Things Going in the Wrong Direction, Big Time

Really good news, huh:

"WASHINGTON – Militia groups with gripes against the government are regrouping across the country and could grow rapidly, according to an organization that tracks such trends.

The stress of a poor economy and a liberal administration led by a black president are among the causes for the recent rise, the report from the Southern Poverty Law Center says. Conspiracy theories about a secret Mexican plan to reclaim the Southwest are also growing amid the public debate about illegal immigration.

Bart McEntire, a special agent with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, told SPLC researchers that this is the most growth he's seen in more than a decade.

"All it's lacking is a spark," McEntire said in the report."

These people and the malignant jerks on radio and TV, and the entire Republican party, are up to the worst display of anti-American behavior since the civil war. I keep saying this is not going to end well. When it is over, we are going to have a big score to settle with them.

Just as a reminder, the succession was legal. The South was just stupid enough to try and fight the North.

"When it is over, we are going to have a big score to settle with them."

What makes you think that your side will win? With most of the military on our side, along with most Americans, I think this is a no contest.

Derek, I think Green Eagle meant political score, with legal process involved.
You know... rule of law, democracy and all that.

Or maybe you don't know. Maybe a military coup, like Idi Amin's, would make you happier.
That's called "treason", by the way. Thug rule.
But you got the guns, big guy. Might is always right, Right?

"The secession was legal"

Derek, I'm trying to get some work done here. Don't make me laugh so hard that I spill my green tea on my keyboard.

Who says there would be an end then? Succession is perfectly legal. And please don't call America a democracy because it isn't.

Treason is when a person of a nation rebels against a legitimate government that has the right to rule. Note how our founding fathers committed "treason" in the British's eyes, but not in theirs. They realized that governments receive the right to rule not by birth, but by the consent of the people. As soon as the government goes against its very purpose, to protect the rights of the people, that government has just forfeited its right to rule.

You call it thug rule, I call it freedom from oppression.

Well if you'd like to counter my claim, spill some logic and sources and we can clean this up.

Does Derek mean 'Secession'?

"Does Derek mean 'Secession'?"

Got it right the first time, wrong the second. Thanks for the correction and yes, I mean secession.

Derek, America is a democracy.

Obama is president because the people voted for him in a free election. That's democracy.

Gun-toting lunatics wanting to install whoever they like... that's terrorism. They are thugs. And where they succeed... That's tyranny.

Quietmagpie,

Thanks for the help.

It's amazing, isn't it, how far people can lie to themselves, if it suits their purpose?

LOL. No. America is a Constitutional Republic. But hey, maybe you can't tell the difference.

"It's amazing, isn't it, how far people can lie to themselves, if it suits their purpose?"

You never cease to amaze me, GE.

I haven't even left the runway, Derek.

Stick around. More fun to come.

In all seriousness though people, America isn't a democracy, it is a Constitutional Republic. Please get it right.
