Wingnut Wrapup

And another load of Republican irrationality from the last few days:

Daniel J. Mitchell, Town Hall:  "Playing Hardball on a Government Shutdown Is the only Short-Run Way to Make Fiscal Progress"

Progress toward disaster.  But seeing how that seems to be what the Republicans want, I guess it is progress of a sort.

Daniel Doherty, Town Hall:  "Surprise: Most Americans Would Blame GOP for Government Shutdown"

Surprise? Surprise?  Listen, guy, what planet do you live on, anyway?

Mike Shedlock, Town Hall:  "Giant Deadly Hornets Kill Dozens In China; Venom Dissolves Flesh and they Can Spray It"

Just in case you didn't have enough to worry about today.  The only thing that surprised me about this article is that Mike didn't find a way to blame it on Obama.

Matt Barber, Town Hall:  "With his inspirational and unprecedented show of leadership on the floor of the U.S. Senate this past week, Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, made hundreds of enemies in Washington."

Yeah.  All of them Republicans, who he pissed off by making the whole party look crazy.  As for Democrats, there was a considerable group that loved Ted's performance:  the comedy fans.

Guy Benson, Town Hall:  "White House Compares Republicans to Terrorists, Kidnappers, Arsonists"

They forgot traitors.

John Hayward, Human Events:  "Ted Cruz meets the press...The gentleman from Texas remains cool under fire."

That's because he still hasn't figured out what a jackass he made of himself.

Michael Ledeen, PJ Media:  "The ‘Historic’ Phone Call Was a Hostage Negotiation"

That's the phone call between Obama and the new President of Iran.  Judging from the article, Mr. Ledeen, who was a major Iraq war promoter, was involved in the Iran-Contra scandal and the Niger yellowcake lies, does not have a single clue what was said during that conversation, but he feels confident in stating unequivocally that it was a miserable disaster for Obama.  Well, what else is new?

Gateway Pundit:  "Vintage Media Pulls Out All The Stops Trying to Blame #ObamaReidShutdown on GOP "

I don't believe this story for a minute, since it would involve telling the truth about the shutdown, something the mainstream media hasn't tried in years.

Alan Caruba, Renew America:  "I have been trying to remember when there was so much anger between the Democrats and Republicans. Or maybe I should say between liberals and conservatives? Or maybe I should say between the Tea Party and the Republican Party? Or maybe I should say those who find the President of the United States a contemptible liar who has diminished a once great superpower to an object of disrespect?'

Oh, of course we can't forget "those who find the President of the United States a contemptible liar who has diminished a once great superpower to an object of disrespect."  I mean, paranoid schizophrenics deserve a voice too, right?

Donald Hank, Renew America:  "We now know that one of the radicals behind the horrendous Nairobi Westgate Mall attack last week was a young native born ethnic English woman who learned and accepted the Muslim religion while enrolled in high school.  The Western Oligarchy, whose hatred of Judeo-Christianity is unrivaled by that of the Islamists, knows just how to eradicate Judeo-Christianity and free market capitalism"

We don't need to hear any more of this.  What interests me is the notion that one English woman who embraced Islamic terrorism, and about whom Donald seems to know next to nothing, proves that liberals hate Jews and Christians.  And while we are on the subject, let's state the obvious:  Donald doesn't give a flying fuck about Jews either.  He just throws them in so he doesn't sound like such a racist pig.  By the way, Donald retired in 2009 and immediately moved to Panama.  Great American patriot, huh?

Michael Carl, World Net Daily:  "Truckers roar to D.C. with impeachment movement...'The goal is to wake up the sleeping giant, the people of America'

The bikers failed miserably, so now it's the truck drivers.  When that fails too, maybe the Koch brothers will pay to have some oil tankers cruise up the Potomac.  But wait- there's more:

"but now their plan has taken a new twist: Their friends and families will simultaneously join other Americans rallying on overpasses across the nation for Obama’s impeachment."

Well, won't that be special.

Matthew May, American Thinker:  "Like most members of the Congress that passed it and, undoubtedly, the president of the United States who signed it, I have not read the entirety of the ill-named Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act.  Yet there is one aspect concerning that legislation of which I am certain: I will not comply."

Well, that's just great, Matthew.  Knock yourself out.  Freedom and patriotism and all.  Matthew continues:

"We are, however, drawing a line that the forces of repression, socialism, and tyranny must not cross.  Some might even color the line red.  Yet unlike a certain other, this red line is immovable.  I yield nothing on the plane of freedom."

Enjoy your illness, Matthew.  The rest of us will probably just give in to the tyranny of being forced to be healthy.  And by the way, don't forget your credit card.  The plane of freedom charges for baggage.

Roger Simon, PJ Media:  "Should the Republicans Mount a ‘Charm Offensive’?  It's time for the GOP to co-opt America by treating liberal politicians like misguided children who need help."

Treating your opponents like children because they won't fall for your extortion.  Boy, that's my idea of a charm offensive, yes sir.  At least we treat Republicans like misguided adults who need a horse whipping.

Bridget Johnson, PJ Media:  "First Day of Obamacare Exchanges: Crashapalooza-Gov says it's because everybody wants to sign up so badly."

And it is, too.  But no sense disturbing their daydream with the truth.

Andrea Ryan, Gateway Pundit:  "Glitch-Filled Obamacare Launch Frustrates Americans, Spells Bad News for Democrats"

And here I thought that no one was going to sign up for it.

Gateway Pundit:  "Nancy Pelosi Shrieks About Republicans Wanting A New World Order -Sadly, I can hear her shrill voice shrieking out those lines. "

She was Shrieking, I tell you, SHRIEKING!!!!!  And by the way, Mr. Pundit, I'd check to be sure that it's Nancy Pelosi's voice you are hearing.  It might just be those demons that are always telling you to go on a shooting rampage.

And now, chapter ten trillion in the "It's Always the Democrats' Fault" saga:

Paul Shlichta, American Thinker:  "Republicans are falling into the trap the Democrats have set for them.  By repeatedly voting to overturn Obamacare without proposing any effective alternative, House Republicans are allowing Democrats to brand them as "enemies of the poor."

The Democrats forced Republicans to spend the last two years introducing the same useless, mean-spirited legislation over and over again.  Left to their own devices, the Republicans would have let Obamacare be enacted without a problem.  But the Democrats tricked them.  Man, these guys are stupid.  I can't even trick my Corgi that easily.

Ron Lipsman, American Thinker:  "It has been observed that Obama is willing to negotiate with Putin of Russia, Xi of China, Rouhani of Iran, even (indirectly) Assad of Syria - not to mention any number of lesser tin pot dictators around the globe. But he is totally unwilling to negotiate now with Boehner of the US House of Representatives."

Unlike Boehner and the Republicans, Putin, Xi and Rouhani are not committed to destroying the United States.

Newsmax:  "Texas Governor Says Wife Misspoke on Abortion as 'Right'

The little lady just didn't understand what she was saying.  Just a dame thing- you know those dizzy blondes.  From now on, she'd better let her husband speak for her.

Dennis Prager, National Review Online:  "A Response to Rich Dawkins: If there is no God, everything is permitted."

Yeah, like if you don't believe in God, you think it's okay to go around kicking puppies.  Because hey, if you don't believe in God, you think it's okay to hurt anyone and anything for fun, right?  I mean, really, who cares, it's not me feeling the pain when my steel toed boots meet the puppy's head at about twenty miles an hour.  That's the way everyone who doesn't believe in God feels- it's fun to hurt others.  Yeah, that's right.  Dennis has hit the nail right on the head again.  What a genius.

I just hope Dennis never stops believing in God, because I can only imagine what evil he must be thinking about, that only the fear of God prevents him from doing.  Dennis just proves my contention that, in large part, religion exists for the morally weak, who can think of no other reason to act decently than fear of what God will do to them if they don't behave.  Oh, and religion also exists to extort money from the stupid.  Don't forget that.

On the Obama launch glitches, there may have been another factor at work. New York state is investigating the possibility that its exchange site was targeted with a DDOS attack. At this point we have to assume the wingnuts would sink to anything.

Awesome.

I saw that- I heard that the New York exchanges got about 2 million hits (in a State with a population under 20 million.) That sounds like a DDOS attack to me. I'll keep my eyes on this. My only question is whether wingnuts are smart enough to pull something like this off.
