Wingnut Wrapup

It's getting harder by the day to find anything funny about the ravings of the conservatives, but Green Eagle is very persistent when it comes to seeking out targets of his mean-spirited ridicule. Here are a few:

AEI’s Norm Ornstein: "Hhmm… 2010 Starting to Look Like 1994"

Norm, you need new glasses

Power Line: "Referring to Peter Baker's New York Times Magazine article that mentioned Bill Clinton's charitable work in South America, I said there was nothing more worthwhile Clinton could do to benefit the people of South America than promoting the protection of property rights within South American countries and the liberalization of trade between them and the United States."

Oh yes, nothing benefits people in poor countries more than giveaways to the rich and multinational corporations. You guys never give up, do you.

Christian Toto, Pajamas Media: "In Hollywood, ‘Hope and Change’ Trumps Critical Thought"

And this is Obama's fault, too? I've got to hand it to you, though- getting the words "Hollywood" and "Critical Thought" in the same sentence. That took some doing.

Gateway Pundit: "Uighurs On Paradise Island-- Italian Dining... Beachfront Living"

Listen, Gateway Pundit, if it weren't for whining Republican crybabies, they could be rotting in the middle of some crime-ridden urban ghetto right now. YOU put them on the beach. Deal with it.

James W. Antle, American Spectator: "It's Time to Get Serious
In the upcoming Sotomayor confirmation hearings, Republicans should play as rough as Democrats."

Maybe a few more murders? How can you even say this without dropping dead from terminal humiliation?

J. C. Arenas: "Obama Bullies Palau"

Boy, this is bound to be a big issue, huh?

Now, here is a comment on some stupid post, that I really liked:

"Allan: you are among a GROWING NUMBER
of people who don't (and DIDN'T) consent to the powers Obama is seizing and exercising!
Regardlenn of doofass-the-deranged thinks the people want, the govt can't just do it without a change (amend) to the CONSTITUTION.
doofass-the-deranged should really pay more attention to the polls."

Great point there. Here's a helpful suggestion: why don't you wait until you complete first grade before posting again.

Finally, here's something from a wingnut I never heard of until today, although he is apparently a popular speaker at tea parties:

Lloyd Marcus: "Liberals: Wolves in Sheep's Clothing"

Lloyd, I guess it's better to be a wolf in wolf's clothing like you guys, huh?

Lloyd is president of the NAACPC:National Association for the Advancement of Conservative People of Color. I kid you not. That must be one small organization.

I thought I would check up on the NAACPC, so I googled it. After the first few hits, which linked to Lloyd's various sites, this is the first thing listed:

"Weekly World News | Tag Archive | naacpc
Feb 25, 2009 ... Tags: american parchment, boston tea party, chicago tea party, Cnbc, lloyd marcus, naacpc, no stimulus bill, no stimulus petition, ...
weeklyworldnews.com/tag/naacpc/ "

Yup. The Weekly World News. Lloyd, is batboy a member of the NAACPC? Inquiring minds want to know.

You really should post links to the articles you refer to ... that way readers can make up their own mind.

And please be specific in labeling my piece an example of 'wingnut' writing. You haven't done so quite yet.

Christian,
Thanks for the comment. I am careful to link to things that I analyze in more detail, except where the originals are so loathsome that I don't want to give them the hits. I have only been doing my "wingnut wrapups" for a few days now, and I will give your suggestion some consideration.

By the way, I have worked here in Hollywood for 25 years or so, on TV shows and movies. I guess it was my own experience that led me to find it so humorous to link Hollywood and critical thought. So, it was a little unfair, I guess, to stick you in there with the likes of Jonah Goldberg and Pam Geller. Thanks for not taking it too seriously.

Democrats are committing murders during the judicial confirmation process? Republicans are? What on earth are you talking about?

At least you spelled my name right... Oh wait. Alas, you could not even manage that.

Terminal embarrassment, indeed.
