A Plea to Dwayne Stafford
Know who Dwayne Stafford is? Well, I certainly didn't either until about two minutes ago. Dwayne is an inmate in South Caroline who gave right wing terrorist murderer and infantile jerk Dylann Roof a punch in the face.
Right on, but Dwayne, please don't kill him until after the trial. The entire country needs to have rammed down its throat what right wingers are talking about when they call themselves "patriots." They all need to see Dwayne explain exactly why it was okay to gun down nine black people in a church.
After that, be my guest: do whatever you want to him. Nothing could be worse than he deserves.

Usually when they come to kill you in that kind of setting, with a plan and premeditation, you suffer horrible injury if not death. US prison fights have been typically clocked at 8 full-on power hits in the first 2 seconds. It's an explosive flurry.
Why am I saying all this? Because when they come for Roof, if they get the opportunity, he will wish for a fraction of the human warmth he was shown in that church by the people he was about to kill, should he be given so many seconds to live.
Do I approve? No. Though personally I'd rather be dead than in prison for life anyway.
In other news Zimmerman got roughed up after complimenting someone on his confederate flag tattoos. The story is a bit confused and everyone has a slightly different version but... I'm not unhappy about that - bar the bit about him not being in jail for murder as well.

I have seen the Japanese far Right up close and ugly. Seen it in Europe.
It's everywhere in its own superficial variations and it troubles me that so few normal people focus on it as a constant presence and a threat.
I'd be one of the few Australians who has heard of the Sovereign Citizens movement, for example, and aware that it has a branch here (it does). I have actually heard of some of the fringe groups in the USA that fringe politicians here travel on my tax dime to coddle up with and I am maddened by it. I want to know who these jerks are. I want other people to look in their direction.
