A Sad Day in Music

It is with deep regret that I mention the passing at 94 of Les Paul, the man behind the guitar of the same name, and the inventor of the most important advance in the history of recorded music, the multitrack recorder. I have one of his guitars, a left handed Les Paul Custom, which I bought new in 1974. It is virtually identical to the one shown here. They are fantastic instruments, and the most sought after ones, the late 50's gold tops, now go for well over $100,000. Run a Les Paul through a tube screamer into a vintage Fender, and you have the soul of rock in your hands.
