy spend their money, we are probably just going to have to take away their money.   And unlike speech, the government is very clearly allowed to take away people’s money. It’s in the Constitution and everything."

I've been pointing out for years now that letting the rich have too much loose cash is what causes bubbles, and the ensuing economic collapse that inevitably follows.  We simply cannot afford a society with so much money concentrated at the top.  Now, this problem has been compounded by a decades-long, very successful campaign by Republicans to pack the court system with corrupt judges committed to allowing the hyper-rich to do whatever they want.  The price?  Not just the sort of thing that happened in 2008, but a refusal to allow the government to move forward on climate issues- a refusal that threatens the very existence of the human race, all so a couple of thousand people can do whatever they please.

The obvious answer is to simply take their money away.  This can happen relatively peacefully if they allow it, or their heads could be taken away along with their money.  It's their choice, but if we don't find some way to accomplish this purpose, we are effectively enabling the destruction of civilization.  After all the years that I have been pointing out that this is what is happening, I'm thrilled to see some other people start to admit it.

An Interesting Fact About the Most Recent Corrupt Supreme Court Decision

Which extended the ability of the rich to buy our government.  In the last election, there were 1200 people who maxed out their campaign contributions under the then-current law.  These 1200 are the only people who will benefit from the new rules.

For years, I have been saying that the end game of the Republican party's destruction of our democracy is a situation in which the entire country will be run for the benefit of about 2,000 families.  I guess that I can now reduce that number to 1200.

Wingnut Wrapup

This has been a little hard lately, because the right wingers continue to be so piggish and so humorless that I can barely stand looking at what they have to say.  Oh well, on I go.  I have to start out with one of the most shameless lies I have heard lately:

Katie Pavlich, Town Hall:  "Since winning a recall election in 2012, Governor Scott Walker has seen incredible economic success in Wisconsin thanks to successfully keeping collective bargaining in check and through providing major tax cuts to workers.
Today, (Scott) Walker signed Senate Bill 1 into law, cutting taxes by $504 million over the next two years for workers and families. The legislation slashes property tax rates and wipes out income taxes for manufacturers."

Hah.  First of all, there is this:

"According to Wednesday's report from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, Wisconsin gained 23,963 private-sector jobs in the 12 months from June 2012 through June 2013, a 1.0% increase that ranks the state 37th among the 50 states in the pace of job creation during that period."

And then, there is the little fact that slashing property tax and eliminating corporate taxes is not what most sentient people would call "cutting taxes for workers and families."  The absolute lack of any moral compass in spreading these lies is A) breathtaking, and B) exactly what we expect from Republicans.

John Ransom, Town Hall:  "Obama Impeachment Almost Complete"

Been hitting the Oxy again, huh, John?  John thinks Obama is gone because of the IRS "scandal," something which turned out to be a totally made up lie, created by Darryl Issa.  But of course, a lie is all you need when you're a Republican.

Star Parker, Town Hall:  "Despite Big Challenges, Conservatives Will Continue to Fight"

As long as rich guys keep paying you to do it, right, Star?

Kevin Glass, Town Hall:  "Yet Another Report on Obamacare Increasing Price of Health Care"

This is because private insurance companies are planning on increasing patient costs for medicine.  Thanks a lot, Obama, it's all your fault!

Todd Starnes, Town Hall:  "Why Does Air Force Academy Encourage Atheism, Prosecute Christianity?"

Let me guess:  because atheists don't start wars and Christians do?

American Thinker:  "Cold is the Killer...Warmth is our friend."

Global warming advice from your friendly right winger.  Take it for what it's worth.

Ed Morrissey, Hot Air:  "Will ordination doctrine drive a “mass exodus of the faithful” from the Catholic Church?"

That would be the ordination of women.  Believe me, Ed, anyone left after a hundred thousand or so children were raped by priests, but who quits because of ordination of women is so despicable that the Church can do without them just fine.

Michael Bastach, Daily Caller:  "Climate scientists REFUSE to debate global warming skeptics"

In other news:  Mugging victims refuse to have bare-knuckled boxing matches with their attackers.

Bryan Preston, PJ Media:  "Margaret Sanger Was a Racist Monster. So Why Did Nancy Pelosi Accept an Award Named After Sanger?"

A monster. In Conservative fantasyland, of course.  Not in the real world, where this woman devoted her life to lifting poor families out of poverty.  Of course, to hear Republicans these days, that sort of thing is monstrous.

Jim Hoft, Gateway Pundit:  "Valerie Jarrett Admits Pushing Obamacare to Hollywood Writers"

And?  Jim, if this is the biggest "scandal" you can come up with these days, I think maybe you should hang it up.

Gina Miller, Renew America:  "Homofascists turn their "gay" guns on Mississippi

No comment needed.

Sher Zieve, Renew America:  "Putin & Obama working together to split up the spoils after the war?   I suggest that we have – as prophesied – reentered the Days of Noah...when even the soil was corrupted."

For a while there, I thought there were a couple of challengers to Sher for the title of Most Mentally Ill Person at Renew America (a tough contest, with a lot of worthy challengers,) but little could I see how easily Sher would bat them all away and retain her title.

The Right Scoop:  "Ted Cruz makes surprise appearance, gives speech at Supreme Court building in solidarity with Hobby Lobby "

That's nice.
John Ransom, Town Hall:  "Sarah Palin is Right: Obamacare Death Panel Real; Disguised as the Democrat Senatorial Campaign Committee"

Yeah, I read this article.  It had nothing to do with Obamacare, really.  So I never did find out how the DSCC is going to come and kill your granny.  Sorry- I tried.

Dennis Prager, Town Hall:  "As I have often noted, the most dynamic and influential religion of the past hundred years has not been Christianity, let alone Judaism, the two religions that created the Western world. Nor has it been Islam. It has been Leftism."

Except, of course, for the fact that "leftism" is not a religion.  Of course neither is the sick mixture of greed and hatred that you right wingers peddle, so maybe you can't tell the difference.

Debra J. Saunders, Town Hall:  "Should Congress repeal Obamacare?"

God, give it up already.

Bob Barr, Town Hall:  "Who Will Pick Up The Pieces When ObamaCare Crashes and Burns?"

When did you write this, Bob?  Two years ago?  Aging your talking points these days before spewing them out?

Michelle Malkin, Town Hall:  "Michelle Malkin: Dear Mr. Colbert: Me so stupid. You so funny!

You got that right, Michelle.  Oh, wait- you were trying to make a joke?  Well, like you said, Colbert funny, Michelle stupid.  Remember that in the future.

Daniel Doherty, Town Hall:  "Poll: 65 Percent Say IRS Should Not Enforce Obamacare"

With the tide turning strongly in favor of Obamacare, and as they see their number one 2014 campaign issue circling the drain, Republicans are looking for any sort of alleged fact to convince themselves that people still don't like having medical insurance.  Keep at it, guys.  Finally, your chance to prove that Nate Silver is wrong.

By the way, this survey comes from the "non-profit" "Galen Institute."  From Wikipedia:  " the Galen Institute's stated mission is "advancing free-market ideas in health policy..."  They've been publishing anti-Obamacare hit pieces for years.  A reliable source, huh?

Michael Schaus, Town Hall:  "Mozilla CEO Learns that Liberals Hate Diversity"

Liberals hate rich liars, Mr. Mozilla CEO.  Suck on that.

Bryan Preston, PJ Media:  "Reid Responds to Campaign Finance Decision With Decorum And Restraint. Just Kidding – He Comes Up With Another Koch Conspiracy"

Not another conspiracy, sorry to say, Bryan.  The same old one.  And still true.

World Net Daily EXCLUSIVE:  "A Polish priest has warned parents to be on their guard against Lego, warning the plastic blocks are a tool of Satan and can “destroy” children’s souls."

Exclusive?  I wonder why all the media aren't running with this earth-shaking story.  Here's a perfect example of what World Net Daily adds to our national discourse.  Thanks, guys, for that.

And I think that pretty well caps off another day in wingnut world.  'Bye for now.

Here Comes Pauly Boo Boo

With his annual Republican "budget," i.e. plan for screwing the American people.  It's becoming something of a (very boring) tradition here at Green Eagle to take a look at this ludicrous document.  In fact, it changes so little from year to year, regardless of the circumstances, that I could almost just publish last year's GE take on it and no one would ever notice.  Actually, since probably no one will ever read this, I could just reprint a few pages from The Hobbit and no one would notice either, but I'll still gratify myself at the expense of whoever finds this post.  Well, here goes- quotes from the document itself, with Green Eagle's translations into actual English:

Cover of this idiotic piece of trash
Green Eagle's suggestion for a slight improvement

"Substantially lower tax rates for individuals, with a goal of achieving a top individual rate
of 25 percent."

i.e. a massive tax cut for the rich

"Simplify the tax code to make it fairer to American families and businesses."

i.e. a massive tax cut for the rich

"Reduce the corporate tax rate to 25 percent."

i.e. a massive tax cut for the rich

"Repeal the Alternative Minimum Tax"

i.e. making sure the massive tax cuts for the rich don't accidentally result in the grossly unfair result of their having to pay some taxes under another provision of the tax act.

Well, I suspect you've got the gist of this document already, but on we go:

"Adopt a sustainable maximum-award level for Pell."

i.e. cut government assistance to poor and middle income people trying to go to college.

"Ensure aid for higher education is targeted to the truly needy."

i.e. nobody who can come up with the rest of the money needed to go to college.

"The biggest cost drivers come from changes made in the College Cost Reduction and Access Act of 2007 [CCRAA].... these expansions should be returned to pre–CCRAA levels."

i.e. cut government assistance to poor and middle income people trying to go to college.

"Address barriers to upward mobility"

i.e. cut government assistance to the poor which, in the Republican fairyland, prevents them from wanting to climb out of poverty.

"Reinstitute welfare’s work requirements."

A brilliant strategy for cutting welfare costs, since there aren't any jobs for these welfare recipients- the reason most of them (other than the large number of children and retired people on welfare) don't have jobs.

Common-sense solutions include enacting medical liability reform, ensuring Americans can purchase quality coverage across State lines, and expanding access to consumer-directed healthcare options."

Enacting medical liability reform:  Making it impossible for people to sue drug companies and health care providers for their misdeeds.

Purchasing coverage across State lines:  Forcing States to enter into a competition with each other over who will have the least regulation on insurance companies, until the insurers all end up in the inevitable political hellholes like North Carolina or Arizona, who are willing to let insurance providers go entirely unregulated.

Expanding access to consumer-directed healthcare options:  Letting insurance companies do whatever they damned please.

All of this (as with virtually everything else in this "budget") has been standard fare for Republicans for decades.

"Provide states flexibility on Medicaid."

i.e. switching to block grants, allowing States to make massive cuts in Medicaid  (And you know which States I'm talking about.)

"Repeal the health-care law’s expansion of Medicaid."

i.e. throwing ten million or so Americans off of insurance plans.

"Repeal the health-care law’s exchange subsidies."

i.e. kill Obamacare, a particularly necessary thing right now, since it is working.

"Preserve Medicare for those in or near retirement."

Because they have to pander to their main bloc of voters- ignorant geezers.

"Reform Medicare for younger generations."

i.e. switch to a voucher system that will not really pay for their medical care, but will "save" lots of money.

"Reform the medical-liability system."

i.e. give a free pass to corporations to harm anyone without fear of penalty.

"Means-test premiums for high-income seniors"

i.e. transform medical care from a right into a welfare program, so it can be easier to attack in the future by the standard Republican tactic of breeding hatred for the poor.

"Reform civil-service pensions."

i.e. cheat government retirees of the benefits they worked all their lives to earn.

"Reform the Pension Benefit Guaranty Corporation"

i.e. make it easier for corporations to unilaterally decide that they are not going to pay their workers' pensions.

"Restore competition to the energy sector with the goal of energy independence."

i.e. Ending regulations on oil companies, and forbidding government assistance of any kind for alternate sources of energy.

"Stop the government from buying up unnecessary land."

No national parks when some rich person could make a dime by despoiling the land.

"Revisit flawed financial regulations."

i.e. doing away with them, so Wall Street traders can make lots more money, and cause another depression, which they will sit out in their houses in Antibes.

"Repeal the President’s health-care law."

Surprise.  Bet you never expected that one.

"Move toward patient-centered reform."

i.e. "free market" solutions, which, as you may remember, caused all of the current problems with the health care system, but which will now magically fix it.

"Cutting spending in brief
• Cap spending.
• Eliminate waste."

Meaningless cant.

"Wind down Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac.
This budget will end corporate welfare in the housing sector. It seeks to drastically decrease the market dominance of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac by gradually ending their government guarantees and taxpayer subsidies. It also supports various ways to attract private capital into the entities’ balance sheets.
i.e. make it a lot harder for lower income people to get home loans, while at the same time opening a whole new area of the economy to private vulture capitalism."

i.e. make sure that no one is able to offer mortgages to ordinary people unless that person is motivated by nothing but greed.

"Reform the Federal Credit Reform Act.
This budget prevents the next bailout of a housing agency. The Federal Housing Authority’s Mutual Mortgage Insurance Fund’s hasn’t met its congressionally mandated capital-reserve ratio of 2 percent since 2009. This capital reserve is intended to protect taxpayers from losses on FHA guarantees."

Of course, we all know what "since 2009" means- the FHA has been swamped due to an economic collapse caused by exactly the kind of thinking which is behind every proposal in this budget plan.  The answer- more of the same, please.

"Revisit flawed financial regulations."

i.e. do away with financial regulations, which have the significant flaw of restricting the ability of Republican donors and officials like Mitt Romney to rob the American people blind.

Provide $560.2 billion for defense spending in fiscal year 2014, an amount consistent
with America’s military goals and strategies."

i.e. lots more to defense contractors, who are such big Republican donors, paid for by slashing every single thing the government does that is of any actual value.

"Fully fund our nation’s commitment to veterans."

Well, they always include this one but of course they never do it.

Enough already.  If you want more, you can read this malicious document here, and the full text of the bill here.  Don't do it if you don't have a strong stomach.

I'm not going to wast any space here raving about what a disingenuous document this is.  I think it's pretty obvious, so I'll just let it speak for itself.

Update:  Of course, nothing on earth could be piggish enough to satisfy Sarah Palin, who has viciously attacked Ryan's budget as "a joke" for not being hard enough on non-rich Americans.  Well, if it is a joke, it isn't a very funny one.
