More Proof that the Human Race Has Lost the Evolutionary Race

And is about to go extinct:

"2013 – Rick Santorum, former U.S. senator and GOP presidential candidate, is now CEO of EchoLight Studios, the first movie company to produce, finance, market and distribute faith-based, family films across all releasing platforms. Santorum announced his new venture Saturday, June 22, on FNC’s “The Huckabee Show.”

EchoLight’s upcoming first theatrical, THE REDEMPTION OF HENRY MYERS, is slated for a fall 2013 release.  Meanwhile, EchoLight’s second theatrical is in post-production, a film based on the inspiring story of Illinois basketball player Eric “Hoovey” Elliott, starring Patrick Warburton and Lauren Holly, and directed by SOUL SURFER’s Sean McNamara, to release in 2014.

“This is the right place and right time, and I’ve jumped in with both feet,” Santorum said, having spent the past year helping EchoLight develop and grow. “I often say that culture is upstream from politics, and I know entertainment  also can be strength and light for people who want to be uplifted and reinforced in their values.”

Oy vay.  Oy vay iss mir.  How could any movie company on earth hire this miserable, ignorant schmendrick to be their CEO?  Exactly how fast are they intending to wash their entire bankroll down the sewer?  What the hell do they think he knows about making movies (let alone anything else)?

Here's more that will have you rolling in the aisles screaming with laughter:

"EchoLight’s commitment to new filmmakers already has impressive numbers:

a $250,000 commitment to produce and distribute a new work by the winner of the Short Film category in the 2013 San Antonio Independent Christian Film Festival
a multi-year, multi-million agreement to produce films from Liberty University’s Cinematic Arts program with production wrapped on the first film from that effort
up to $1 million pledged to produce and distribute a new work from the Best Film winner in this year’s 168 Film Project."

Or about as much as I remember that we spent on permanent sets a couple of years ago for the Starz TV series Magic City.  Man, that is impressive.  And imagine how those films from the Liberty University Cinematic Arts program are going to push Man of Steel and World War Z right out of the theaters!

I would be unable to believe that it is humanly possible to live in such delusion, if it were not for the fact that these are the same people who believe that the world is 6,000 years old.

And Rick Santorum is going to run the whole thing! The Evangelical Louis B. Mayer! Because it takes exactly zero knowledge or experience to run a motion picture studio, just Faith In Jesus.  You could just as easily imagine Intel hiring Mike Tyson to be its CEO.

Well, the only saving grace out of this entire pile of dreck is that every penny they squander on this is one penny that won't be spent buying more legislators for the Koch brothers.  Other than that, man is this a disaster in the making.

Maybe most their income will be DVD sales, surly these will be "the" Christmas gift of the faithful. He's got his work cut out, just look at the conditioning of the audience, weekly millions more kids watched Beeves and Butthead, and Cartman than ever went to church.

Joseph, you got me looking around, and I found this wonderful description of this studio's first release, which "premiered" last Saturday:

"25 HILL tells the story of a young boy and an old man -- both affected by tragedy -- finding faith to go on as they ready a car for the All-American Soap Box Derby. It's the first faith-friendly film to feature the renowned race."

Man, that one is going right to the top!
