Wingnut Wrapup

A lot piled up here, as of course the liars are going to be out in force for the next couple of months.  Let's just get through this batch of lies, so we can move on to the next batch.

I thought I would begin today with a bit of the self-delusion the wingnuts are dishing out concerning Trump's treachery with the Post Office.  There wasn't as much as I expected- I think even wingnuts know it's a lost cause to explain that away- but here is what I found:

Beth Baumann, Town Hall:  "WATCH: CNN's Latest Spin Over Mail-Ballots Takes a Ridiculous Nosedive...The Republican National Committee's Communications Director, Michael Ahrens, on Friday highlighted CNN's blatant media bias when it comes to mail-in voting. The left-wing news organization had an article about New Jersey's decision to utilize voting by mail. Conveniently, CNN left out the fact four men – one of which is a sitting councilman and one that is a councilman-elect – had charges pressed against them for voting fraud."

Four.  FOUR!  FOUR MEN! Out of the 125 million or so that will cast votes this fall!  That is far more important than mass vote suppression by the President of the United States, so shut up, you liberals!

"What's amazing is that it took eight people – Elizabeth Hartfield, Paul LeBlanc, Rachel Janfaza, Ellie Kaufman, Marshall Cohen, Jason Hoffman, Kelly Mena and Nicky Robertson – to write the story. Not one of them mentioned this voter fraud. And the bottom of the concluded in typical CNN fashion:  "In reality, there is no widespread voter fraud in US elections, and nonpartisan experts say neither party automatically benefits when states expand access to mail-in voting."

No widespread voter fraud!  How dare liberals say that?  FOUR MEN!!!!!!!  Just like in Benghazi!  Which reminds me, what about her e-mails?  Were any of them sent to Hunter Biden?

Nick Arama, Red State:  "Protesters Have Now Been Shifted to the New Democratic Conspiracy Theory...Democrats and media have been pushing a crazy conspiracy that President Donald Trump wants to defund the USPS in order to steal the election."

It's a conspiracy theory, despite the fact that Trump has openly admitted that that's exactly what he is doing.

"Democrats are literally trying to undermine the confidence in the election."

Something that our great Republican President openly does every single day.  Just one more example of blaming the Democrats for what Republicans do with impunity.

Nick Arama, Red State:  "Joe Biden Dives Headlong Off the Deep End With the Wacky Postal Conspiracy Against Trump"

Nick seems to be Red State's go-to guy on the Post Office issue.  Same crap here, just tied to Biden.  Good luck with that, Nick.

Tyler O'Neil, PJ Media:  "J. Christian Adams Explains Why 'Voter Suppression' Is a 'Fantasy Concept'

In case the name J. Christian Adams is not familiar to you, he has been one of the Republican party's greatest experts on implementing voter suppression for decades, and a right wing religious lunatic to boot.  Under George W. Bush he was "a Department of Justice (DOJ) civil rights election lawyer" who spent his whole time fabricating ways to eliminate civil rights suits involving minorities, and focus the entire department on "discrimination" against right wing Christians.

“I’ll give a $500 gift card to anybody who can find a federal law that mentions voter suppression,” Adams told PJ Media. “It is a term invented by the left to blend the legal with the illegal, the acceptable with the unacceptable.”

Green Eagle will give a a five million dollar gift card to anyone that finds a law mentioning "causing someone to die by eating their liver when they are alive," but it is still murder.

“There’s no rule that says everybody must be encouraged to vote. Campaigns build strategies around discouraging people from voting. It’s legal and it’s what everybody does,” he explained."

REPUBLICAN campaigns build strategies around discouraging people from voting.  I have never heard of a Democrat doing that.  In plain English, to paraphrase Richard Nixon, "It's legal when a Republican does it."  And in further news:

Tyler O'Neil, PJ Media:  "EXCLUSIVE: Trump Turns the Tables on Civil Rights Commission With Appointment of J. Christian Adams...This week, President Donald Trump appointed J. Christian Adams to the U.S. Civil Rights Commission.  Adams’ willingness to defend white plaintiffs against black defendants in civil rights cases contrasted with the Obama DOJ’s interpretation of civil rights law"

He sure did "turn the tables."  He appointed a known racist who has fought for years to destroy the Civil Rights Commission's mandate and turn it into a propaganda factory for right wing Evangelical Christianity.  Way to go there, Donny.

CNN’s Jake Tapper: “There is no evidence of widespread voter fraud.”

White House chief of staff Mark Meadows: “There’s no evidence that there’s not, either. That’s the definition of fraud, Jake.”

No evidence of fraud is proof of fraud.  When Republicans are making the charges.  Of course, when the tables are turned, infinite evidence of Republican criminality is proof that they are innocent.  Case in point: one Donald J. Trump.

Jeff Davidson, Town Hall:  "Biden and Harris Are Incapable of Steering the Economy Effectively"

No 33% drops in one quarter for them! That takes steering beyond their capacity, that's for sure.  Only the business genius and six times bankrupt Trump could accomplish that.  Jeff makes his argument by quoting Henry Morgenthau, FDR's Treasury secretary in 1939:

"We have tried spending money. We are spending more than we have ever spent before and it does not work. And I have just one interest, and if I am wrong somebody else can have my job. I want to see this country prosperous. I want to see people get a job. I want to see people get enough to eat. We have never made good on our promises, I say after eight years of this administration -- we have just as much unemployment as when we started. And an enormous debt to boot!”

Jeff conveniently forgot to include what Morgenthau, a life long opponent of deficit spending said (in the same speech) that the solution was:

"We have never begun to tax the people in this country the way they should be ... I don't pay what I should. People in my class don't. People who have it should pay."

Higher taxes on the rich to cut government debt in a time of economic hardship.  Funny Jeff didn't mention that.  And  by the way, let's just examine Morgenthau's claim in light of known facts.  Here is the unemployment rate during the great depression:

If you count the depression as having started in 1930, you could make the claim Morgenthau did.  However, Roosevelt did not take office until 1933, at which point Republican policies had driven unemployment up to close to 25%.  By 1937, Keynesian policies had reduced the unemployment rate to about 14%, in four years.  That is when Roosevelt made the biggest mistake in his Presidency and allowed people like Morgenthau to convince him that the danger was over, and he could stop what had worked so well.  The unemployment rate began immediately rising again, until it reached about 18%, at which point Roosevelt reverted to Keynesianism, and the unemployment rate began its long term drop once again, reaching a low of about 2% during World War II.  Like all fiscal conservatives, Morgenthau was just lying about the facts.

"Prior to the pandemic, President Trump's economic policies worked enormously well."

That should read "Prior to the pandemic, Obama's economic policies worked enormously well, until the economy hit its first roadblock under Trump, and then it collapsed into a depression under his leadership."

Scott Hounsell, Red State:  "COVID-19 is a Deadly Virus … to Free Enterprise"

Yeah, that's it.  That's what Americans are worried about.  Dying themselves?  Who cares? Remember, corporations are people, so maybe the 170,000 people who died were really corporations, which would be far more terrible than if mere humans had died.

Matt Margolis, PJ Media:  "No, Trump Never 'Promoted' the Birther Conspiracy Theory About Kamala Harris"

Yes he did, you lying dick.  From NPR:

"Twenty-four hours after entertaining and amplifying a false and racist birther conspiracy aimed at Sen. Kamala Harris, President Trump had an opportunity to correct the record. He didn't. Neither did his son-in-law and top adviser Jared Kushner.  For Trump, this is a return to familiar territory."

It's familiar territory to all of us.  Except Matt, I guess.

Tyler O'Neil, PJ Media:  "HUGE: Joe Biden Alienated Black Voters by Choosing Kamala Harris"

Hah.  A huge but undetectable group. Talk about giving in to wishful thinking.

Matt Margolis, PJ Media:  "The Media Is Absolutely Wacko for Claiming Kamala Harris Is a 'Moderate’

Coming from someone who undoubtedly thinks Mitt Romney is a Leninist.

Bryan Preston, PJ Media:  "BREAKING: Trump Brokers Peace Deal Between Israel and the United Arab Emirates"

I've just got to get one story about this in here today.  This deal has been worked on by Israel and the UAE for years, and Donald Trump had sod all to do with it.  You know that is true because if The World's Greatest Deal Maker had gotten involved, it would have blown up in everyone's faces, just like his "deal" with Kim Jong Un did, and his trade negotiations with China and his diplomacy with our European (former) allies. The only person he can negotiate with is Putin, with whom his negotiating strategy is, "What do you want, Vlad?  Okay, you got it."

Rick Moran, PJ Media:  "New Trump Ad Will Make Voters Ask Why Joe Biden Picked a Black Woman to Be His Running Mate"

No dog whistles there.  No, really.  Rick is just asking the question that is on everyone's lips- everyone who is a racist.  Curiously, Rick never answers his own question in this column.  Maybe that's because the real answer, that she is about ten thousand times more qualified to be Vice President than Mike Pence, regardless of her race or sex, is something he would never allow himself to say out loud.

Jim Hoft, Gateway Pundit:  "Garbage DC Website Known for Promoting Conspiracies Attacks Gateway Pundit After Crashing White House Press Corps Coven"

How dare they?  And what garbage DC website would that be?

"On Saturday the far left garbage website Washington Post wrote a hit piece on The Gateway Pundit, The Epoch Times and OANN for crashing their White House party."

Far left garbage website  the Washington Post!  Oh, and did Joe mention that they are a "garbage website?"  Oh yeah, he did, four times in his article.  And hundreds of thousands of people who would never read the Washington Post or any other mainstream news source rely on things like Jim's, dare I say it, garbage website, for their information.

Jim Hoft, Gateway Pundit:  "Two Boys Robbed at Gunpoint at Their Lemonade Stand in Peoria, Illinois"

All the news that's fit to print.  I'm not sure, but how much would you like to bet that the robbers were black?  And the following story is circulating all over the place today:

Danielle Haynes, UPI:  "Trump donates $100K paycheck to National Park Service"

Just to be clear, he did not just donate the $100K paycheck to the National Park Service.  He donated it for the sole purpose of restoring Confederate monuments taken down or damaged by the recent protests.  Let no chance for a racist outrage go unused.

Cliff Kincaid, Renew America:  "Congressional candidate takes on Soros...As “a conservative wife, mother, and businesswoman who stands with President Trump and against the left-wing socialists who want to wreck our country,” she dared to call billionaire left-wing money bags George Soros the “enemy of the people.”  But Google the name of Marjorie Taylor Greene and you will be bombarded with stories designed to create the impression this Christian woman is a crazy conspiracy theorist."

No comment needed.

Tucker Carlson:  "Most compelling voice against abortion is Kanye West"

How unique.  At once, the most compelling voice against abortion and the most compelling argument for it.

Andrea Widberg, American Thinker:  "Barack Obama is meddling in the upcoming election"

Because he has no right to express his opinion about American politics.  And we know why, too.

Eric Mack, Newsmax:  "Stephen Baldwin to Newsmax TV: 'Trump's Going to Win'

Let me just state my opinion on this as politely as I can.  I got to know both Stephen and Pauly Shore (who was a very nice guy, by the way) when working on the movie Biodome.  Stephen made Pauly seem like Albert Einstein in comparison.

Marlo Safi, Daily Caller:  "Here’s What We Know About The New Bubonic Plague In China"

Plague in China!  Ooh, scary!  Here comes another disease from China!  Only Trump can save us!  Apparently, we don't know much, since here is the entire content of this post:

"While the coronavirus pandemic has occupied most of the attention in 2020, the cause of the deadliest epidemic in human history has also appeared on medical radars: the bubonic plague."

Oh wait, to see the rest of the article, you must be a "Patriot," which presumably means that you have to give these assholes money.  Forget it.

In fact, after his usual half hearted internet search, Green Eagle has discovered that China, population 1.4 billion, has detected one case of plague, in a shepherd in inner Mongolia.  On average, there are seven detected cases of plague in the United States every year.  But CHINA!!! Be afraid, people, be very afraid!  CHINA!!!!  ONLY TRUMP CAN SAVE US!

Jared Kushner, Washington Post:  "The historic deal between Israel and the UAE shows Trump’s strategy is paying off"

Trump's strategy of taking credit for things he had nothing to do with.  A skill he has perfected through constant practice.

Dan Baltz, Washington Post:  "Democrats head to convention united against Trump, but expecting conflict once the election is over"

Here it comes, right on schedule! "Democrats in disarray," even when they are amazingly united.  Expect to hear a lot more about this in the coming three months, along with maybe a couple of articles about how it's all good for John McCain.

Before it's News:  "The United States Justice Department, on behalf of President Donald J. Trump, has finalized a sealed indictment naming Dr. Anthony Fauci, director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases and member of the coronavirus taskforce, a traitor to America, according to a Washington sources familiar with the issue...The indictment, which currently sits on the Resolute Desk in the Oval Office, charges Fauci with numerous high crimes and misdemeanors, many of which could see Fauci stripped of his medical license and deported to GITMO for the rest of his natural life. Those charges reportedly include treason, conspiring with the enemy, and fraud."

This is the sixth or seventh time this indictment has been "finalized," that I have heard, "according to a Washington sources familiar with the issue."  Meanwhile, seems like every time they repeat this idiotic story, another one of their own people gets arrested.

"Sources close to the Fauci probe said Trump became suspicious of Fauci’s intentions after reading Tweets linking the doctor to a “Deep State” coup designed to cripple his reelection campaign. These Tweets alleged Fauci and none other than Barack Hussein Obama had orchestrated a “hoax” to tank the economy...Moreover, Fauci has been a frequent guest of CNN and MSNBC, networks that often criticize Trump’s pandemic response endeavors. He has used his status as one of America’s most notable physicians to directly contradict Trump’s messages."

Contradicting Trump's lies is treason, because of course it is.

Beth Baumann, Town Hall:  "Tlaib Slams DNC and Votes 'No' on the Party Platform"

I like to run stories like this periodically, because they illustrate how absolutely inconceivable it is to Republicans that a party could tolerate any disagreement in its ranks.

Bonchie, Red State:  "Joe Biden Spreads Wild Conspiracy Theories, Shows the Ridiculous Hypocrisy of Democrats and the Media"

What wild conspiracies?  That Trump is damaging the post office to help his reelection.

Nick Arama, Red State:  "Trump Supporters Going for World’s Record Boat Parade In Florida"

Just a sign of how desperate they are to come up with any good news about Trump.

Do they actually think that jackass stunts like this are going to change a single vote, or is it all nothing but an attempt to keep Trump from degenerating into a psychotic rage when he realizes that nobody except fools like this wants him around any more?

Mike Miller, Red State:  "Dazed & Confused: Media Reports 150 Times More Negative News on Trump Than Biden"

That's called reporting the truth, buddy.

Wayne Dupree, LifeZette:  "WATCH: Antifa showed up at Sturgis Motorcycle Rally and were instantly clobbered by bikers while crowd chanted ‘USA! USA!’

There have been a number of stories about this alleged incident online lately- the first time I remember a major political party cheering the fact that people were beaten up by motorcycle gangs.  And the very next story on this blog:

Drew Berquist, LifeZette:  "WATCH: Squad member Ayanna Pressley boldly calls for more ‘unrest in the streets’

I guess bikers beating peaceful protesters is not 'unrest in the streets' as long as Republican bikers are doing the beating.

Beth Baumann, Town Hall:  "(The Democratic Party's) concern – or disgust, depending on who you ask – was ratcheted up when Biden tapped Sen. Kamala Harris (D-CA) to be his running mate."

Did you notice the Dems being that disgusted?  Me either.  We must not be as sensitive to emotions as Beth is.

"Harris continued on, saying that "they" – the Republicans – want to strip Americans of the right to vote because it can and will change the course of our nation. Of course, that's not the case. We want fair and secure elections."

Sure you do.

"Let's see how this impacts voters. Will people despise Biden-Harris more than Trump, to the point where they cast a third party vote?"

Starting to count on some pretty remote scenarios, aren't we, Republicans?  If you really want to win, I'd suggest sticking with the cheating, and forget the self-delusion.

Dennis Prager, Town Hall:  "Everything the Left Touches It Ruins. Now Add Science."

I may have said this once or twice before, but fuck you, Dennis.  This miserable lying schmuck is talking about Hydroxychloroquine here.  The left ruining science apparently consists of believing what scientists find out.

"Forthcoming columns will deal with more areas of life ruined by the left, including, most troubling of all, America itself."

Fuck you, Dennis.  Oh, did I say that already?  Well, it was worth repeating.

And of course, now a little wingnut coverage of the first night of the Democratic convention.  More of this to follow next time, as they desperately try to hang on to their main campaign claim that it is Joe Biden and not Trump who is a doddering, ignorant old fool:

Matt Vespa, Town Hall:  "Is This Real? Why Some Are Calling the DNC Outro Monday Night 'The Moment Trump Won Re-Election'

"Some" being three random people on Twitter that you never heard of before.

Matt Vespa, Town Hall:  "You Can Tell That Bernie Can't Muster the MoJo to Give Biden a Full-Throated Progressive Endorsement"

Whereas every single Republican leader can muster the "mojo" to give their criminal traitor in chief, who just ruined the economy and the health of the country, a ringing endorsement.  I leave you to decide which is a better option for our country.

Before it's News:  "How Many First Ladies Were Actually Men?"

We'll never know, because I couldn't take thirty seconds of this video.  I did hear enough to learn that the Antichrist will be transgendered.  Who knew?

And a little more "Democrats in Disarray:"

Washington Post:  "Democrats wonder: Does the party have a unified vision for America?"

Anyone who thinks the mainstream press is going to give the Democrats a fair break this time around, despite every one of them knowing what it means if Trump cheats his way in there again, had better think again.  No matter how qualified he is, and how abominable Trump is, Biden is going to be swimming upstream against the spillage from a broken dam of lies.

Dinesh D'Souza:  "Dinesh D’Souza: “Michelle Obama Knows Trump is Morally Superior"

How he can even say that without lightning striking him dead is beyond me.  Criminal, sexual pervert, liar, bully, traitor...boy, that really defines morally superior to me.

And the Obama scandal of the day:

Michael Thau, Red State:  "Obama Let Windmill Biz Kill Endangered Bald Eagles."

No word about a President who let a virus kill 170,000 American human citizens.  Michael's answer? Ban wind energy, and go back to fossil fuel. Because of course that's his answer.   Michael continues by bringing up one of Donald Trump's biggest hits:

"it might be a good time to revisit some remarks about windmills Trump made last April at a fundraiser.  “If you have a windmill anywhere near your house, congratulations, your house just went down 75 percent in value. And they say the noise causes cancer."

Of course, nothing sends the ever-vigilant guardians of the establishment narrative known by that quintessential piece of Orwellian doublespeak, “fact-checkers,” scurrying to their keyboards faster than when Donald Trump points out something nobody’s supposed to be noticing."

Something nobody's supposed to be noticing because it is a preposterous lie.

Well, that clears the decks for the next round of malicious idiocy, coming soon to a website near you.
