Cheney At It Again

From the Huffington Post:

"CIA Director Leon Panetta caused a stir this weekend, when New Yorker reporter Jane Mayer quoted him saying former VP Dick Cheney almost seems to want another terrorist attack. Cheney has responded, saying he hopes Panetta was misquoted."

Well, I hope to hell that he wasn't misquoted, because Cheney doesn't almost want a terrorist attack. It's been obvious for months that Cheney absolutely wants another terrorist attack, and is doing everything he can to encourage people to think that Obama is so weak they can get away with it.

Remember how, a few years back, anyone who dared to voice the least criticism was called a traitor by Dick and his friends? Well, this is what real treason- giving aid and comfort to the enemy- looks like.

Is it any wonder that right wing domestic terrorists feel free to shoot up the country, when our right wing ex-vice president thinks it's okay to encourage Al Qaida to do the same?

"Obama is so weak"

Isn't there something about people who are obsessed with not looking weak. Even Stupid Sarah has been harping on how the world's only superpower with enough bombs to sterilize the planet several time over must look weak to the North Koreans. I think both Dick and Sarah are obvious cases of penis envy.

I wish I could tell myself that you can explain the whole thing as a combination of manipulation through fear and serving the military contractors, but I am afraid I kind of agree with you. As distasteful as it is to reduce polital analysis to the level of freshman psych, I believe there is an ugly psychological element to the right's need to destroy a strong black leader.

Hamas

  Of ocurse I am going to take the opportunity to talk about the Hamas attack on Israel.   First, I'd like to talk about my background, or baggage, regarding the country.   I have lived in Israel, some years ago.   This was not for religious reasons; I spent several months there working on a movie.   During pre-production, weeks of location scouting and shooting the movie, I was all over the country, and spent a fair amount of time in the West Bank, where we also shot.   This included a lot of places that normal tourists would not see, including predominantly Arab areas such as East Jerusalem, the Arab quarter of the old city, Ramla and the southern part of Jaffa, which is predominantly Arab.   It also included heavily Orthodox areas like Mea Shearim.   I dealt with Israeli Arabs, Palestinians and Bedouins.     Here are a few things I believe I learned there:   First of all, the Palestinians I knew were perfectly normal people with the same interest in living a safe, secure
