We Can't AFFORD Health Care- Trust Us.

Rich Galen, who has provided all of Green Eagle's six or seven readers a good deal of amusement in the past, is at it again, at Town Hall:

"...the President's plan to make health care available to everyone will entail, according to Bloomberg, "a 10-year price tag [of] $634 billion."

That's $63 billion a year to provide health care to everyone. By way of comparison, the amount spent for the magnificent but useless F22 fighter by 2006 was $62 billion.

"Even in 2009 that's real money. And, Obama has no idea how to pay for it."

How about this, Rich? How about if we send all of the neocons and Republicans and wingnuts who cheered on a mindless war in Iraq a bill for the three trillion dollars it is going to end up costing? That way, we can all have health care, and we will have $2.3 billion left to build statues of Lenin all over the country.

Now, consider this:

"In a paper for the the National Commission on Energy Policy Koplow (2004) estimated federal subsidies (to energy companies) at between $40 and $69 billion per year in 2003 (2006$)."

In other words, we can pretty much have health care or giveaways to oil companies.
