Friday the 13th News

Well, Friday the 13th is sure turning out to live up to its reputation, as far as the news goes today. I'm just going to lump all of the horror in one post, so we can be done with it as soon as possible.

Let's start with this cheery report, from the New York Times:

"KABUL, Afghanistan — An ambitious military operation that Afghan officials had expected to be a sign of their growing military capacity instead turned into an embarrassment, with Taliban fighters battering an Afghan battalion in a remote eastern area until NATO sent in French and American rescue teams. "

It has been obvious as anything on earth that the "war" in Afghanistan is lost, and has been since Bush and Cheney took their eyes off the ball to go fight in a country with oil. Obama should have pulled out the day he was inaugurated, no matter how much Republican abuse resulted. Now, he is stuck in the tar too, with no cogent strategy to bring any sort of good end to this sorry spectacle.

Now, shall we all just move on to the latest tale of Green Eagle's favorite wingnut, Orly Taitz?

"Birther queen Orly Taitz has spent the better part of a year fighting a $20,000 fine slapped on her by a federal judge for filing frivolous birther lawsuits contesting President Obama's eligility to hold the office. A few weeks ago, she applied to the Supreme Court to reverse the fine.

When Justice Clarence Thomas denied her application, she vowed to apply to each of the other justices in turn. The next justice she applied to was Samuel Alito, who has now referred the matter to the to the entire court."

Yes, the corrupt filth, Alito, has actually gone where even Clarence Thomas wasn't stupid and dishonest enough to tread, and given Orly a gigantic, permanent vote of credibility from the United States Supreme Court. The Republicans are allowed to throw massive temper tantrums when a Democratic President nominates even a very moderate Supreme Court Justice like Sotomayor or Kagan, but the Democrats in the Senate are too lacking in any shred of self respect to protest when Republican presidents nominate an endless series of criminal stooges of the rich, in order to turn the court into nothing but an enabler of the worst greed and hate in our country. And this behavior, which shames every one of us, is the result.

While we are on the subject of our judicial system, how about this news from Guantanamo?

"In May hearings, a man identified as Interrogator 1 said in testimony that he threatened Mr. Khadr with being gang-raped to death if he did not co-operate...the prosecution countered: “This evidence was voluntarily given,” said prosecutor and U.S. Air Force Captain Christopher Eason....Military judge Colonel Patrick Parrish sided with the prosecution. “The government has met its burden,” he said. “The motion to suppress the accused’s statements is denied.”

Now, doesn't that make you proud to be from America, the home of the greatest justice system on earth (along with the greatest everything else)? Liberty and justice for all...

And let me leave you with this reminder:

"World feeling the heat as 17 countries experience record temperatures...2010 sees record highs in Russia, Belarus and Ukraine but also many African, Middle Eastern and Latin American countries"

Boy, those evil climate scientists will do anything to make their global warming scam look real, huh?

And finally, a left wing falsehood, from Buzzflash:

"Truthout Becomes the First Progressive Unionized Website. BuzzFlash is Proud to be Part of a Unionized Online Community!"

How can you guys say that? The entire staff of Green Eagle (that would be Green Eagle himself) are proud members of IATSE local 800! So there! Put that in your pipe and smoke it, Buzzflash guys.

So are we back to "Weather is Climate?"

When we experience record cold spells (like in South America right now) we're told not to confuse weather with climate.

Can't have it both ways.

Silverfiddle, I know you know better than that.

Actually, I don't. Just pointing out a logical inconsistency.

No use arguing. Thanks to all the flim flam, the green hand is now palsied. The worst part is, there may actually be something to global warming, climate change, whatever they're calling it now, but the chicanery raised too many red flags.

I've been to some third world country where they burn wood and dung for warmth. I'm sure they're looking forward to some global warming.

It's the end of the world as we know it --

and I feel fine!
Truth 101 is organized also. I'm just not stuck up about it.

That's also why I rarely if ever visit big time blogs. Stuck up assholes.

Sure is hot with strange weather patterns here in the midwest. Hmmm.
