More Signs of Afghan Failure

From the New York Times:

"WASHINGTON — The system the United States used for the past five years to rate the readiness of Afghanistan's Army and police force was seriously flawed and there was no reliable way to measure any progress, according to a report by a special inspector general that was released on Monday."

I know I have said this before, but the Republicans left Obama a hopeless, unwinnable disaster in both Afghanistan and Iraq. There was clearly only one rational approach for him, and that was to be honest with the American people from the day he took office, and refuse to waste another American life in either one of those countries, for the sole purpose of trying to save the Republicans from a humiliation of their own making.

I'm afraid it's too late for that. Obama bought into these wars because he was too gutless to stand up to a couple of months of Republican abuse, and now he and the rest of us are going to pay a much higher price than being screamed at by lunatics.
