I Can't Believe I'm Reading This In The Washington Post

I insist that you take the time to read an article by Paul Waldman in the Washington Post, which you can find here.

The Washington Post has always been the epicenter of both-siderism, and long gave employment to its grand emperor, David Broder.  I guess things are changing since Jeff Bezos bought the paper a few years ago, but I never thought I would read truth like this in the mainstream press.  Honestly, it sounds like something Driftglass, Infidel or I would have written.  I'm so stunned to see things spelled out this honestly that I just don't know what to say.  PLEASE read this article- it is virtually the most important thing I have seen in the mainstream press in years.  I don't even want to quote excerpts from it; you need to see the whole thing.  Please take my advice- you will be so glad you did.

The only comfort I can take from the recent actions of the GOP, is that they've ripped off the mask, and openly state that it is now Party before Nation. I do hope the (D)'s take control of the Senate, and use the nuclear option. If Mrs. Clinton becomes then next President, she needs to have the ability to nominate, and have considered, a nominee to the Court. Senator McCain (among others) have stated they're fine with leaving the Supreme Court with a vacant spot or three. Shutting down the government didn't seem to harm the GOP much, so they've become emboldened to take a whack at the highest court of the nation. Time to get out the vote, and let the government get to work again.

The GOP has had six years to come up with a detailed plan to replace the ACA. One has yet to be revealed, aside from "don't get sick, and if you do, die quickly". The ACA may not be great, but it is better than what we had before it was enacted. It could have been improved, but the party of NO cares less about the people of this nation, and more for the medical, drug, and insurance companies which help fund their campaigns.

It's remarkable in its forthrightness. Perhaps some in the media are starting to worry that if this wingnut lunacy continues and gains power, they themselves will eventually be endangered by it. They're smart enough to know that even he who appeases the crocodile in hopes of being eaten last, still eventually gets eaten.

Infidel, I'm cynical enough to think that it's not that people in the media are starting to worry about Trump, but that their masters who own things are afraid that Trump may really cause an economic collapse that could destroy their wealth, and are ordering the always compliant people they hired to blast out their propaganda night and day to slightly modify their behavior, thinking that at this point a damaged Hillary Clinton is still preferable to Trump. Of course, with Jeff Bezos now owning the Washington Post, there have been a number of signs that something more hopeful might be going on in this single case.
