It Runs In The Family

I saw this yesterday at a right wing site:

"Accusations of anti-Semitism in the Donald Trump campaign are nothing new, but rarely are they more solid than this.  Joseph Schmitz, one of Trump's five foreign policy advisors, was accused of bragging about pushing out Jewish employees when he worked for the Department of Defense."

This particular Trump hire interested me because of the guy's last name, Schmitz.  Sure enough, a little bit of investigation revealed that he is the son of former Republican Congressman John Schmitz.  Schmitz, a guy so hard right that he was kicked out of the John Birch Society for extremism, was also a professor at a Bible college, a job that came to an end when it was discovered he was having an affair with one of his students, with whom he fathered two children.  Of course, being a good Republican, he refused for the rest of his life to pay a dime of child support.

Well, the capper of this whole story is the tale of this guy's daughter, and Joseph Schmitz's sister, one Mary Kay Latourneau, who you may remember as being a teacher who was sent to prison for having sex with, and getting pregnant by, one of her twelve year old students.  Sort of runs in the family, huh?

A fine Republican family, yes sir.

Keeping it in thefamily... Ivanka appears to take after her father in not paying the people who work for her. Donald, of course, kept *it* in the family in a different sense...

Not to be picky or anything, but I think in Trump's case, you would have to say keeping it in the families.

Had Obama stood on stage with five children by three different wives, the (R)'s would have had a field day hooting about 'traditional marriage'. With tRump as their candidate, the crickets are deafening. For Republicans, facts have a liberal bias, so trust your gut and not your lyin' eyes...

Hamas

  Of ocurse I am going to take the opportunity to talk about the Hamas attack on Israel.   First, I'd like to talk about my background, or baggage, regarding the country.   I have lived in Israel, some years ago.   This was not for religious reasons; I spent several months there working on a movie.   During pre-production, weeks of location scouting and shooting the movie, I was all over the country, and spent a fair amount of time in the West Bank, where we also shot.   This included a lot of places that normal tourists would not see, including predominantly Arab areas such as East Jerusalem, the Arab quarter of the old city, Ramla and the southern part of Jaffa, which is predominantly Arab.   It also included heavily Orthodox areas like Mea Shearim.   I dealt with Israeli Arabs, Palestinians and Bedouins.     Here are a few things I believe I learned there:   First of all, the Palestinians I knew were perfectly normal people with the same interest in living a safe, secure
