The Republican Lie Machine Fires a New Cannon

Glancing at the wingnut web yesterday, I saw a story that I had missed entirely:

Diamond and Silk:  "BOMBSHELL: AG Barr Indicts 8 For Funneling Millions In Foreign Donations To Schiff, Clinton and Top Democrats"

Catholic Answers:  "Barr Indicts 8 for illegally funneling foreign money to Schiff, Hillary and several Dem senators"

State Department Watch:  "JUST LAST WEEK DOJ INDICTED 8 FOR FUNNELING MILLIONS IN FOREIGN DONATIONS TO ADAM SCHIFF AND DEMOCRATS… BUT SCHIFF HAS GALL TO ACCUSE TRUMP OF USING FOREIGN NATION TO CHEAT?"

Lucianne.com:  "Bill Barr Indicts 8 Including Mueller...Top Witness for Funneling Millions in  Foreign Donations to Adam Schiff,  Hillary Clinton and Top Senate Democrats"

Ace of Spades:  "Bill Barr's DOJ Indicts Pedophile/Mueller Source George Nader and Seven Others For Conspiring to Make Illegal Donations to Democrats, Including Adam Schiff...Bill Barr just broke up a massive scheme to illegally funnel foreign money into darn near every Democratic political candidate and organization. 

The list of the Dem organizations taking this illegal money is astounding – almost every Dem state organization and many super PAC’s including the big one Priorities USA.  All of the leading names in the Democratic party took in this money including Adam Schiff and Ted Lieu, Jon Tester, Cory Booker, Hillary Clinton, etc."

And on and on the posts on this "story" go.  There are literally dozens of articles about this in Republican world today; I counted 39 of them in the first five pages of hits when I did a Google search.

Of course, the story seems to have been originally spread by the biggest liar on the internet, Jim Hoft:

The list of the Dem organizations taking this illegal money is astounding – almost every Dem state organization and many super PAC’s including the big one Priorities USA...All of the leading names in the Democratic party took in this money including Adam Schiff and Ted Lieu, Jon Tester, Cory Booker, Hillary Clinton, etc."

Curiously, I was unable to find a single article about this massive scandal in any mainstream publication.  After their swallowing of Republican lies about Benghazi and Hillary's e-mails, you know that they would have already been screaming about this for days.  But of course, the explanation for that is obvious, as clearly revealed by Mr. Hoft:

"The Liberal Media covered up a HUGE liberal campaign donations scandal last week.  A HUGE DEMOCRAT MULTI-MILLION DOLLAR CAMPAIGN DONATIONS SCANDAL WAS BROKEN UP!"

Of course, every media outlet in the country to the left of Joseph Goebbels covered it up! Not a single one of them reported on this gigantic scoop, for some reason.  That explains everything.

It has been obvious for some time that whatever damning evidence emerges about the corrupt, treasonous behavior of the Trump White House, Trump and his trained monkey of an Attorney General are going to fabricate a blizzard of lies accusing the Democrats of exactly the same thing, only on a much worse level.  We know the fix is in after the Inspector General utterly denied the Trumpian delusions about the investigations of his criminality, and Barr announced that there is another investigation covering the exact same territory, only conducted by a Ken Starr-like stooge who can be trusted to lie as easily as Trump and Barr.  

So here is just one installment in this plan: a completely fictitious scandal accusing the Democrats of crimes identical to the ones Trump committed.  Hold on to your seats, because for the next year, it is going to be one after another of these vicious smears, and sad to say, like the e-mail story, a couple of them might stick.
