Music With a Purpose

From Americablog, one of my favorite sites, just to show that there are times when we all don't get it:

"A Grateful Dead reunion tour? I'd rather have Larry Summers at the economic helm for 1,000 years than listen to this. Could there be any worse attempt at music than this?......

Even if I got high, there's no way I could stay awake for this complete rot. Thank god punk shoved this rubbish out the door and re-introduced music with a purpose. "

Music with a purpose? MUSIC WITH A PURPOSE? What greater purpose could there be than giving several thousand people an opportunity to spend three to seven hours of an acid trip without danger of being hit by a car or walking through an upstairs window?

By the way, for that commenter that said the band was never the same after Jerry died- They were never the same after Pigpen died. Take it from someone who was there.

 Well, I haven't done one of these in a while, but I thought it might be fun to see what the wingnuts are "thinking" lately, so let's just dive in: And the big news: "Breaking! Trump Just Truthed He's "The Real Commander-In-Chief" Well, he said it.  It must be true.  He "truthed" it! Hamas

  Of ocurse I am going to take the opportunity to talk about the Hamas attack on Israel.   First, I'd like to talk about my background, or baggage, regarding the country.   I have lived in Israel, some years ago.   This was not for religious reasons; I spent several months there working on a movie.   During pre-production, weeks of location scouting and shooting the movie, I was all over the country, and spent a fair amount of time in the West Bank, where we also shot.   This included a lot of places that normal tourists would not see, including predominantly Arab areas such as East Jerusalem, the Arab quarter of the old city, Ramla and the southern part of Jaffa, which is predominantly Arab.   It also included heavily Orthodox areas like Mea Shearim.   I dealt with Israeli Arabs, Palestinians and Bedouins.     Here are a few things I believe I learned there:   First of all, the Palestinians I knew were perfectly normal people with the same interest in living a safe, secure
