They Are Incapable of Facing Reality

And a good thing too.  We all know that all the right would have to do is show about five percent of sanity, and the mainstream press would fall all over itself praising how wise and reasonable and bipartisan they were.  Look how they have tried to make principled intellectuals out of the lying scum Paul Ryan and the corrupt Antonin Scalia.

Well, we know that the right will not turn its back on Ted Cruz, no matter how much damage he does, and here is a perfect example from the allegedly religious Bryan Fischer, one of the right's standby commenters:

"The silver lining: conservative movement now has a leader in Ted Cruz"

This is the one silver lining in the dark and gloomy budget-debt ceiling showdown cloud. A clear and universally recognized leader of the conservative movement has emerged, and his name is Ted Cruz."

He sure has emerged- a leader who just led them to their biggest humiliation in a couple of decades.  But apparently, that is what passes for success if your ability to deny reality is strong enough.

"Cruz singlehandedly energized the conservative grassroots with his filibuster on behalf of defunding the monstrosity of ObamaCare."

Of course, to the other 85% of the country, he put on a repellent show of ego that did nothing but sicken people.

"If a man is known by the enemies he makes – and I believe he is – Ted Cruz is ticking off all the right people."

Yeah, but he is ticking off all the wrong people, because he is ticking off everyone.  Everyone except the hopeless, incurable haters who still cling to their dream of a country run by and for old, white people.

"In last night's debt ceiling vote, 62% of Republican members of the House voted against this bill which their own leader brought to the floor over their objections. All of which raises the question: why is this man still Speaker of the House?"

Because, you dimwit, he is Speaker of the House, not Speaker of the Republicans.  He (finally) allowed a massive majority of the members of both parties to put a stop to the treasonous attempt of the Republican "base" to do away with majority rule in the United States, and replace it with rule of the most belligerent and willing to harm others.

"The bottom line: the conservative army now has a general"

A general who just led you to a colossal defeat.  Good luck with that, and never change, Bryan.  We love you just the way you are.

"We're an empire now, and when we act, we create our own reality.

And while you're studying that reality—judiciously, as you will—we'll act again, creating other new realities, which you can study too, and that's how things will sort out.

We're history's actors… and you, all of you, will be left to just study what we do."

Eagle, Cruz and the conservatives see the Shutdown as a Victory for a reason. IT was...

They stole $24 billion, the undercut government, and they'll do it again. And the Media will record and report the Crazy position as though it's valid and voters won't punish Rape-publicans because BOTH SIDES DO IT is the de riguer of the MSM.

I'm afraid you're right, Gene. Well, at least they were humiliated this time, and Ted Cruz really alienated himself from normal people.
