More Hutaree News
Here's a great post at Talking Points Memo detailing further revelations about the right wing's current stars, the Hutaree Militia:
"One of the nine members of the Hutaree Christian militia prepared for a violent showdown with police -- to the point that he "secreted weapons" around the rural Michigan home where he was holed up late last month -- before finally surrendering after a daylong standoff, prosecutors allege in a new court filing."
More on the order of a daylong temper tantrum, as it turns out.
"He...indicated that the ATF was "raiding" his residence and was looking for him. The defendant then indicated that he needed weapons, and he indicated that he wanted to sneak back into his house and take weapons. He further indicated that the Hutaree would go to war if the government did not release all Hutaree members within two hours. The defendant also stated they would already be "on" (at war with the government) if they had weapons."
"On." Well, I guess he had his chance there to get it "on." Turned out he didn't have it in him to do anything but cower in fear for a few hours and then give up. Great revolutionary there. That's the real militia spirit.
"(Court appointed attorney) Thomas continued: "The government with all of its resources -- which included military-type vehicles, semi-automatic and possibly automatic weapons -- certainly with firepower that was extremely overmatched for the shotguns that Mr. Stone had -- was able to put him in a situation where he was hunkered down and in fear."
And, when he sets off to kill lots of people, don't you think it's a pretty good thing that he was "extremely overmatched?" And what did he think was going to happen? That they were going to send one gunslinger out there to shoot it out with him in the street? This isn't some sort of game or a cheap cowboy movie. This is the government doing what we pay it to do- protecting us from a would-be murderer.
"During the stand-off, two of the persons accompanying the defendant decided to surrender, but felt they needed his permission. They approached the defendant and requested his permission to surrender, but were denied that permission," the government alleges."
So, not only is this guy a potential murderer, but he is also an actual kidnapper who was willing to expose his friends to a violent death, so he could play out his lunatic fantasy.
"In the planning for the alleged (bombing of police) operation, Stone allegedly spoke of shooting anybody who happened upon the group..."
And all of this would be nothing but the infantile fantasy of an extremely stupid and ignorant group of lunatics, if it were not for the fact that it only takes a few ounces of strength to pull the trigger on a gun. As it is, this guy and the many like him around the country, are a nightmare for all of us.
And as an aside, they hated the government, but they were sure willing to let it pay for their attorneys.

So now the Law says "would be murderer" is enough to capture & contain. No context as to when this Hutaree might commit violence against public servants. What scenerio?
Also, 2 asked permission to surrender? So "actual kidnapping".
Had the "kidnapper" kept these "2" locked in a cage? Did he take them from their bed at night? What kind of set up was this? "They asked", that makes them sorta clingy.
I have yet to read any reason to hold these people without bail. The Judge has sort of proved Hutaree's complaint. I heard the neighbor, she was not afraid of them.
Entrapment agent sent in? so they are guilty. Fears are written here, but no evidence that there were reasons for those fears alleged.
