Another Dishonest Scam
The media are abuzz over the "offer" from the health care industry to cut two trillion dollars in costs over the next few years.
This reminds me of how the oil industry works. They drive prices higher and higher through manufactured shortages and supply manipulation. Then, as soon as people start driving less and thinking seriously about alternative energy, suddenly the price drops again, until the steam has gone out of the move away from fossil fuels, and then the whole process of milking the public begins all over again.
Every one of us has seen this at work.
Do you really think that this bogus promise from the health care industry is any different? Finally, at long, long last, the American public is tired of being extorted by insurance companies and HMO's, tired enough to do something about it. Now, all of a sudden, the health care profit machine claims it wants to play nice.
This is a desperation move to try to bleed off support for health care reform, and nothing else. The minute they succeed in averting change, they will be right back to their old, greedy, piggish ways, until the next time their profits are threatened. If you doubt this in any way, let me tell you, you are living in a parallel universe.
