Wingnut Wrapup- Special Obama Molests the Kids Edition

Is there no end to Republican dishonesty and the willingness to use the most contemptible tricks to get their way? So, Obama is going to address school children, to encourage them to stay in school and make a positive contribution to the country. No big deal, right? Wrong. It's really an attempt to indoctrinate the students in communism, and further his Hitlerian personality cult. What follows is a small sample of what has been the right wing response to this innocent act, in the last two days. I could have easily added twenty or thirty more. And let's note, that if you think this mass outbreak of smearing and lies is just a natural phenomenon, and that there's no one behind the scenes directing it, you are a fool.

Grant Swank, Renew America: "On September 8, Marxist Muslim Barrack Hussein Obama will address public school students.
I don't want this left of left celeb- (who )won via mob hysteriacs speaking to any of my relatives or friends.
What Obama is up to is luring the young to his mesmerizing bait. He did that in the campaign and got them salivating, enough to hoist him into the Oval Office."

And this guy calls himself a man of God. There're are a couple of those commandments I think you missed there, Grant.

Bob Unruh, World Net Daily: "Parents rebel against Obama TV speech to schools
'President doesn't get to speak to my children unchallenged'
"I am not going to compare President Obama to Hitler..."

Oh no, Bob wouldn't do that. That's not what he's trying to suggest at all.

"We'll leave that to others and you can form your own opinions about them and their analogies. ... However, we can learn a lot from the spread of propaganda in Europe that led to Hitler's power. A key ingredient in that spread of propaganda was through the youth," wrote a blogger at the AmericanElephant.com blog, where the subject of the day was a national "Keep-Your-Child-at-Home-Day." Totalitarian regimes around the world have sought to spread their propaganda and entrench their power by brainwashing the children."

Michael Medved, Town Hall: "President Barack Obama’s recent demonstration of megalomania in insisting on beginning the school year by simultaneously addressing all public school kids in the United States elicited a concise response: “it’s sick.” What bothers her (and many courageous teachers across the country) is the crude attempt by the Department of Education and the White House to blur all distinctions between education and cult-of-personality propaganda. The idea of using government schools to force students to bond with the maximum leader might seem appropriate for Cuba or North Korea, but it’s clearly out of place in a Constitutional republic.

Cuba or North Korea. What exactly do you think this scum is trying to suggest here?

Dan McLaughlin, Red State: "The problem isn’t the President giving a pro-education message to the nation’s kids, something that’s part of any president’s job; the problem is the specter of enlisting of public school teachers, already a core interest group supporting Obama, in indoctrinating kids in his agenda"

His agenda- that being to stay in school and try to make something of themselves. Communism!

Caleb Howe, Red State: "Keep ‘em home. That should be the motto of every conservative with children in public school on the 8th of this month. That’s the day the President will be invading every classroom that will have him...

Every classroom that will have the President of the United States. What an imposition on those poor kids.

Hugh Hewitt: "But the widespread and growing objection to the idea is that the president has no business injecting himself into every classroom or suggesting to teachers that they help students figure out how they can help the president."

Newsmax: "Florida's Republican Party chairman is objecting to President Barack Obama's plans to give a back-to-school address next week, saying Obama's real motive is to indoctrinate students with his "socialist ideology."

Socialist ideology.

Little Pammy, again beating everyone else to the low road:

"It would be funny, if it weren't so sad. The Department of Education, which should be abolished but that for another day, is rife with spelling errors (!) in its Obama indoctrination day announcement.
This is from the White House, more from that illustrious Harvard-educated POTUS"

"Rife with errors" consisting, apparently of one typo, which Pammy was so kind as to circle in red for our enlightenment. I guess, by the way, she thinks Obama proofreads everything that comes from the executive branch. Wrong again, Pammy. He's too busy praying to Allah while planning his Communist dictatorship.

"Math, geography, spelling, English - that's for fascists! What's important is junk science, global hoaxes, and the green-colored slave labor market. Live for the sake of "the man" and like it!
Obama, stay away from my children."

God, what does that even mean? Talk about sputtering in anger.

Barbara Curtis, Pajamas Media: "pushing a curriculum turning children’s hearts towards Obama — has riveted the attention of conservative parents nationwide....Substitute the word “God” for “the President,” and it should be clear why something Obama supporters call benign is malignant to those who teach their children to put God and family first."

Barbara, do you, by any remote chance, remember that thing about "render unto Caesar?" Of course, the guy who said that doesn't really have much to do with your brand of Christianity.

The Sundries Shack: "What Happens to the Separation of Church and State When the State Acts Like a Church? Our kids are force-fed enough government propaganda at school about everything from personal hygiene to what food they should eat to whether plastic water bottles will kill their little dog because it doesn’t recycle well."

"Force fed government propaganda." So that's what they call health class these days. I wish I'd thought of that when I was in seventh grade.

Right Soup: "Obama Wants Your Kid In His Cult"

I.e. that evil, evil, EVIL Democratic party.

As you can see, Green Eagle, despite his usually boundless fund of sarcasm, can't really be bothered to reply to much of this. Just let me say that this has now gone beyond using any dirty trick to fight specific Democratic proposals. These people are set upon utterly destroying the credibility of Obama and the Democratic party, and making it impossible for them to do what they were elected to do.

We can't predict the future, and we can always take some comfort in the boundless laziness of the American people, but these people are trying to foment a violent revolt resulting in the replacement of Obama with a fascist dictatorship. That is the simple truth, as hard as it may be for many people to face; and there is a real chance they will succeed.
