Not a Double Standard in Reporting, No...
We've all heard over and over again that California's $20 billion dollar deficit is proof positive that liberal economics is a total failure (despite it's having been largely caused by conservative refusal to pay taxes in the form of the infamous prop. 187.)
Why is the story of Texas' $11 billion dollar deficit virtually nowhere to be seen? I guess that deficit doesn't prove anything, huh? No lessons to be learned there- it's just an accident, or maybe somehow liberals are to blame for that, too.
Perhaps we should ask Rand Paul for an explanation- it's probably the result of the unfair burden placed on the people of Texas by the cost of enforcing the Civil Rights Act.
