American Industry at its Finest

Another milestone in the progress of American industry, this from the BBC:

"Canadian car parts maker Magna International is the preferred bidder for GM Europe, owner of Opel and Vauxhall, Lord Mandelson has said.

The UK business secretary said a deal between Magna and GM was "pretty near".

There you go- the classic American plan to save our manufacturers. Sell off the parts of the company that still make decent cars, in order to finance the long term collapse of the worthless ones.

That's bound to work.
