Joe's Back

I'm sure that many of you have spent a lot of time asking yourselves one simple question- What has happened to Joe the Plumber?  Well, I'm pleased to report that our national expert on everything* is now devoting himself to a cause that strikes right to the heart of our nation's problems.  Yes, in an effort to protect our American way of life, Joe has been in Missouri, campaigning against the "Puppy Mill Cruelty Prevention Act."

From TPM:  "This measure would provide common sense standards for the care of dogs," (a spokesman) told TPM, including sufficient food and clean water, vet care, regular exercise, and adequate rest between breeding cycles, among other things. Markarian said the measure only applies to "commercial dog breeding facilities" that have more than 10 breeding females who they use for "producing puppies for the pet trade."

But no:  "according to the Alliance For Truth, the main force behind the anti-Prop B movement, there is something much more nefarious afoot (er, apaw) in the HSUS measure. The Alliance For Truth claims...the society seeks only to raise the cost of breeding dogs, making it ever-more difficult for middle-class American families to be dog-owners."

Anita Andrews from Alliance For Truth told TPM that it's a "deceptive, lying bill"..."They don't like animals," she said of the Humane Society of the United States"

So, not only is it a Communist plot for the government to improve health care for human beings, apparently it's just as bad when they try to do it for puppies.   I'm waiting to hear about the puppy death panels.

*It now being an established fact that not knowing anything about your subject is the greatest qualification for running our country, and Joe the Plumber knows nothing about anything.
