Health Care News

Just a couple of pieces of information about the medical care debate.

The first considers the notion of a "trigger" which many people have been talking about lately. This consists of claiming to have passed a public option, but only having it go into effect some time down the line, if insurance companies don't meet certain goals. Now here's what it really means: giving the insurance companies five or ten more years to rape the American public, and then subjecting ourselves to another unbearable synthetic Republican hissy fit, resulting in an excuse being found to put things off for another five or ten years. That is to say, "trigger" means "failure."

The other: I am happy to report that, after a year of intense work, President Max Baucus has today announced his carefully considered health care reform proposal.

No, I am not going to bore you with the details of this sick, abominable piece of trash. If you really want to know, you can find out about it just about anywhere. Suffice it to say, that Baucus has managed to come up with a bill which is actually worse than what we have now- whose main feature seems to be less medical care for more money. Unbelievable, huh? The guy is actually worse than the insurance companies we're trying to regulate.

What a world.
