Obama Scores Again

Remember a few days ago, when North Korea tried to launch their lastest missile? That event produced an avalanche of comments like the following, from that darling little Pam Geller at her website, Atlas Shrugged:

"The UN Security Council has given President Shaft the shaft.

"Now that Obama promised to nuclear disarm America in response to North Korea and Iran building nuclear weapons, how did his adoring friends in the international community thank him? By kicking him to the curb. They have defanged America - what did Obambi expect? No one respects the weak and the craven."

IN THE NEWS TODAY:

"A week after North Korea's rocket launch, the U.N. Security Council on Monday condemned the action, demanded an end to missile tests and said it will expand sanctions against the reclusive communist nation.

The council's statement, agreed on by all 15 members and read at a formal meeting of the United Nations' most powerful body, said the launch violated a council resolution adopted after the North conducted a nuclear test explosion in 2006 that banned any missile tests by the country.....

U.N. Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon welcomed the council's statement because it "sends a unified message of the international community on the recent launch," U.N. spokeswoman Michele Montas said.

She said Ban, a former South Korean foreign minister, hopes the council's "response will pave the way for renewed efforts towards the peaceful resolution of all outstanding issues in the region....."

So, just as with the now-ex pirates, Obama's quiet, constructive diplomacy accomplished more in a week that Bush/Bolton did in eight years (unless you count going backwards as an accomplishment.)

The wingnut notes of congratulations, and their profuse apologies will be rolling in by the barrelful, starting tomorrow.

Sorry to disappoint you, guys, but we've elected a President who actually knows how to do his job, not a foaming-at-the-mouth, juvenile lunatic. Deal with it.

By the way- notice the reference to "President Shaft" from little Pam? I wonder what that's supposed to mean.
