Guess Who?

Who said this?

"The discoveries of healing science must be the inheritance of all. That is clear. Disease must be attacked, whether it occurs in the poorest or the richest man or woman simply on the ground that it is the enemy; and it must be attacked just in the same way as the fire brigade will give its full assistance to the humblest cottage as readily as to the most important mansion. Our policy is to create a national health service in order to ensure that everybody in the country, irrespective of means, age, sex, or occupation, shall have equal opportunities to benefit from the best and most up-to-date medical and allied services available."

Trotsky? Hitler? Mao Tse Tung?

Here's a hint for you: I have been listening to Hugh Hewitt for the last few minutes, as he is begging, begging his listeners to send money to the RNC. He broke to a commercial, and as the run-in to his current segment, he played the Winston Churchill speech about fighting them on the beaches, etc.

Yes, that comment is from that great conservative, Winston Churchill, speaking above. The same Winston Churchill whose government actively prepared the ground for the British National Health Service.

Boy, conservatism ain't what it used to be.

Conservatives (Especially AMERICAN Conservatives) claiming Churchill as one of their own makes about as much sense as them claiming Jesus.

You forget: It's not disease that kills (which has been handed to mankind because a guy created from dust and his wife created from his rib listened to a talking snake), it's all those evil foreigners who want to do evil things to God's favorite country. Statistically-significant facts about life expectency increasing with medical technology and availability actually are coincidental... like global warming, you know? They have been sent to test our faith!

No, prudence dictates spending money on spreading God's will -- using a large military, naturally. And it's not socialism, because the military helps save lives, benefiting everyone; that's a good thing, and socialism is bad, so it can't be socialism. Fortunately, God has been kind enough to provide us with oil access as a reward for helping all those backward foreigners.

You probably can't grasp all this. Your fancy liberal schooling probably brainwashed you into believing that non-sequitur, false dichotomy, proof by vigorous assertion, ad hominem, circular reference, and begging the question are somehow "fallacious".

I leave you with this parting warning: If you fail to listen to the voice of God (i.e.: Fox News), your soul will burn forever!

:-D
