Is It a Violation of Godwin's Law...

...To call a person what he clearly is?  Courtesy of Little Green Footballs, this remark about Ron Paul, published at a neo-Nazi website in 2007:

"Comrades:

I have kept quiet about the Ron Paul campaign for a while, because I didn’t see any need to say anything that would cause any trouble. However, reading the latest release from his campaign spokesman, I am compelled to tell the truth about Ron Paul’s extensive involvement in white nationalism."

For those of you who may not be aware of this, "White Nationalism" is a euphemism for Naziism.

"Both Congressman Paul and his aides regularly meet with members of the Stormfront set, American Renaissance, the Institute for Historic Review, and others at the Tara Thai restaurant in Arlington, Virginia, usually on Wednesdays...I have attended these dinners, seen Paul and his aides there, and been invited to his offices in Washington to discuss policy."

Stormfront has been the leading neo-Nazi umbrella group in the country for decades;  American Renaissance is a leading White racist publication; the Institute for Historical review is the world's leading purveyor of  Holocaust denial material.  Makes you wonder who the "others" were...maybe the Heinrich Himmler Appreciation Society; and makes you wonder what "policy" Ron Paul was discussing with this guy.

"Paul is a white nationalist of the Stormfront type who has always kept his racial views and his views about world Judaism quiet because of his political position...he really is someone with extensive ties to white nationalism.

Bill White, Commander
American National Socialist Workers Party"

The  "American National Socialist Workers Party."  That would be as distinguished from the German National Socialist Workers Party, which, as far as I know, ceased to exist in May of 1945.

Well, I guess that sets that straight. Yes, a large part of the Republican "base," rather than accept a candidate who is, in relative terms, somewhat sane, will gladly throw their support behind a man whose ideology is perilously close to the principles of Nazi Germany, and who has willingly associated himself with the pathetic fringe of sociopathic idiots who promote Hitler's views in this country.

This is how far the Republican party has degenerated.  We now have a nearly open advocate of Nazi views being hailed as an acceptable leader of their party, while they scream that the current middle-of-the-road, business friendly President is a Communist.  The change in Republican ideology has been breathtaking in its swiftness and in the unapologetic adoption of policies and views that would make any decent person cringe.  It's quite a lesson in how the German people, faced with worse economic collapse than we have experienced, fell for Hitler's blandishments.  One lesson is already too many- let's hope we don't have to take the whole course.

Listen, dingbat, Obama never met with, solicited or accepted the "endorsement" of these people, and he didn't leave behind a substantial body of writing supporting their views.

Ron Paul did all of those things. These are the people he voluntarily associated with, whose views he promoted, and with whom he had a relationship far closer than the fictional ones between Obama and Bill Ayres or Jeremiah Wright.

It's time for people like you to face up to the reality of the malignant forces you are enabling. You are a very bad person, and you are going to remain one until you trade in your hatred and greed for some sense of responsibility to the welfare of our country.

Hey many of us think Paul is a kook

At least you already know about him. The people still know more about the republican candidates than they know about Obama and he's been president for 3 years. It's like they don't even care to know. They just believe the message they were spoon fed that he is God's gift to mankind

Anonymous,

Your statement "The people still know more about the republican candidates than they know about Obama and he's been president for 3 years." is a lie. You know this perfectly well, yet you repeat it.

So I will repeat something I said above: You are a very bad person.

If any other of our presidents had doubled the national debt,
which had taken more than two centuries to accumulate, in one year, would you have approved?

If any other of our presidents had then proposed to double the debt again within 10 years, would you have approved?

If any other of our presidents had criticized a state law that he admitted he never even read, would you think that he is just an ignorant hot head?

If any other of our presidents joined the country of Mexico
and sued a state in the United States to force that state to continue to allow illegal immigration, would you question his patriotism and wonder who's side he was on?

If any other of our presidents had pronounced the Marine Corps like Marine Corpse, would you think him an idiot?

If any other of our presidents had put 87,000 workers out of work
by arbitrarily placing a moratorium on offshore oil drilling
on companies that have one of the best safety records of any industry
because one foreign company had an accident, would you have agreed?

I bet your answer to all of the above would be "no".

ok well maybe not "no" but opposite of what you would say now

Who said it's bad to say anything against Obama?

Nobody said so, of course. It is bad, however, to spread lies.

Much can be said against Obama without telling lies. This is the difference between Libs and radical Cons.

Anyone who needs to lie about Obama being a foreign commie racist is probably a fascist, or at least a Beck/Limbaugh indoctrinated cultist.

Anyone who doesn't know as much about Obama by now, as about Ron Paul's racist newsletters, Romney's blue-blood aristocratic indifference to the working class, or Newt "Mr. Ethics" Gingrich is probably a willfully ignorant FOX(R) dupe.

Even Mitt Romney's Son #3 demands Obama release his Real Birth Certificate! And #3 Romney has the right to demand it because we still don't know how Obama got into Harvard!

And the Romney boys are doing their part to win the Phony War on Terror... Just listen to dad talk up their accomplishments, "One of the ways my sons are showing support for the nation is helping me get elected. Because they think I'd make a great President."
