THIS Is A Democrat

Nancy Pelosi, I mean.  Maybe you should pay attention, Barack:

"After a contentious White House meeting with President Obama and other Congressional leaders, House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) returned to the Capitol and drew an important red line: Members of her caucus won't vote for a grand bargain to raise the debt limit and reduce future deficits if the final deal includes cuts to Medicare and Social Security benefits -- and that means it probably won't pass."

That's what a real Democrat sounds like.  That's what the American people want to hear- someone sticking up for them for a change, instead of caving in to Republicans every time.  That is what wins elections.

do you now Social Security and Medicare are only solvent for the next 25 years?
You really want your children to deal with it then?
They will look back and hate s for not fixing it before it's too late. But in typical Pelosi form we will kick the ca down the road because politically it doesn't help us now.
his coming for a woman who says we have to pas the bill to find out what's in it.
Americans don't care what she has to say anymore just like they didn't when she was house majority leader and they told her at the polls in 2010
Keep grasping, her rhetoric is falling on deaf ears..

Anonymous,

I have discussed the issue of Social Security here several times over the last couple of years. I'm not going to repeat myself now for your benefit; you would just ignore the truth anyway, as you always do.

Social Security is easily sustainable with very modest changes to the tax structure, and as for Medicare, it operates at one tenth the overhead of private insurance. The answer to the health care problems in this country is to crush the head of the insurance snake.
