Will the Rioters Show?

That is, when (as now seems likely, despite Trump's skill in damaging the legal system at every step) the indictments (I think there will be several, sooner or later) start coming in.

Well, this is based on Green Eagle's experience, going back 15 years or so, reporting on threatened wingnut uprisings, and what actually transpired, but I think you have to look at that record.  I have seen constant predictions of as many as 2 million furious right wingers that were supposed to show up to kick Obama out of the White House, shut down Congress, overturn election results in a number of States,  riot over Terry Schiavo, or the fact that the Bush administration didn't kill enough people in Iraq, etc.  These have almost inevitably resulted in crowds numbering in, at most, a few hundred, who stood around for a couple of hours while lower level Conservative operatives tried to swindle them out of their money, and then went home, proud of their stand for patriotism.

Yeah, we had January 6th, but even that involved a few thousand idiots, who accomplished nothing except committing a wide variety of miserable crimes, and that was, I think, at a high point in their realization that demographics were destroying their chances to impose their will on everyone else.

So, my prediction: Yeah, a few hundred will show up here and there (in New York City, at Mar-a-Lago, maybe a couple of other places,) demonstrating their real inability to put together any kind of mass movement, and that will be that.

Now, I can see this:  when Trump is indicted and refuses to appear in court, hiding out at Mar-a-Lago, with Ron DeSantis refusing to extradite him, a few hundred armed morons, or maybe as many as a thousand or two, will show up to surround Trump's villain lair, on the assumption that Federal forces will never act against an American crowd.  And as long as the only issue is the Stormy Daniels payoff, they probably would be right.  But when the real indictments, from Fani Willis, the DOJ and the New York Attorney General come down, the government will be forced to face reality: unprecedented treachery on the part of a (former) President will demand an unprecedented response.  These tools in the hands of a traitor will have to be neutralized at whatever cost.

I don't actually expect that to happen either.  I think that, as it gets to that point, Trump will, one way or another (helicopter in the middle of the night?) escape to a vessel off the Florida coast, to be transported immediately to his new adopted city, Moskva on the river.
