Of ocurse I am going to take the opportunity to talk about the Hamas attack on Israel. First, I'd like to talk about my background, or baggage, regarding the country. I have lived in Israel, some years ago. This was not for religious reasons; I spent several months there working on a movie. During pre-production, weeks of location scouting and shooting the movie, I was all over the country, and spent a fair amount of time in the West Bank, where we also shot. This included a lot of places that normal tourists would not see, including predominantly Arab areas such as East Jerusalem, the Arab quarter of the old city, Ramla and the southern part of Jaffa, which is predominantly Arab. It also included heavily Orthodox areas like Mea Shearim. I dealt with Israeli Arabs, Palestinians and Bedouins. Here are a few things I believe I learned there: First of all, the Palestinians I knew were perfectly normal people with the same interest in living a safe, secure

On that day, April 24, 1915, the Ottoman Empire commenced its genocide against us Armenians.
Why didn't you leave a message about the centennial? There are a lot of us in California.
Is it because you are an anti-Armenian bigot?
Just wondering.
"[O]ur war aim does not consist in reaching certain lines, but in the physical destruction of the enemy. Accordingly, I have placed my death-head formations in readiness — for the present only in the East — with orders to them to send to death mercilessly and without compassion, men, women, and children of Polish derivation and language. Only thus shall we gain the living space (Lebensraum) which we need. Who, after all, speaks today of the annihilation of the Armenians?" -- Hitler
You did not leave a similar "100 Years Ago" comment on April 24.

You know, every day of the year is the anniversary of some real bullshit perpetrated somewhere in the world against some group of people.
Everyone cannot be expected to commemorate--or even remember or know--all these anniversaries. I certainly didn't know the one that has you so upset.
Might I suggest that prior to the anniversary of your pet grievance, you actually contact writers you know and give them a heads up, to see if they will give it a mention? Or start your own blog and commemorate it yourself? I daresay most Americans don't even really know where Armenia is without consulting a world map.
But I do really think you are way out of line intimating Green Eagle might be a bigot because he didn't mention your particular gored ox. Maybe you would have been able to be a bit more circumspect had you posted while not under the grip of the emotion that that occurrence obviously has instilled in you?
For your information (in case you didn't notice) I run this blog by myself. Over the years I have written close to 4,000 posts, on a pretty vast array of topics. I have, over this time, often been at work on location, working long hours, which leaves me little time to write about anything but things which catch my attention. I hardly claim to be compiling a complete record of modern times.
I will point out that I have also not written about the extermination of the Albigensians, or the Mongol destruction of Han China. I guess I am bigoted toward them too.
You owe me an apology for your rabid statement; and you owe your fellow Armenians an apology too, for having displayed the unjustified, vicious anger that has served for so long as a racist stereotype of your people. And before you go off on another tirade, let me tell you that I live quite close to Glendale, and so I have a fair amount of contact with Armenians, none of whom have ever treated me the way you did.
