Surprise! The Stimulus Is Working!
Well what do you know?
"Government efforts to funnel hundreds of billions of dollars into the U.S. economy appear to be helping the U.S. climb out of the worst recession in decades.
For the third quarter, economists at Goldman Sachs & Co. predict the U.S. economy will grow by 3.3%. "Without that extra stimulus, we would be somewhere around zero...."
Any moment now, we will be bowled over by the avalanche of Republican praise for President Obama, now that it is clear that the stimulus, which hasn't even kicked into high gear yet, is working so well.
What? No?
I'm so surprised.
Update: This, today, from National Review Online:
"Conservatives have correctly declared President Obama’s $787 billion “stimulus” a flop."

Treasury, which is independent, credits government stimulus - which was opposed with due ideological diligence and obstinate contrariness by the conservatives, and who now rightly look like twits.
Heads I win, tails you lose.
Was it worth the $1.2 trillion? Hell no. The economy is worse off than Obama said it would be if didn't pass the stimulus. The stimulus was all artificial and we are going to have to pay for it bigtime in the long run.
Remember, the people who designed the stimulus bill were the same people who admitted last Friday that they were $2 trillion off on their deficit estimate. I don't trust their math.
As usual, Democrats do things that make things better; Republicans do things that make things better for really rich people.
Yet you don't address how we were supposed to be out of the recession by now anyway. Also you neglect how Obama failed hard when telling us that unemployment would go above 8% with the stimulus. We are at 9.7% and counting.
