They Are Insane and They Want Your Vote
Some excerpts from a 2008 speech by current Republican frontrunner Rick Santorum:
The place where he was, in my mind, the most successful and first successful was in academia. He understood pride of smart people. He attacked them at their weakest, that they were, in fact, smarter than everybody else and could come up with something new and different."
What a bunch of arrogant assholes, those Nobel prize winners and people like them, to think they are smarter and more knowledgeable than, say, the average Wal-Mart security guard. What could ever fill them with the arrogance to think that, other than Satan. But that's not the worst evil that Satan has in store for us:
"...once the colleges fell and those who were being education in our institutions, the next was the church...Now you’d say, ‘wait, the Catholic Church’? No"
Of course not the Catholic Church! And anyone who suggests that an orgy of tens of thousands of child rapes by priests might suggest to the religious that Satan could be involved, is truly an ugly-minded person. No, the problem is not in Rick Santorum's cult, but in the other big one:
Yes indeed, folks, this is considered appropriate thought from a supposedly Christian Republican leader: Satan has taken over the largest Christian sect in America, and it is as a result no longer Christian. All Protestants are now nothing but minions of Satan.
How, how, can the mainstream media treat a person like this as a legitimate candidate to lead our country? How can it be that millions of people are willing to side with a malignant religious lunatic, rather than have a perfectly competent and sane black man in the White House?
Yes, this country is in shambles. But it is hardly the product of the cartoon villain Satan. No, our miserable state is caused by people like Rick Santorum, who will tell any lie and spread any smear in order to get their way.
"This is a spiritual war. And the Father of Lies has his sights on what you would think the Father of Lies would have his sights on: a good, decent, powerful, influential country - the United States of America. If you were Satan, who would you attack in this day and age. There is no one else to go after other than the United States...

I might take this and stick it on my blog, not that anyone will see it.
Note the targeting of academia... Textbook fascism - and Pol Pot style Maoism for that matter - to go after intellectuals early.
