So That's Who They Are

We learn this interesting Fact from U.S. News:

"Focus on the Family founder James Dobson scolded the White House for neglecting to send a representative to yesterday's National Day of Prayer event at the Capitol, but a source familiar with the situation said the Obama team didn't have much of a chance. That's because the event organizers stipulated that the White House representative had to be opposed to abortion rights, according to this source."

I saw posts all over the right wing web slashing Obama for not participating in the "National Day of Prayer," and thereby proving himself to be anti-prayer.
That's so interesting. It made me wonder how it came to be that you had to be anti-choice in order to pray.

"The prayer day task force operates out of Focus's Colorado Springs headquarters and is chaired by Shirley Dobson, the wife of the Focus founder."

Oh, now I understand. What Barack Obama didn't participate in was actually the National Lets Give Free Publicity to One of The Most Intolerant Right Wing Hatemongers in America Day!

Isn't it time that decent people of faith everywhere take back terms like "Christian" and "prayer" and "family values" from these self-serving, hypocritical liars?

Good for you, Mr. President, for not playing along with their games.

The Interfaith Alliance fought hard to keep the administration from countenancing this bigoted piece of anti-prayer. Kudos to them.

Hamas

  Of ocurse I am going to take the opportunity to talk about the Hamas attack on Israel.   First, I'd like to talk about my background, or baggage, regarding the country.   I have lived in Israel, some years ago.   This was not for religious reasons; I spent several months there working on a movie.   During pre-production, weeks of location scouting and shooting the movie, I was all over the country, and spent a fair amount of time in the West Bank, where we also shot.   This included a lot of places that normal tourists would not see, including predominantly Arab areas such as East Jerusalem, the Arab quarter of the old city, Ramla and the southern part of Jaffa, which is predominantly Arab.   It also included heavily Orthodox areas like Mea Shearim.   I dealt with Israeli Arabs, Palestinians and Bedouins.     Here are a few things I believe I learned there:   First of all, the Palestinians I knew were perfectly normal people with the same interest in living a safe, secure
