Christians Today

Via Atrios, this cryptic article:

" The FBI conducted raids Saturday night in Washtenaw County and Lenawee County in an investigation involving members of Hutaree, a Christian-oriented militia group based in Lenawee County, AnnArbor.com has learned."

Because nothing says "Christian" like dressing up like soldiers and running around in the woods.

If you care to learn more about these idiots, here is their website. It has other features that really remind me of Jesus- a camouflage backing, and a section of advice about buying guns.

Boy, no matter how stupid your group is, there are some people who will fall for it.

Update: From Fox News, of all sources:

"Seven people have been arrested for allegedly selling pipe bombs in Michigan, Ohio and Indiana, Fox News has learned.

The arrests and raids in Michigan and Indianapolis are related to alleged militia activity in the region, but are not related to international terrorism. There is not a current threat to the public, according to a law enforcement source."

They are not related to international terrorism. I wonder if we can think of any other kind. And extremists with pipe bombs is not a current threat to the public. On the other hand, a guy who set his underwear on fire on an airplane is enough to send the whole right into shreiking fits of terror.

Do you have any info on the tea party gathering in Searchlight, Nevada Saturday?

I heard a lot of noise about it on Saturday, but Sunday the story seemed to fall off the radar a bit.

No, I don't, I am afraid. I am positive that the large turnout was totally due to the presence of their superstar, Sarah Palin, as, without her, they get only a small fraction of the number that turned up in Searchlight- even for their big Washington demonstration last week.
