Journalism's Big Threat

From The Atlantic,

"In a poll of prominent members of the national news media, nearly two-thirds say the Internet is hurting journalism more than it is helping. The poll, conducted by The Atlantic and National Journal, asked 43 media insiders whether, on balance, journalism has been helped more or hurt more by the rise of news consumption online. Sixty-five percent said journalism has been hurt more, while 34 percent said it has been helped more."

You know what hurt journalism? When you guys decided that being lying toadies for the Republican party was more important than reporting the truth.

That's the threat that the internet poses to you. Buried somewhere in all the wingnut delusions and self serving crap, the real story is still there for people to find, if they want it. People can have all the propaganda they want for free these days- they don't need to pay you for it. Maybe if you were still really journalists, instead of paid liars, people still be willing to pay you.
