Truth, Conservative Style

This amusing quote, caught by Daily Kos, pretty much sums up the relationship right wingers have with the truth:
"Obamacare sticker shock will not affect millions of low-income Americans; a New York Times analysis published on Wednesday found that Obamacare  will leave out two-thirds of the poor blacks and single mothers and more than half of the low-wage workers who do not have insurance, the very kinds of people that the program was intended to help."
What a cynical failure Obamacare is!  Daily Kos kindly provides us with more of the sentence that the wingnut quoted from above:
"...Because they live in states largely controlled by Republicans that have declined to participate in a vast expansion of Medicaid, the medical insurance program for the poor, they are among the eight million Americans who are impoverished, uninsured and ineligible for help."
Truth really is stranger than fiction.  No one would believe a fictional character who did something so ludicrously dishonest, but among Republicans, it's just standard behavior.  There is just no way to adequately explain how much damage continues to be done to this country by people who are this unconcerned with the truth.

And by the way, I hope you got a good laugh out of the notion that Republicans give a damn about poor blacks, single mothers and low-wage workers.

Off topic, but did you see the Swiss are voting on a guaranteed minimum income? http://news.yahoo.com/blogs/sideshow/switzerland-to-vote-on--2-800-monthly-%E2%80%98basic-income%E2%80%99-minimum-for-adults-181937885.html

This is something which I started advocating in the 1970's. I believe that, with jobs disappearing permanently, this is inevitably the only answer, short of having murderous mobs numbering in the millions wandering the country destroying everything in their path.
