Thinking Like a Kenyan

Continuing on the theme from my recent post about Newt Gingrich, here's Dinesh D'Souza, from an article that apparently inspired Newt's recent dive into the slime pit of racism (this excerpt via American Prospect:)

"It may seem incredible to suggest that the anticolonial ideology of Barack Obama Sr. is espoused by his son, the President of the United States. That is what I am saying. From a very young age and through his formative years, Obama learned to see America as a force for global domination and destruction. He came to view America's military as an instrument of neocolonial occupation. He adopted his father's position that capitalism and free markets are code words for economic plunder. Obama grew to perceive the rich as an oppressive class, a kind of neocolonial power within America. In his worldview, profits are a measure of how effectively you have ripped off the rest of society, and America's power in the world is a measure of how selfishly it consumes the globe's resources and how ruthlessly it bullies and dominates the rest of the planet."

The author correctly points out the pure racism that underlies attacks such as this, but he still falls short of acknowledging the real irony of this claim: What he alleges Barack Obama Sr. to believe is in very large part true.

I know that anyone who speaks up against our perfect, divinely created Republic, is likely to be chewed to death by a pack of right wing pit bulls, but I'm sorry to say that the paragraph quoted above, while simplistic, is a closer description of the country we live in than the malignant fantasy peddled night and day by the Republican party. Apparently, people in Kenya are far more aware of what's going on in our society than most of us are.

America is Exceptional!

The modern Robber Barons, the Koch Brothers, Paul Singer, Erik Prince, Rupert Murdoch have inherited the machine of slavery from their Wealthy Plutocratic Forefathers, with which they continue to forge the shiny brass chains of bondage which hold fast the conservative base today.

I don't know what would happen if the Tea Baggers had faced Real oppression say JIm Crow laws, hangings, murders, segregation or forced resettlement to reservations.

If the tea baggers had faced real oppression, they would have collapsed like a cheap tent. All they're any good at is whining about their taxes and hating black people.
