Wingnut Wrapup

It's gone from a drip to a gush

And believe me, not a gush of anything you want on your morning oatmeal.  So Green Eagle is donning his hazmat suit once again and observing the toxic waste; and there is no better place to start with this remark by Ben Carson, which might be the single most delusional comment of this entire misbegotten election season:

"I'm–then hopeful that he will begin to put–to put out many of the stories that I am very familiar with, of things that he has done to help people who have been in very, very difficult situations.  You know, he–he feels that, you know, that's self-praising, he doesn't want to do it."

Donald Trump does not want to engage in self-praise.  Yup, that's what Dr. Ben said.  Yup.  I didn't make it up, I swear to you.  Ben Carson actually went out in public and said that Donald Trump does not like to engage in self-praise. Yes, he did.

Oh God, what's going on in this country?  Has Ben been drinking from the pipe in the picture above?

Brent Bozell, Town Hall:  "Media's Convention Tilt Is Unmissable"

And the evidence?

"The easiest measurement is tone. Media "analysts" always find the Republican convention to be overflowing with acrimony -- even hatred. This year was true to form...During the GOP convention, journalists scolded the Republicans for negativity 63 times. During the same time slot at the DNC, viewers heard only five such comments from reporters...Over on MSNBC, Chris Matthews despised Gov. Chris Christie's speech so much he called the convention a "brewing up of almost a witch-like ritual," a "festival of hating Hillary," tossing in adjectives like "bloodthirsty" and "blood-curdling" to describe the delegates' cheers and applause."

This, to Brent, is a sign of the media "not even trying to be fair," i.e. not lying about both the Democrats and the Republicans to make people think they are both the same.  I can imagine Brent, during World War II, fulminating that Hitler got 63 negative stories, and Churchill only got 5, proving how the liberal press is lying to us.

Justin Holcomb, Town Hall:  "Nehlen Rips Paul Ryan, the Speaker has "Shown More Passion Attacking Trump than Defending Americans"

Justin, at this point, attacking Trump is defending Americans.

Evilbloggerlady, Red State:  "You Know Who Is Unfit To Be President: Barack Obama Paid $400 Million In Ransom To Release American Prisoners In Iran"

Boy does this person deserve their online name.  This is, of course, a complete lie, even though it's all over the wingnut world today.  The $400 million was money being held as a result of sanctions which ended when Iran agreed not to develop nuclear weapons.  This was a deal negotiated not by Obama, but by six leading nations, and which was going to go through no matter what kind of tantrum American Republicans threw.  Oh well, just one more smear to throw on the heap.

Susan Wright, Red State:  "Whispers of Suicidal Trump Staff Will Be Your Dark Humor Moment of the Day"

Humor, yes.  Dark, no.  If these people are suicidal, they have no one else to blame but themselves for signing on to help elect a guy who makes Archie Bunker look like Gandhi.

Leon H. Wolf, Red State:  "The Kansas Primaries Yesterday Showed the Possibly Irreparable Damage Trump Has Done to the Conservative Movement"

It just isn't credible that these doctrinaire adherents to the most thorough application of Republican economic theory in the history of our country, lost because they totally destroyed their State's economy by doing it.  No, it's all Trump's fault.  Well, with the way things are going, they've got to have a backup plan, and with Republicans, that usually amounts to trying to blame someone else for the mess they created.

Joe Cunningham, Red State:  "What Will Happen to the Good Guys Who Supported Trump?"

Don't make me laugh, Joe.  Wait until we find one before worrying about that.  Because, you see, "violent racist scum" and "good guy" so rarely occur in the same person.

Walter Hudson, PJ Media:  "It's Now Every Man for Himself in Trump's GOP"

Despite which, Walter still says this:

"Despite long and public opposition to Donald Trump's candidacy for president, it would be easy for me to come around and support him. Hillary Clinton proves so horrible, and the stakes of this election prove so high, that I would come around in an instant if Trump displayed the slightest degree of grace, competence, and leadership."

Hillary is so horrible that she is worse than a mentally deranged bully who is in league with the spy system of our biggest enemy. Okay then, Walter, baby, you stick with Trump then. Really, did we expect anything different in the end?  Because no matter what you guys say, 99.9% of you are going to decide by election day that this monster would be just fine in the White House, because he's the thousandth Republican in a row to lie to you about cutting your taxes.  And after all, in the end, what else counts to a Conservative?

David Steinberg, PJ Media:  "Mainstream Media: 'Trump Boots Baby From Rally!' Non-Media Witnesses: 'That's Pure Propaganda'

Make up your own mind:

Non-media witnesses, huh?  Witnesses to what, I wonder, the second coming of Zippy the Pinhead?

And now, a grand champion example of projection, from, well, who else?

Jim Hoft, Gateway Pundit:  "RECENT VIDEOS Show Hillary Clinton HIGHLY UNSTABLE – On Brink of Nervous Breakdown"

Hillary is the crazy one.  Well, Jim, that's a new high in "both sides do it" nonsense.  Jim Continues:

"Maybe all of that serial lying is finally catching up with her.  Does anyone really believe this woman is fit to sit in the Oval Office?"

Jim obviously believes that if he just continues blaming Hillary for any problem Trump has, it will cancel out everything about the worst candidate in over a hundred years.  Well, we'll see, won't we?  He might be right.

Jim Hoft, Gateway Pundit:  "MUST SEE=> Iowa Parade Float Depicts Crooked Hillary in Orange Jump Suit in Jail"

Well, if we must see it, here it is:

It's the closest they are ever going to get to actually putting Hillary in jail for the crime of being a Democrat- a parade in some God-forsaken Iowa rathole of a town, so you might as well enjoy it while it lasts, Jim.  She's been exonerated from literally hundreds of false Republican charges, and been found guilty of not one single one of them, so just watch the parade and daydream.  And to think you guys are having fits over some guy asking if Trump has ever read the constitution.

Michael Gaynor, Renew America:  "Donald Trump won't be bullied. Period. Full stop."

Well, except maybe by Vladimir Putin and the Russian oligarchs who hold his debt.  And probably his wife.

Michelle Malkin, Renew America:  "Not all U.S. Muslim soldiers are equal"

Well, maybe Humayun Khan is okay, particularly because he is dead, but the rest of them are a pack of terrorists.

"his exceptional courage in Iraq and his Muslim father's post-Democratic-convention histrionics on TV do not erase the security threat posed by killer warriors of Allah infiltrating our troops"

So it's okay to keep on hating them.  By the way, Michelle, here's something for you to think about: When you say "warriors," it pretty much goes with the territory that they are killers.  That's sort of the point, unless you were talking about Stephen Curry, which I don't think you were.

Alan Keyes, Renew America:  "Christ demands more than greatness"

How about if you just tell the truth once in a while, Alan?  That won't make you great, but it's a start.

Joseph Farah, World Net Daily:  "Is Obama signaling he'll stay if Trump wins?"

You mean like, stay in the United States instead of going back to Kenya where he belongs?  And here is a particularly unique example of disturbed thinking, making Joseph's point:

"Given what Obama has said about Trump, would he not have an obligation to prevent Trump from assuming office? And what would that mean to the peaceful process America has enjoyed for more than two centuries of transitions of power?  These are questions Americans have never before been confronted with in American history.

Should we not be concerned about what Obama might do?"

No, Joseph, we shouldn't.  We are concerned, however, that you are finally breaking through into real insanity.

"Some may accuse me of being hyperbolic here"

No, really?

World Net Daily:  "Khan: Constitution 'must always be subordinated' to Shariah"

Something that Khan absolutely never said, but hey, why not toss it up there and give it a chance, right?  Somebody might go for it.

World Net Daily:  "Company tests giant bus that drives over cars"

You mean like this?

That would be cut down on traffic congestion.  Not as much as the nuclear war Trump seems to be hoping for, but it would make you think twice about driving to the grocery store if it were likely to happen.

Thomas Lifson, American Thinker: "Official Customs and Border Protection website contains blueprint for illegals to evade capture"

This is another story that's all over wingnut world today.  If you go to the website, you will discover that it explains exactly what the law is today.  That is apparently beyond the pale.  Laws should be kept secret, so that no one knows if the police detaining them are acting legally or not, I guess.

Breitbart:  "Khizr Khan Busted Lying: Claims ‘There Is No Such Thing as Sharia Law’…"

Of course, if anyone at Breitbart had spent one minute going to Wikipedia, they could have learned this:

"The primary range of meanings of the Arabic word šarīʿah, derived from the root š-r-ʕ, is related to religion and religious law. It is used by Arabic-speaking peoples of the Middle East and designates a prophetic religion in its totality. For example, sharīʿat Mūsā means law or religion of Moses and sharīʿatu-nā can mean "our religion" in reference to any monotheistic faith. Within Islamic discourse, šarīʿah refers to religious regulations governing the lives of Muslims.

The lexicographical tradition records two major areas of use where the word šarīʿah can appear without religious connotation. In texts evoking a pastoral or nomadic environment, the word and its derivatives refer to watering animals at a permanent water-hole or to the seashore, with special reference to animals who come there. Another area of use relates to notions of stretched or lengthy. This range of meanings is cognate with the Hebrew saraʿ and is likely to be the origin of the meaning "way" or "path". Both these areas have been claimed to have given rise to aspects of the religious meaning.

Some scholars describe the word šarīʿah as an archaic Arabic word denoting "pathway to be followed" (analogous to the Hebrew term Halakhah ["The Way to Go"], or "path to the water hole" and argue that its adoption as a metaphor for a divinely ordained way of life arises from the importance of water in an arid desert environment.

In the Quran, šarīʿah and its cognate širʿah occur once each, with the meaning "way" or "path". The word šarīʿah was widely used by Arabic-speaking Jews during the middle ages, being the most common translation for the word torah in the 10th century Arabic."

Shariah means, roughly, following a good path in life, and does not refer to any body of laws.  So, who turns out to be lying now, Breitbart?

Before it's News:  "You Won’t Believe Your Ears-No 2016 Election"

Well, actually, I'm listening to Buddy Guy while I read this garbage, so I believe every thing I'm hearing.  What I'm reading?  Not so much.

Larry Elder, Town Hall:  "Where Is the 'Hillary Lied, People Died' Crowd?"

In the few mental institutions still left, Larry.  Or working as paid liars cranking out smears for right wing propaganda outfits, like you do..

Tom Knighton, PJ Media:  "TSA Says Mummified Heads Are A-OK for Carry-On"

A victory for Republicans, all of whom would have had to take the bus otherwise.

And now, let's look at a picture on a right wing website today, meant to make a point about the Trump campaign:

Man, that hurts, coming from a friend.

Jim Hoft, Gateway Pundit:  "What a Shock=> Trump Implosion Stories Completely Fabricated by Liberal Media Hacks"

Keep telling yourself that, Jim.  Your own guys are comparing his campaign to a trip on the Titanic.  No wonder they call this guy the Stupidest Man on the Internet.

Sher Zieve, Renew America:  "Mr. Trump: The people are still behind you!   Please do not falter now that it is so close to being won. As your daughter Ivanka said you are our "champion." Please know that We-the-People are behind you in our support and that only those who fear having to give up their corruption and control of us are in fear of you."

Well, and those who fear nuclear war, dictatorship and a worldwide depression.  Other than that, everyone is behind Trump.  As is so common at Renew America, Sher turns to the Bible for advice:

"Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you."

Great, Sher.  As far as Green Eagle is concerned, Trump can trample on all the serpents and scorpions he wants.  I just hope he does it on live TV so we can all watch.

The bus that drives over traffic is real. http://money.cnn.com/2016/08/03/technology/elevated-bus-china-road-test/ and many other sources.

Saw this today, and had to share:

If Hillary wins, for the first time we'll have two Presidents sleeping together in the White House.
If Trump wins, it will the the first time we'll have a white millionaire moving into public housing after a black family has moved out...
Green Eagle said…
Jon, I'm aware of that. All I am suggesting is that, if the Republicans get behind it, this will be the result.

And Marc, if Trump wins, it will be the last time we have a President, as anyone in the history of the country would recognize one.
