A hint to those out there who still scream that Obama needs to be more bipartisan: This comment from Republican Senator Jeff Sessions, reported at Think Progress:
"In an interview, Mr. Sessions cited rising unemployment in asserting that the administration intended to “diminish employment and diminish stock prices” as part of a “divide and conquer” strategy to consolidate power.
Mr. Sessions, in his seventh term, said Mr. Obama’s agenda was “intended to inflict damage and hardship on the free enterprise system, if not to kill it.”
The Republican Party- First they spent half a century making us afraid of the great Communist Evil Empire, until it collapsed of its own weight, at which point they took credit for destroying it. Next they spent a decade wailing about how a few hundred guys in caves in Pakistan were going to kill us all. Now it's down to one guy in the White House. Forget the fact that he is apparently so all powerful that he incited the collapse of the stock market and of American jobs long before he was President.
Pretty soon it will turn out that Bo the Dog is going to explode and destroy the earth.
Seriously, what kind of bipartisan cooperation can you have with these guys? Sometimes I think we are like the Children of Israel, doomed to wander in the desert for forty years, until they all die off.
