Wingnut Wrapup- Palipalooza Edition

All Palin, all the time today:

"She said her decision was "fortified during her visit to the troops in Kosovo."

I hope their decisions aren't fortified by her, or they'll all desert.

Palin, today: "In the words of General MacArthur, 'We are not retreating. We are advancing in another direction."

Yeah. Straight into irrelevance. But I'm sure that's part of your brilliant plan, Sarah.

Jonah Goldberg, Town Hall: "I cheered you mightily when Senator McCain selected you, and I still believe that you were the smartest choice he could have made..."

If he wanted to end up a ridiculous looking loser. Because that's what happened.

Philip Klein, American Spectator: "What (Palin) had, more than anything else, was a toughness and a dedication to her position."

Dedication to her position. As she proved by quitting.

"However....today's bizarre press conference made her look brittle"

"Brittle" being Republican for "self absorbed, irresponsible flake."

Erick Erickson, Red State: "Unfortunately, by resigning, I think the left and national media will be emboldened to ritualistically engage in the metaphorical gang raping of conservative politicians..."

This is so unfair, Erick. If you think any of us wants to rape Dick Cheney, you are crazy. Now if you are really saying that we are going to claim that this is one more proof that conservative politicians are hypocritical, self-serving jerks, that I will agree with.

"this is kind of like Ben Kenobi letting Darth Vader strike him down..."

Oh, of course it is, Erick. Grow up.

Little Pammy, Atlas Shrugs: "The diseased and utterly morally left at work again"(sic)

Huh? What was that? Oh, I get it. It's our fault again. Right, Pammy.

Power Line Comment: "Anyone who thinks this makes her a quitter is full of beans. Her decision will make her the next President of the United States."

And then maybe she can quit that job too.

Power Line Comment: "She resigned at this time because the Lt. Governor needs to establish himself in the roll of governor so he has a shot at winning the next governor's election in Alaska."

It's a political tradition for Republican governors to quit halfway through their term, to make it easier for their Lieutenant governor to win next time. Happens all the time. Only those selfish, irresponsible Democrats would think of actually finishing the job that their State's voters elected them to do.

Power Line Comment: We decided that the country will need someone who has the courage to fight the existing government. Can you think of anyone with more courage than Sarah Palin?

Yeah, the other 49 governors that stayed around to finish their jobs, for a start.

John McCain, Reuters: :"I have the greatest respect and affection for Sarah, Todd, and their family. I was deeply honored to have her as my running mate and believe she will continue to play an important leadership role in the Republican Party....”

Like she did for you, John, you insufferable fool. I mean, leading the Republican party to humiliating defeat.

Michael Bresciani, Renew America: “Governor Sarah Palin resigns effective July 26, 2009 after constant media scrutiny and being the butt of endless and tiring jokes, ridicule and intrusions into her family's privacy. What does this mean?

It means that she was an incompetent, ignorant sham, masquerading as a fit candidate to run our country.
When the press presented the truth, it came out as jokes, because she was a joke. That's what it means, Michael.

Lloyd Marcus, Renew America: “While watching Sarah Palin's resignation speech, I thought, "Who is this amazing woman? What planet did she come from? Will there ever be anyone like her?"

What planet did she come from, Lloyd? You know, I thought the same thing, but I don't think in quite the same way as you did.

Well, there you are. What a panorama of delusion, huh?

I went to two tea parties today, and I can't tell you how many people I met that told me what a brilliant political move it was for her to resign. I guess, whatever planet she comes from, a lot of those people come from there too.
