Things That Used To Be Important
To the mainstream press, I guess.
Remember Benghazi? Four Federal workers killed in an ISIS attack, and it became the fodder for four years of Republican abuse, smears and hatred by the Republicans, virtually every second of which was dutifully reported by the so-called liberal press in this country as an impeachable offense by the terminally hateful Obama and Hillary. Not this time around, though:
It is hardly worth mentioning that, since this happened several days ago, the Trump administration has not had one word to say about these dead soldiers, in between its incessant piggish attacks on football players. Sad to say, it is also hardly surprising that the press, which abetted the Republicans' dirty game with the phony Benghazi scandal, just doesn't seem to care much about this one. No, these four dead Americans will be allowed to disappear from the national consciousness, while there are still Republicans and their stooges in the press that continue to tell lies about Benghazi.
And thus, I am forced to repeat Green Eagle's Ultimate Maxim: The Democrats could beat the Republicans into oblivion without hardly trying; what they cannot do is beat the Republicans and the mainstream press working together. The press, owned as it is almost entirely by rich Republicans (thank you, Ronald Reagan and Newt Gingrich) is not the Republicans' dupe; it their accomplice.

"The Defense Department has identified the fourth service member killed in an ambush in Niger on Wednesday as 25-year-old Army Sgt. La David Johnson.
Johnson was killed by enemy fire in the ambush, the Pentagon said. His body was recovered by US personnel Friday in a remote area of the northwestern African country by Nigerian troops nearly 48 hours after he was discovered missing in the wake of the attack, US officials told CNN on Friday.
Johnson's group was attacked near the Niger-Mali border by up to 50 fighters thought to be affiliated with ISIS, a US official said."

No you can not win and we are losing big time every day and it sucks to see the guts ripped out of so many things held dear that is the actual substance of what made this country great.
No, I am not going to take the time to respond to your contentious bullshit. If you can't see the difference between the way Republicans treat Democratic Presidents and their own, you are a really pathetic person.
