Steve King Throws a Party

Congressman Steve King, one of the most unrepentant racists and immigrant haters in Washington, held an anti-immigration rally this past weekend:
I know this is getting boring, but as long as the Mainstream press treats the teabaggers, the anti-immigrant racists, the Bundy Ranch would-be terrorists, and all the rest of the right wing haters as a significant movement in this country, I'm going to keep showing the truth.

And what is the truth?  This supposed movement is largely a creation of rich people like the Koch Brothers, who over the years have spent tens if not hundreds of millions of dollars manufacturing the illusion that large parts of the voting public support whatever the rich guys want.

Apparently, this was one of a number of immigration "protests" held across the country this weekend; all of them were busts, attracting at most 40 people, as few as 3.  Yet we are held hostage by this mirage of a movement, because it suits the mainstream press and the Republicans to treat them seriously, and the Democrats are, as usual, afraid to tell the truth.

The protests were a bust. Local news reports and pictures posted on social media show anemic turnout, from about 40 people in front of the United Nations in New York to just three at a McClellan, Texas, border control station who wondered if they had gotten the wrong address. - See more at: http://www.rightwingwatch.org/content/anti-immigrant-protests-bust-five-things-weekends-rallies-told-us-about-nativist-right#sthash.d881VBN5.dpuf

is he racist for wanting to monitor Mosques? if so you may recall that both WTC attacks had ties to 2 mosques. 1993 in NJ and 2001 in Germany

sorry that the this influx of illegal immigrants happen to be Latino but they are also coming here to be taken care of and they are carrying diseases and gang members and who knows who else since they are allowed to just walk across.

With democrats it's always about the "children". Well how about the parents of the "Children" who put them in harm's way?
They are so scared for their safety yet they let drug smugglers and sex traffickers bring them here.
And how do these "impoverished" people come up with 7,00 to pay these smugglers? that's a lot of cash for ordinary Americans to come up with
Or perhaps they were "paid" under the the table

Look no further than Europe to see what uncontrolled immigration has done to France, Denmark, Germany or England.

“is he racist for wanting to monitor Mosques?”

It’s not his call. If the FBI or other authority that deals with terror suspects wants to investigate a specific mosque on specific grounds – rather than random treatment of Muslim Americans as second class citizens – then that’s their call, within the limits of the constitution which also applies to Muslim Americans. Appeasing Islamophobic morons is a waste of resources.

And King WAS displaying prejudice for taking issue with Obama’s middle name just because it isn’t ‘Timothy’ or ‘Richard’ or something suitably WASP sounding.

“immigrants happen to be Latino but they are also coming here to be taken care of and they are carrying diseases?”

You mean they’re facing slow death if they don’t do something, anything, to escape the cataclysmic pit of poverty and despair into which they were born? Maybe you’d do differently. Maybe you’d say “fair enough” and just cheerfully die in filth rather than do whatever it takes to survive… But somehow I doubt it.
This is as old as time. Did you know that Jack the Ripper was suspected to be Jewish because at the time there was widespread hatred of Jews in London because they were fleeing Czarist Russia? Hatred of the refugee is a standard reaction among the intellectually feeble and emotionally stunted. It is a standard manifestation of the basic cowardice that underpins all thinking we now call the far Right.
Fear Fear Fear. Gutless cowardice. The grasping desire to hurt someone vulnerable.

“they let drug smugglers and sex traffickers bring them here”

No they don’t. Drug smuggling and child sex trafficking is still illegal in the United States of America.

“Look no further than Europe to see what uncontrolled immigration has done to France, Denmark, Germany or England. “

NONE of them have uncontrolled immigration. You don’t know any more about other countries than you do your own.
They all have departments of immigration answerable to governments that are in turn answerable to voters. And by England you mean the United Kingdom.
As you are a dupe for Right wing propaganda you have a vague conception of the world wherein the rest of the civilised world means Europe and all European political things – but not European racial things – are somehow sinister. Drop these simple-minded nativist idiocies. They do not enhance your life and they make you sound foolish.
