Palin- A Truly Degraded Spectacle

In response to a TV appearance by Bristol Palin's ex, Levi, Sarah Palin had her press people release a statement that included the following:

“Bristol did not even know Levi was going on the show. We’re disappointed that Levi and his family, in a quest for fame, attention, and fortune, are engaging in flat-out lies, gross exaggeration, and even distortion of their relationship,” says the statement from the Palin family rep.

“Bristol’s focus will remain on raising Tripp, completing her education, and advocating abstinence,” the statement continues. “It is unfortunate that Levi finds it more appealing to exploit his previous relationship with Bristol than to contribute to the well being of the child.

Bristol realizes now that she made a mistake in her relationship and is the one taking responsibility for their actions."

It would be so easy to exercise my sarcasm on Sarah Palin for this, as so many people have already done. I can find, however, absolutely nothing humorous about this incident. This woman, a governor of one of our states, and someone who, but for the grace of God, might have ended up as President of the United States, has used her political apparatus to launch an attack on an eighteen year old boy, whose only crime was speaking his mind.

This is a sick, vindictive person, without the slightest shred of human decency or empathy toward others. It is long past the time when any honest person had any illusion about her grotesque unsuitability for public office; but even those must be staggered by this shocking display of personal venom.

This is a filthy act by a filthy person.

"Without the slightest shred of human decency!" Come on, kid. You can't hate her THAT MUCH. It's funny, how, you sound on the vindictive side yourself? Don't you see? Only someone who was half a bubble off could write the sentence you did.

I imagine you meant she was a narcissist, brought up without any moral compass. You way of putting it is certainly more colorful

Jose,

Thanks for the comment. I would actually put myself as somewhere in the neighborhood of three quarters of a bubble off.

If you're accusing me of being rather over the top, I agree. I sort of go for the extreme here. On the other hand, I still believe that using one's national prominence to humiliate a teenager is a sign of something so ugly that it has no place in our politics.
