Wingnut Wrapup

The lies keep coming and Green Eagle keeps listening. Why? Who knows:

Hogan, Red State: "Arrogant Washington Threatens Rick Perry and Texans’ Right To Govern Themselves"

I.e. the Federal Government has a slight objection to this jackass ignoring the most clearly written Federal laws. Expecting conservatives to follow the law: how absurd. What real American would do that?

Confederate Yankee: "Paul Krugman...

... is an economic genius?"

Well, he can't be that, can he, no matter how many times he is proven correct, because he won't agree to spout your ludicrous crap. Now, if he did that, he'd be an Einstein.

Power Line: "Obama chases his tail to the derision of Bashar Assad...Syrian president Bashar Assad has declared that the Obama administration's failure to facilitate change in the Middle East shows that it is weak."

Isn't it funny how these guys have nothing but contempt for these "ragheads" until they say something the conservatives want to hear? All of a sudden they are the fount of all wisdom.

Power Line: "The eternal meaning of Independence Day"

It turns out that the eternal meaning of Independence Day is that only Republicans have a right to win elections in America. Aren't you glad to know that?"

Zombie, Pajamas Media: "Did Huffington Post Crop AP Photo to Give Netanyahu Devil Horns?"

Of course not, lunatic, but as a strong supporter of Israel, I wouldn't really think it was out of place if they did.

Gateway Pundit: "There is now clear evidence that the negligence by the Obama Administration caused the destruction of the Gulf coastline."

As opposed, say, to the negligence of the company that drilled for oil out there, or the negligence of the Bush Administration in not seeing to it that they had to follow safe practices. No, it's clearly Obama's fault.

CNS News: "Conservatives more than twice as likely as liberals to be strongly patriotic"

Well, not quite. Here is what the survey really said:

"Conservatives are more than twice as likely as liberals to express very strong patriotism"

I.e. conservatives are more than twice as likely as liberals to be jingoistic, slogan shouting hypocrites. I don't trust this poll. I would have thought conservatives were about a hundred times as likely as liberals at that.

James Lewis, American Thinker: "The radical Left hasn't changed one smidgen since Stalin. The Left still believes in global totalitarianism. Stalin is dead, but Stalinism is on the march. Listen to the stomping of their boots. The Left is a throwback to all the ancient utopian cults, the Mayans, Genghis Khan and the Yellow Emperor of China, Idi Amin Dada and Robert Mugabe. It's the ancient Egyptian priesthood, which was also a cult run by a totalitarian clique. In ancient Egypt you had to die to get to utopia, but the psychology is always the same. Utopian cults always appeal to suckers. They are a very nasty part of the human condition. But there's nothing new there, and they are certainly not "progressive." They are a throwback."

So we are seeing the Hitler-Stalin Pact, Take 2. The motivation is identical. These people hate the modern world, just like the Nazis and Lenin did."

Well, this is worth reading, if for no other reason than that it adds a few new names to the list of people that Obama is just like. I mean, we've all heard Hitler and Stalin a million times, but Genghis Khan, the Yellow Emperor of China (whoever the hell that is) and an ancient Egyptian priest? Man, who knew that Obama could combine the qualities of every evil person that ever lived. Except Dick Cheney, of course. They never compare Obama to Dick Cheney.

Power Line: "Eli Lake reports the pointed comments of the United Arab Emirates ambassador to the United States in Aspen yesterday. According to Lake, the ambassador said Tuesday that the benefits of bombing Iran's nuclear program outweigh the short-term costs such an attack would impose...Let it be noted that the UAE ambassador's remarks make more sense than anything that has emanated from the Obama administration on the subject."

Here they are again. A couple of years ago, the United Arab Emirates were among the American right's worst enemies- all they have to do is say one thing the wingnuts want to hear, and they are their best friends.

Jim Hoft, Gateway Pundit: "Dem’s Racist Tanning Tax Goes Into Effect – White Folks Feel Burned...It’s Time to Tax Whitey–Dems impose a 10% surcharge on the use of ultraviolet indoor tanning beds. Ma Pelosi’s got to pay for her socialism."

Taxing tanning beds is socialism. And people are outraged about this. Man, what cave does this guy live in, that he can possibly believe that? Although, living in a cave, you can see how he might be in need of a few sessions on a tanning bed.

Astute Bloggers: "OBAMA'S ASSAULT ON THE COAL INDUSTRY HAS BEGUN: EPA ISSUES NEW COAL REGS - AND WE'RE ALL GONNA PAY FOR IT!"

Yeah, it's going to cost us a couple of bucks. Of course, a lot of us won't die of lung cancer. Me, I'll take that tradeoff. How about you?

Matt Towery, Town Hall: "Obama Making Carter Years look Like Paradise "

Compared to what Reagan, Bush and Cheney left us, they were.

Jim Hoft, Gateway Pundit: "Defeat Socialism – Save America From the Obama-Pelosi Regime… DRAFT SARAH PALIN for RNC Chair"

Can she do that without giving up her $100,000 a pop speeches? Because otherwise, forget it. But at least one thing: when she turns out to be as big a loser as Michael Steele, you shouldn't have much trouble getting her to quit halfway through her term.

Brian Sikma, Renew America: "Mike Fichter, the executive director of Indiana Right to Life, and the chairman of the IRTL PAC, has made news lately with his PAC's decision to adopt a no-Democrat endorsement policy."

Just in case you thought the anti-abortion movement was anything other than a Republican front, like the teabaggers.

Stuart Schwartz, American Thinker: "The Dumbest President...EVER!"

Short memory, huh, Stuart? Once again, a Republican attempt to write Bush's epic failure as President away, by claiming that Obama has the same failings.

Dan Riehl, Riehl World View: "Dems Betting On Politics Of Personal Destruction"

Ha ha. Where do you think they learned that trick?

And finally, let me leave you with this thought:

"Where TO...the FEMA CAMPS?Just like they planned to do for a NWO/martial law scenario ANY HOW?
Is the oil spill "accidental" or part of a much BIGGER NWO agenda PLAN?
Think about it...-Pamela R. Schuffert"

Sounds crazy now- coming to a tea party near you soon.

Krugman is a wingnut, alright. On the left wing. I remember him bashing Obama during the campaign because Obama said he wanted to reduce taxes on the middle class. Krugman wrote passionately on the pro-greed side: higher taxes for all, more impoverishment as the rulers rob more from the people.

(And yes, I sided with Obama instead of Krugman on this)

Paul Krugman is a Nobel Prize winning Princeton economics professor.

That doesn't make him a wingnut, it makes him an expert, however you might hoot in derision at the Nobel Prize committee when they nominate someone you don't like.

Krugman has a two decade record now of being right almost all of the time on economic issues, and other issues as well. You real wingnuts have never, as far as I can tell, been right about anything, ever.

Shouting down people who won't just repeat Republican lies has worked pretty well for you guys, unless you count your destruction of our economy and social fabric, your squandering of our military might, your bringing closer the time when we are going to confront global environmental disaster, and your making enemies of people all over the world.

It's about time people like you grow up and start to think about something other than who will promise to cut your taxes. Naked, unrestrained greed is destroying the country; why not try something else for a change?

"the Yellow Emperor of China (whoever the hell that is)"

The Yellow Emperor of China is a quasi-mythical ruler said to have ruled around the turn of the 26th century BC.He is known as Huang-di.
According to tradition he lived for over a hundred years and defeated the evil Chi You, who had 81 brothers - each with 4 eyes and 8 arms. He is credited with the invention of traditional Chinese medicine.
Based on this, we can clearly deduce that the Yellow Emperor was a Leftist and favored universal health care.
Goodness gracious, Green Eagle, how dare you suggest this comparison is not a perfectly rational basis for conservative thought.

"Shouting down people who won't just repeat Republican lies has worked pretty well for you guys . . ." Ain't that the dang truth? A poll was just released showing that 55% of Americans think Obama is a Socialist! Terrific post - will bookmark.

The quasi-mythical emperor of China, from the 26th century B.C...sounds like the perfect person to conduct a war against an army of monkeys (see post above.) Maybe things are going to work out for us after all.
