Franken Wins

After five months of Republican obstruction of the will of the people, Al Franken was today declared the winner of his Senate race in Minnesota:

"Over five months after the election, a three-judge panel has declared Democrat Al Franken the winner of the Minnesota U.S. Senate race.

The judges issued their final ruling late Monday, stating "Franken received the highest number of lawfully cast ballots in the Nov. 4, 2008 general election."

They also have determined that Franken is entitled to receive the certificate of election."

Not that Franken is likely to be seen in the Senate any time soon. Coleman is going to appeal and appeal and appeal as long as he can.

People say that the Republicans are fighting this so hard to keep that 59th vote away from the Democrats. I think they are just afraid of giving a comedian a national platform to talk about their behavior. John Stewart is bad enough.
