Friday Sex Crimes Report

 I've already commented below about the self-authored confession by Joel Greenberg that he and Matt Gaetz did pay an underage girl for sex.  That's hardly the only Republican sex crime we heard about today:


Remember Josh Duggar, scion of one of Evangelical Christianity's most sainted family, who was caught a couple of years ago molesting his young sisters, and ended up paying zero legal penalties for that act?  Well, today, Duggar was arrested for possession of child pornography, apparently containing photos of sexual acts perpetrated on girls who were "younger than twelve."  This time, no bail, according to the Judge, and hopefully this bastard will never see the sun outside of a prison ever again.


And then there is the case of Idaho State Rep. Aaron von Ehlinger, who resigned from his position today just a few steps ahead of a posse of his colleagues who were about to boot him out.  Ehrlinger, 38, apparently lured a 19 year old legislative employee to his apartment and raped her.  Since that became known, several more female State Capitol employees have made claims of unwanted advances.  Shades of Matt Gaetz, huh?


Oh, did I mention that they are all white Republicans?  Not black people selling cigarettes on the street or with a broken tail light, or they would be dead now.

And apparently nothing in his background would possibly deter a single Evangelical from voting for him.

Hamas

  Of ocurse I am going to take the opportunity to talk about the Hamas attack on Israel.   First, I'd like to talk about my background, or baggage, regarding the country.   I have lived in Israel, some years ago.   This was not for religious reasons; I spent several months there working on a movie.   During pre-production, weeks of location scouting and shooting the movie, I was all over the country, and spent a fair amount of time in the West Bank, where we also shot.   This included a lot of places that normal tourists would not see, including predominantly Arab areas such as East Jerusalem, the Arab quarter of the old city, Ramla and the southern part of Jaffa, which is predominantly Arab.   It also included heavily Orthodox areas like Mea Shearim.   I dealt with Israeli Arabs, Palestinians and Bedouins.     Here are a few things I believe I learned there:   First of all, the Palestinians I knew were perfectly normal people with the same interest in living a safe, secure
