Jonah Goldberg, At It Again
Is there absolutely no end to Jonah Goldberg's spectacular combination of mendacity and stupidity? In an article today, ludicrously titled "The EPA Is Choking Democracy", Jonah has this to say:
"One of the most important events of our lifetimes may have just transpired. A federal agency has decided that it has the power to regulate everything, including the air you breathe.
Nominally, the Environmental Protection Agency's announcement last Friday only applies to new-car emissions. But pretty much everyone agrees that the ruling opens the door to regulating, well, everything. "
God, how much stupidity can you get in four sentences.
You know, Jonah, it IS the Environmental Protection Agency, and the air IS a part of the environment. Had that escaped your attention?
"One of the most important events of our lifetimes may have just transpired." You mean like the fall of Communism, or the worst economic collapse in seventy years? Or the rise of your favorite satanic evil, Islamic Fascism? The EPA deciding to regulate the environment it was created to protect- THAT is one of the most important events of our lifetime? What kind of a blithering idiot are you?
And you want us to believe that, because the EPA has decided to do its job, it is claiming the right to regulate anything it wants? Grow up. Don't you have anything even slightly rational to worry about?
The imbecility of this article continues. Here is another random sample:
"Yes, the head of the EPA reports to the president, which gives some patina of democratic accountability. Except the EPA is supposed to be politically autonomous, doing what it thinks best according to what President Obama calls "sound science."
Jonah, you disgusting hypocrite, did it ever occur to you to be upset during the last eight years, when the EPA acted on the basis of what George W. Bush laughingly called "sound science?" Just to answer my own question here, no, you never thought of that. And that is because you are nothing but a tool, without a shred of self respect, who will gladly repeat any lies you get paid to tell.
